He was soooooo good the first 7 games. Lightening fast drop back. Super tight passing. Decisive. What the heck happened. I love him too. I keep hoping he'll be this good again. For anybody. Really nice guy, great talent. Go Rex
Grossman made mistakes sure, but let me be honest: I would rather have a mistake prone Grossman than a quitter/indifferent Jay Cutler. The defense did lead us to that Super Bowl back in 06 but it's not like Grossman played completely like a freaking Jonathan Quinn remember him?
@blackgirllover1 Jay Cutler is by no means indifferent or a quitter. Chicago fans should have seen without him this season that the team is worth nothing. Jay carries that offense along with Matt Forte, anyone who knows football can blatantly see that
I get that, we all know that the losing streak came as a result of the loss of Cutler and then Forte but in all honesty even though Cutler has talent I just don't see the heart or the passion of other elite to near elite qb's hell I'd say Eli freaking Manning is more of a overall player and person than Cutler. However I know my mouth will be shut if we ever win the big one with Cutler at the helm and yeah I am a little hard on Cutler but too each his own.
Grossman didn't "manage" that Bears team. Devin Hester, the backfield of Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson, and Urlacher, Briggs and that defense CARRIED Grossman to that Super Bowl. If that Monday Night game against the Cardinals proved anything (Grossman: 4 INTs, 2 fumbles lost), its that the Bears were so dominant on defense and special teams that they won despite how Grossman played. When he was good, he was average, and when he was bad, he was fucking terrible.
Rex ??? super bowl?? no the the defense was the reason they won games. Rex Grossma i the suckiest QB ive seen not as bad as Jamarcus "Purple Drank" BUSTell bu still has been one of the leagues worst ever since he stepped foot on the field. his oline rbs wrs did most of the work and his defense and DEVIN HESTER!! sexy rexy was throwin two to three ints a game that season
Rex doesn't have any legs anymore.....cant set up in the pocket like he used too. His career is slowly falling apart. Skins need to draft a QB or pickup a veteran QB through free agency...
One time in high school football Rax had to throw a slant pattern. "I don't want to throw a fucking slant coach, I fucking go deep!" said Rax. "Run the damn play Rax" the coach responds. Pissed, Rax ran the play. He ended up throwing the slant ball so hard and so fast that he threw a hole right into the wide receiver killing him instantly.
He had sex 57 times with 30 different women that night
I don't get it. He played great in Chicago, but now he is playing horrible with the Redskins. He was a more mobile and accurate passer with the Bears, but he is like a statue with the Redskins.
@Dafranchise1104 You're joking right? He was not even close to being a good QB in Chicago. Our defense and special teams got us to the super bowl, Rex Grossman cost us the superbowl.
i disagree, he won alot of games for you guys as well, i saw him in those playoffs and saw some throws that absolutely blew me away, yes he was inconsistent and sucked alot of times , but in those playoffs, he was on fire especially in the game against seattle, the bears lost the superbowl not because of grossman, it was because the team as a whole was awful in that game, the d couldnt stop manning and the running game didnt do anything to help grossman, who had a bad game himself.

Good point Marc, the Bears allowed the Colts to grind them out in that super bowl and it was raining. Not all quarterbacks have the same road to success. I think Rex Grossman has incredible anticipation of routes and is fearless
One Grossman is a great football player, and i always and will always like him. I am a HUGE bears fan and i would take Rex back over Cutler. "hanlee729" you dont know what your talking about. McNabb has taken the eagles to SUPERBOWL XXXIX but that was a fluk. McNabb is an overrated PLAYER!!
Rex Lead the 06 bears to the Superbowl, but you still have to give credit to the Defence. Rex Grossman is underrated and he will have his chance to shine once more. Wished we had you back, bears need you!!
@superpayton34 mcnabb was a fluke were the ten winning seasons a fluke were the 5 nfc championship games a fluke the bears were the fluke look at mcnabbs wins vs rex grossmans wins not even close
@evenmix1 If so good why did he do poorly for the Redskins? I know because he didnt even know the formation he is very overrated. He was never accurate too he was good when he had legs but lets calm down . Rex isnt that horrivle chicagho fans should know this look how Cutler struggled his first year ad look how orton is in Denver. They are QB's killer
I like Rex he was good for us after that Arizona Game he just tried TOO Hard and was pressing & all the So Call Bears fan got on him, nobody mention that it was blown coverage that let Reggie Wayne score, nobody mention Cedric fumblesion fumbled the ball, nobody mention that Moose didn't come back for the ball that was intercepted..... just saying
Any QB is as good as his Offensive line. That goes for Brady,Manning,Brees,etc.....Give them a sorry ass O-Line and see what kind of performance you get.Rex was a winner in College and he was the QB of our team when we went to the Superbowl in which it took us 26 years and PLENTY of QB's later.Say what you want but i would take Grossman anyday over Cutler.
quickest release in the game baby, Redskins quarterback baby! Shanahan knows what he's doing, he thought Plummer was the next Elway but it's Rex Grossman the original gunslinger oh yeah... Find me a quarterback besides Brady to lead his team to a super bowl in as many starts, Rex is ready for his resurgence!
As a redskins fan I can proudly say YOU CAN HAVE HIM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure the guy is accurate but he has a arm of an undeveloped 7yr old kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey dude! I was a Rex supporter too! i think it's dumb how Bears fans gave him so much shit even though he was our STARTING QB. You should support your team AND players through thick and thin, even now with Jay Cutler. Going to be interesting which direction the Redskins go next year with Rex! Thanks for the video dude!
Rex is an up and down guy . Big skins fan he has benifits as in he'll play football and make it close and sometimes can have a 3 td-0 int game but bad games he'll have 2 ints and 0 td's with 1 FF. Hes up and down but I think the dallas game with 4 tds was one of his best ones
He could have a good year as a starter for the Skins but is problem is his consistency. If he could just be a bit more consistent he would be a pretty solid starter.
i watched the redskins when rex grossman was starting, he actually played very well... i think he is going to start for them next year and have a very good year
as a ultimate bears fan the reason the bears went to the superbowl is because there defense was and still is amazing and devin hester not rex grossman he SUCKS
yea is that why Rex became the first Bear QB to throw over 3000 yards and 20 TDs in the same season?
lemme remind ya it was OVER A DECADE since a Bears QB threw any of those numbers and that was Erik Kramer back in 1995. and btw the D SUCKED DICK in the SUper BOwl but its old news fuck em all!
@JordanSanders1991 im a bears fan idiot and rex sucked too plus cutle last season threw 23 touchdowns and threw 3274 passing yards aint that special lol u may have known about nfl than but u apparently dont anymore cause u didnt know that
@1236sweetiepea you obviously dont know anything about me and i've been watching the Bears play my whole life and like i said fuck Rex! so if you dont think i didnt know that? well hes the only Bear qb to throw over 3000 yards in 2 straight seasons but he wont touch Kramers records of 29 TDs and 10 INTs, and passer rating. Cutler would need to complete over 65% of his passes to even remotely get close to it
Watching these highlights reminds me why Chicago should have not gotten rid of him. If they didn't want him as a starter, he would have been a good backup for Cutler.
Honestly, I am a huge Grossman guy. Not because I think he's a great QB, but because he was a class act through all the bull shit he took in Chicago. However, I'd like you to name ONE QB in NFL history 6"0 tall and immobile who was successful.... yeah... you can't answer that.
"Fuck it, I'm going deep." -Rex Grossman a.k.a. 10 times more of a man than Jay Cutler will ever be and way underrated by all these fucking fair-weather Bears fans who loved him when he was having his great games and then once he hyas a couple bad games everybody calls for his head.
great video; it's nice to see that there are other grossman fans. if you haven't done so already, check out his highlights w/ the gators; he fit into that offensive system perfectly. it's too bad there is no fun-n-gun in the nfl
@MrBLuEx69 Rex had something to do with it (too fast pass to the TE I recall). But you can't forget Pnut Tillman dropping a sure intereption TD early on, thrown right to his hands + Cedric B. packing it in. There was one Manning TD against a Bears cornerback I'd never heard in the regular season! I don't know why that even hapened, have to point to coaching. Rex was not the only reason.
@MrBLuEx69 alright. i really wouldnt say the defense brought you to the superbowl. they were good but not the 85 bears or 00 ravens those defenses brought their team to the superbowl. rex has some credit, he was good at times.
@MrBLuEx69 yeah the oline sucking and leadng the leaque in drop passes had nothing to do w it right? we managed to also turn a pro bowler cutler into a scrub
@MrBLuEx69 rex was their starting qb. even if the defense took the bears to the super bowl, grossman helped them. so instead of blaming him for losing the super bowl, you should be thanking him for even leading the bears to the super bowl, because since 85, we have not had a qb to do it. so put shame on you and the people that doubt grossman. like status if you agree
I'd rather have rex grossman than peyton manning . Give rex the right coach and system and he'd be much better than manning, the most overrated superstar in the history of sports. Let us not forget that rex almost ko'd mr. superstar.
REX GROSSMAN IS A FUCKKING BEAST , FUKK ALL YA MOTHAFUKING HATERS OUT THERE, WELL THE ONLY THING I NOTICED IS WHEN HE HAS PRESSURE HE GETS NERVOUS AND THROWS THE BALL ANYWHERE AND IT GETS INTERCEPTED, DATS HIS GREATEST WEAKNESS, IS LIKE HIS SCARED TO GET HIT , IDK BUT BESIDES DAT HIS A BEAST HE JUST NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TOO THROW GOOD WHILE IN PRESSURE... I LIKE GROSSMAN MORE THAN CUTLER... BUT ITS WEIRD HOW WHEN HE GETS PRESSURE ALL THE D-LINEMEN ALL GET UNBLOCKED AND FUKK HIM UP BADLY, IS LIKE
@TAPFOLKS50 IS LIKE HIS OWN O-LINE WANTS HIM TO GET INJURED OR DIE LOL.S =D DATS PRETTY FUKKED UP , BUT GROSSMAN HOPE U MAKE ANOTHER FRANCHISE BETTER OR MAYBE SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS , U COULDNT DO IT HEAR BUT U DID LEAD THE BEARS TO A GOOD PATH , DAMN I WISH HE WOULD OF STAYED IN CHICAGO =(
@TAPFOLKS50 You have got to be kidding right? A fundamental element that a QB needs is the ability to throw under duress and be accurate with the ball. Ill take cutler any day.Grossman was terrible and lacked the confidence to succeed here. He just isn't a starting caliber QB. Orton was much better!
@charlesmustang stop hating on grossman bitch, at least he didnt pussy out the game as cutler did , when we needed cutler the most he pussied out, he cant take a hit, grossman at least won the nfc championship and took us to the superbowl, cutler is overrated hanie is a way better qb than cutler is , kyle orton had a good few games but he sukks balls , dats y hes going to be warming the benches with his ass and dat your qb from florida gators is going to take over his spot forgot his name lol.s
@TAPFOLKS50 lol, if you think Cutler "pussied out", then maybe you should check the news updates more often, Cutler had a sprained MCL, and having had two torn ACLs myself from QB injuries, I can tell you no knee injury is easy to handle. Besides all of this, the coaches pulled Cutler because they didn't believe he could go for the game, he still wanted to play and was denied because of coach decision. Grow a brain.
@Spudman89 i know dat but if he was so fukking hurt why didnt dat bitch sit his ass down on the bench or took him to the locker room too fix his shit , bitch was walking and watching the game standing up , so yeah dats 1 reason i think he pussied out , if u can walk and stand up you can play , he didnt hurt his arm or fingers , cutlers a pussy, he just didnt want to get embarrased cuz he couldnt do shit in the game , hanie did a way better job, if i was the manager of the bears i would fire him
@TAPFOLKS50 Hahaha!! You two must be related! Grossman is just not a starting caliber QB, sorry but confidence means a lot and if Im correct which I know I am, he definitely has only about 3 or 4 more TDS than he does INT's. Both Cutler and Orton are better statistically and its no contest really. SO just open your mouth and release the penis ok buddy. Can u breath now? Also I am a loyal Bears fan born and raised in CHicago! Im just not delusional!
@charlesmustang WHO GIVES A FUKK ABOUT STATISTICS AS LONG AS THEY LEAD U TO THE BIG GAME , AND DATS WAT GROSSMAN DID BUT DIDNT GET TO FINISH IT, CUTLER ALMOST LEAD US TO THE BIG GAME BUT HE PUSSIED OUT , HIS A GOOD QB BUT HIS WAY OVERRATED LIKE 2009 SEASON HE WAS WORSE THAN GROSSMAN COULD EVER BE , AND ORTON HES ALWAYS GOING TO WARM THE BENCHES WITH HIS BUNS CUZ NOW HES NOT THE CALIBER STARTING QB , HE SUKS ASS. I HOPE GROSSMAN COULD BE TEACHED HOW TO HANDLE PRESSURE HE FIXES DAT AND HES GOOD
@TAPFOLKS50 Ummm I would be more inclined to say that our defense and running game played a bigger part than Sexy Rexy LOL (So weak). I was rooting for him to succeed but honestly the truth is...he is not a starting QB in the NFL. Hell if I said that Cutler just needs to manage his decisions why wouldn't I take him over Rex. Bigger Arm, faster, taller, and stronger! That point u made is invalid. Orton makes better decisions than both, just doesn't have the intangibles. Rex is in a distant 3rd!!
Oh my god this is so great to find this community of Grossman supporters that now seems to be coming out of hiding... I do not care what anyone says Rex has a lot of talent and a lot of touch on his throws. Im from Indiana so have been big supporter of him since he was in highschool and then at Florida. I still can not believe what ended up happening to him in Chicago, the fans turned on him and then it seemed like the entire media just followed along, and it became out of control
I'm not "drinking the Rex Haterade" here but in my opinion the only reason why he was given so much shit is because he totally fucked the Bears in the Superbowl. I mean, when you have a run game with Thomas Jones and a spectacular defense.. He was basically asked to not screw it up. But we all know how that went. Like I said, i'm not hating on him. I think he could be a starter for a team and lead them back to the promise land. If he does, hopefully he'll have a better game.
@Ipwnbetchez you can actually attribute the Super Bowl loss to poor defensive play and turnovers made by players other than Rex like Gabe Reid and Cedric Benson. Olin Kreutz had a lot to do with the muffed snaps in the superbowl as well, which either resulted in the ball being turned over or a loss on the play. 1 player never LOSES a game, it's a team sport for a reason.
@Spudman89 Yeah that's true. I didn't even account for the center. But either way, QB's in the NFL are loved or hated.. It's too bad he was hated by the majority of the fans cuz like I said, I think he is a good Quarter Back and hope he does good with the Redskins.
@Spudman89 rough man the muffed snaps were not Kreutz's fault it is more along the line of new QB syndrome where the new QB isn't in sync with his center (making it either coach or nobodies fault). And the defense played fine that game the Colts shredded all defenses that year and the bears kept it close most of the game. Rex might not be to blame but if he hadn't started they would have had a better chance.
I'm a skins fan and I loved mcnabb but im intrested in seeing his development. 2 years in kyle shannahans offence. 2 years with schaub and schaub was dirty. Im not saying rex is gonna be like schaub but he deserves a chance to start. I hope he does well too.
The way I feel is, no matter how he does agaisnt dallas im not gonna turn on him yet. Dallas has a tough pass rush D and its a road game. But he definately deserves a chance if mcnabb is gonna have the same numbers that rex did.
im a packers fan, but a grossman fan too, i was actually hoping the packers would grab him to back up arod, i always hope grossman gets playing time every week, chicago is just a harsh city to play for, grossman doesnt deserve the stupid critisizm, when ron turner let grossman play, he did good, when turner changed the gameplan, grossman choked, plus the bears oline ew
@Spudman89 its about time, hahaha, last season they were on pace to break the "getting sacked" record, but thats all they r good at, they r horrible at run block
@nickgt111 I think he was so good the first 7 games of the super bowl year. Amazingly good... Michael Vick Good. I hope he gets back to that again. I think some coach or else our Bears fans ruined him. But hopefully he will find the inspiration again. This is an amazing collection of plays.
Wow he actually looked like he knew what he was doing....when the guy was wide open and the other team had no defense (Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle, Minnesota in 2006...) Yeah he was ssoooooooo great. Why not show his highlights against the Patriots, or the Steelers, or good defenses??? Hmmm, that's real hard to figure out...
@Zypen92 When the guy was wide open? Did you watch the video? Because there are plenty of times where he fires a pass into tight coverage and completes the pass.
This is such a nice video. Look at some of the passes he made, unreal. I am a Bears fan for life but I will admit they f'd up. He got the shaft in Chicago. Nobody realizes how messed up that offense was, terrible line and coordinators and lazy receivers. He did not deserve to go through what he did I mean he led them to the Super Bowl. I truly hope he starts again and beats the Bears because they ruined his career.
Rex Grossman was a mediocre QB. But whenever I thought of the Bears, I thought Rex Grossman. Oh well, I kinda got used to seeing him as a Bear. Too bad he screwed up in that Super Bowl.
Honestly its people like you that ruined this guy. You don't get it. It was horrible coaching that lost them the Super Bowl. Remember Chris Harris blowing coverage on Wayne? And it was raining outside. The Colts had the right gameplan by throwing short passes all day. Go ahead and watch for yourself Manning didnt throw deep he threw dump offs all day. The Colts won because the Bears continued to call bombs and give up on running in the pouring rain. Not Rex's fault at all
@soccerstud03427 I have told people that Grossman is good. But they deny it. I think the man will get to start again with the Redskins. With the way Shanahan did McNabb, I don't know if McNabb will return for 2011. So that leaves Grossman is thrown, given the fact that he knows Kyle Shanahan's offensive system. I don't think Redskins will be drafting QB's because we need O-Linemen. If we don't get Cutler, Grossman will become a starter.
@Hollywood1127 wat makes u think ur gettin cutler?....he loves mike martz, the coaching staff,we're treating him well and hes happy in chicago we're 7-3 on a roll...ppl say he sucks but like rex's case...its all oline...remember cutler with denvers oline? he was amazing give him that oline with us and we'll dominate
Rex was a good quarter back but he didn't take the Bears to the Super Bowl. He fell apart at the Cardinals game and was never the same again. Defense, Hester and Gould took the Bears to the Super Bowl that year. If Orton continued to play in the 05 post season and not have been replaced by Rex the Bears may have actually won the Super Bowl.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you are stupid rex grossman SUCKS.......you just said he took the bear to the superbowl in 2006 and he made them lost, throw only interceptions, you can say That GROSSMAN IS A GOD HAND OFF
It always pisses me off to hear supposed Bears fans bitching about a QB. Pass protection hasn't been consistent but these casual football fans only know how to rag a QB like he's responsible for making miracles. I just hope Rex knows he wasn't completely unappreciated in Chicago.
@richig761 Best? They were better perhaps good but they haven't had a decent stretch where they've been consistent. My point was that casual fans quickly blame the QB position and the head coach. Usually there is much more to it. This year Cutler broke franchise records while getting sacked more than anybody else in the league. Even before the media jumped on his back after the Packers Divisional playoff game people in Chicago were talking shit.
@jos7886 First off... I agree completely on Cutler. Second of all... Yes, the Bears O-line was considered ONE of the best that year. Easily the most experienced. Almost 30 combined pro bowls between Kruetz, Tait, and Ruben Brown alone. With all of them still near the top of their game. It wasn't until next year they fell apart. As far as Rex goes... Name one other QB in NFL history who was six foot tall and immobile? I rest my case.
@richig761 kurt warner, brett farve, vinny testaverde, jp losman, dan fouts, chad pennington, drew bledsoe, jake delhomme, bob avellini, and grossman is 6'1".
And Kruetz admitted that the first fumble was his fault because he lost his grip on the ball due to the rain.
@EMoneyDJ All of the QB's you named had great pocket presence, and moved well in the pocket. Except for Avellini and Losman... Only problem is those two weren't successful. LOL JP Losman... WTF??? And Rex Grossman is NOT 6"1. He's listed at barely over 6 feet, and announcers use to say he's about 5"11. Also, I never even brought up Rex's fumble in the SB. So I have no idea why you brought that up. Also, center's take the blame 99 percent of the time anyway. So that doesn't prove anything.
this motherfucker wasnt playin like this with us in DC wth?

Hes up and down but I think the dallas game with 4 tds was one of his best ones

yea is that why Rex became the first Bear QB to throw over 3000 yards and 20 TDs in the same season?

@1236sweetiepea you obviously dont know anything about me and i've been watching the Bears play my whole life and like i said fuck Rex! so if you dont think i didnt know that? well hes the only Bear qb to throw over 3000 yards in 2 straight seasons but he wont touch Kramers records of 29 TDs and 10 INTs, and passer rating. Cutler would need to complete over 65% of his passes to even remotely get close to it

Honestly, I am a huge Grossman guy. Not because I think he's a great QB, but because he was a class act through all the bull shit he took in Chicago. However, I'd like you to name ONE QB in NFL history 6"0 tall and immobile who was successful.... yeah... you can't answer that.

TAPFOLKS50 1 year ago
@TAPFOLKS50 You have got to be kidding right? A fundamental element that a QB needs is the ability to throw under duress and be accurate with the ball. Ill take cutler any day.Grossman was terrible and lacked the confidence to succeed here. He just isn't a starting caliber QB. Orton was much better!
charlesmustang 1 year ago
@charlesmustang stop hating on grossman bitch, at least he didnt pussy out the game as cutler did , when we needed cutler the most he pussied out, he cant take a hit, grossman at least won the nfc championship and took us to the superbowl, cutler is overrated hanie is a way better qb than cutler is , kyle orton had a good few games but he sukks balls , dats y hes going to be warming the benches with his ass and dat your qb from florida gators is going to take over his spot forgot his name lol.s
TAPFOLKS50 1 year ago
@TAPFOLKS50 lol, if you think Cutler "pussied out", then maybe you should check the news updates more often, Cutler had a sprained MCL, and having had two torn ACLs myself from QB injuries, I can tell you no knee injury is easy to handle. Besides all of this, the coaches pulled Cutler because they didn't believe he could go for the game, he still wanted to play and was denied because of coach decision. Grow a brain.
Spudman89 1 year ago
@Spudman89 i know dat but if he was so fukking hurt why didnt dat bitch sit his ass down on the bench or took him to the locker room too fix his shit , bitch was walking and watching the game standing up , so yeah dats 1 reason i think he pussied out , if u can walk and stand up you can play , he didnt hurt his arm or fingers , cutlers a pussy, he just didnt want to get embarrased cuz he couldnt do shit in the game , hanie did a way better job, if i was the manager of the bears i would fire him
TAPFOLKS50 1 year ago
@TAPFOLKS50 Hahaha!! You two must be related! Grossman is just not a starting caliber QB, sorry but confidence means a lot and if Im correct which I know I am, he definitely has only about 3 or 4 more TDS than he does INT's. Both Cutler and Orton are better statistically and its no contest really. SO just open your mouth and release the penis ok buddy. Can u breath now? Also I am a loyal Bears fan born and raised in CHicago! Im just not delusional!
charlesmustang 1 year ago
I HOPE GROSSMAN COULD BE TEACHED HOW TO HANDLE PRESSURE HE FIXES DAT AND HES GOOD
TAPFOLKS50 1 year ago
@TAPFOLKS50 Ummm I would be more inclined to say that our defense and running game played a bigger part than Sexy Rexy LOL (So weak). I was rooting for him to succeed but honestly the truth is...he is not a starting QB in the NFL. Hell if I said that Cutler just needs to manage his decisions why wouldn't I take him over Rex. Bigger Arm, faster, taller, and stronger! That point u made is invalid. Orton makes better decisions than both, just doesn't have the intangibles. Rex is in a distant 3rd!!
charlesmustang 1 year ago
Oh my god this is so great to find this community of Grossman supporters that now seems to be coming out of hiding... I do not care what anyone says Rex has a lot of talent and a lot of touch on his throws. Im from Indiana so have been big supporter of him since he was in highschool and then at Florida. I still can not believe what ended up happening to him in Chicago, the fans turned on him and then it seemed like the entire media just followed along, and it became out of control
comradebounce 1 year ago
HE WAS SO GOOD WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!
MrBLuEx69 1 year ago
I'm not "drinking the Rex Haterade" here but in my opinion the only reason why he was given so much shit is because he totally fucked the Bears in the Superbowl. I mean, when you have a run game with Thomas Jones and a spectacular defense.. He was basically asked to not screw it up. But we all know how that went. Like I said, i'm not hating on him. I think he could be a starter for a team and lead them back to the promise land. If he does, hopefully he'll have a better game.
Ipwnbetchez 1 year ago
@Ipwnbetchez you can actually attribute the Super Bowl loss to poor defensive play and turnovers made by players other than Rex like Gabe Reid and Cedric Benson. Olin Kreutz had a lot to do with the muffed snaps in the superbowl as well, which either resulted in the ball being turned over or a loss on the play. 1 player never LOSES a game, it's a team sport for a reason.
Spudman89 1 year ago 2
@Spudman89 Yeah that's true. I didn't even account for the center. But either way, QB's in the NFL are loved or hated.. It's too bad he was hated by the majority of the fans cuz like I said, I think he is a good Quarter Back and hope he does good with the Redskins.
Ipwnbetchez 1 year ago
@Spudman89 rough man the muffed snaps were not Kreutz's fault it is more along the line of new QB syndrome where the new QB isn't in sync with his center (making it either coach or nobodies fault). And the defense played fine that game the Colts shredded all defenses that year and the bears kept it close most of the game. Rex might not be to blame but if he hadn't started they would have had a better chance.

Grossman 25/43, 322 yds, 7.5 avg, 4 TDs, 2 INTs, 93.4 QBRtg

Wow he actually looked like he knew what he was doing....when the guy was wide open and the other team had no defense (Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle, Minnesota in 2006...) Yeah he was ssoooooooo great. weezerbh 1 year ago
I truly hope he starts again and beats the Bears because they ruined his career.
mousebagg 1 year ago
Rex Grossman was a mediocre QB. But whenever I thought of the Bears, I thought Rex Grossman. Oh well, I kinda got used to seeing him as a Bear. Too bad he screwed up in that Super Bowl.
SoulBlazerZX 1 year ago
@SoulBlazerZX
Not Rex's fault at all
mousebagg 1 year ago
man i watched this video to show my friend how bad rex was but man was i wrong
soccerstud03427 1 year ago
@soccerstud03427 I have told people that Grossman is good. But they deny it. I think the man will get to start again with the Redskins. With the way Shanahan did McNabb, I don't know if McNabb will return for 2011. So that leaves Grossman is thrown, given the fact that he knows Kyle Shanahan's offensive system. I don't think Redskins will be drafting QB's because we need O-Linemen. If we don't get Cutler, Grossman will become a starter.
Hollywood1127 1 year ago
@Hollywood1127 wat makes u think ur gettin cutler?....he loves mike martz, the coaching staff,we're treating him well and hes happy in chicago we're 7-3 on a roll...ppl say he sucks but like rex's case...its all oline...remember cutler with denvers oline? he was amazing give him that oline with us and we'll dominate
wajeh77 1 year ago
Rex was a good quarter back but he didn't take the Bears to the Super Bowl. He fell apart at the Cardinals game and was never the same again. Defense, Hester and Gould took the Bears to the Super Bowl that year. If Orton continued to play in the 05 post season and not have been replaced by Rex the Bears may have actually won the Super Bowl.

It always pisses me off to hear supposed Bears fans bitching about a QB. Pass protection hasn't been consistent but these casual football fans only know how to rag a QB like he's responsible for making miracles. I just hope Rex knows he wasn't completely unappreciated in Chicago.
jos7886 1 year ago 8
@jos7886 yeah cause look at cutler now he was better in Denver and now bear fans are bitching cause he isnt good enough.
TheBerryProjects 1 year ago
@jos7886 In 2006 the Bears offensive line was widely considered the best in football.
richig761 1 year ago
@richig761 Best? They were better perhaps good but they haven't had a decent stretch where they've been consistent. My point was that casual fans quickly blame the QB position and the head coach. Usually there is much more to it. This year Cutler broke franchise records while getting sacked more than anybody else in the league. Even before the media jumped on his back after the Packers Divisional playoff game people in Chicago were talking shit.
jos7886 1 year ago

EMoneyDJ 10 months ago
@EMoneyDJ All of the QB's you named had great pocket presence, and moved well in the pocket. Except for Avellini and Losman... Only problem is those two weren't successful. LOL JP Losman... WTF??? And Rex Grossman is NOT 6"1. He's listed at barely over 6 feet, and announcers use to say he's about 5"11. Also, I never even brought up Rex's fumble in the SB. So I have no idea why you brought that up. Also, center's take the blame 99 percent of the time anyway. So that doesn't prove anything.
richig761 10 months ago
