Thanks for sharing this but one problem...on a few movies (my own dvds before anyone has a go at me), I get the message on the PSP "This video cannot be played". Any suggestions to get around this?

Plug your PSP into the computer, check to make sure the video went into the 100ANV01 and not 100MNV01 folder.

hey is there anyway that u could get the menu on the psp movie so you that u have scene selection, special features, ect? also i dont know if this has happened with any1 else but if u fully compress the dvd in dvd shrink when dark parts of the movie come up then it makes it go very blocky and starts 2 pixalate:( i would recomend compressing to 70% at the most from tryin doffernt percentages myself :)

like 1MB. But when you rip the dvd, the movie is about 2.5GB. Then you convert it to mp4 format and its about 300MB

I've always wondered, if you rip a movie from a disk does it mean that you've litterally 'ripped' it and you are unable to watch it on the disk anymore?

No, ripping basically means to copy. Nothing at all happens to the original DVD.

So essentially, someone could rent a movie, copy it, and return it. (but that is illegal)

no, because when your ripping it off the dvd, with little or no compression, its meant for playing on a large resolution screen, so even if its on the lowest compression, you wont be able to notice it on the psp's small screen
