@unown56 Because of environmental laws and the Global Warming Hoax being forced down everyones throats...they are much more efficient in terms of power but they are not more efficient in terms of fuel consumption and emissions. An American company has come out with a new 2 stroke called a direct injected 2 stroke that has all the power and is actually more fuel efficient and emmision friendly than the 4 strokes are now...they will soon be applied to motorcycles and 4 Strokes will B gone ovrnight

not neccessarily, all it takes is a good rider to get the bike into the powerband goin up the hill, and generally 2 strokes have more horsepower stock, and are easier and cheaper to modify than four strokes, when you get up into the larger classes tho like the bmw hp2, its obvious it will do better than a smaller 250 2 stroke.

ahh... like in HORSEPOWER? How's this, a 1992 KX500 2-stroke made 60HP off the showroom floor. There isn't a 450 4-stroke there yet! They're only have more powerfull engines when they have double the displacement, that's why 250 2-strokes are forced to race against 450 4-strokes. 4strokes are like tampons, every pussy has one!

Its all rider preference. If you are a big guy and an extra 15 pounds won't bother you, then a 4t might be your preference. If you are smaller, then maybe a 2t. While at erzberg, I would go for a 2t simply because lifting a bike over rocks gets tiring, and then that extra 15 pounds may come into play. But generally I'm a four stroke guy. Great smooth power, and loads of torque. And by the way explosive power isn't something your looking for when riding enduros.

The best answer to this is to look at what wins erzberg. 2 smokes are wonderful machines and are a more technical challenge just to ride, but 4 stroke technology has really put them at the top of enduro racing.

Give me a cr250 over a crf250 any day of the week though.
