I think this is the one David Gans included in his 2-part "The Dead Do Dylan" special edition of Dead To The World on KPFA Berkeley (94.1 FM) back in 1997.
i was working 2nd shift in a factory, when a storm blew out the power. sent home to find my order of backstage pass and one from the vault arrived!!! smoked up some weed and spent the rest of the night GETTING ON THE BUS !!!!!! and this is where it got me????? hahahah LOVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD !!!!!
Thanks for posting! "Backstage Pass" had some good stuff. The "Hard to Handle" is my favorite version of all time. The energy is off the charts...anyone out there that can post that?
Where is this from? This is great..thanks for posting. I am guessing this is sometime between 93 and Jerry's passing in '95. Any details would be great.
This is a proof that these guys are musicians in the top of the line. They could take on anything from real rock to folk songs and balads and they do it with pure PERFECTION.
This is beautiful. We were indeed lucky to catch this tune just for a moment in the 1985 repertoire. The Richmond '85 show, by the way, is one of the greatest sets in GD history. It was probably my favorite of all the 60 or 70 shows I saw 1983-1995.
Where is this video from? It's rather nicely done. Is there more??? I was at the BCT acoustic show in 94 but don't recall this tune, and would have remembered all the cameras.
I did catch She Belongs to Me in 85, once or twice for sure. Yeah, I totally agree tomahawkcounty, we were lucky.
It's from a VHS tape they put out right after Brent died called Backstage Pass. As far as I know it never made it to DVD. Maybe try ebay. Had some real cool shit on it.
god bless grateful dead!

I also saw the Dead perform this song in Philly and Richmond (and one more somewhere else). They played it only in 1985, and 8 or 9 times total.

Great stuff. I got the chance to see the Dead perform this song twice in Richmond and Philly in 1985 - what a treat. Jerry sang lead.
terrapinbobby 3 years ago
I also saw the GD perfom this song in Richmond & Philly '85 - as well as one other somewhere else.
They GD played the song only in 1985, and only around 8 or 9 times total, so you and I got lucky
