As a Kurd I really feel insulted for a very simple reason: this dance is everything but Kurdish. Not a single Kurd dances this way. This is a waste of Kurdish music. Don't take it personal, it's important to people to be represented fairly and accurately. If you cannot, then it would much better not to do it at all. It's called misrepresentation. Stick to your Babakaram which is terrific, and I love it when it is done properly. Cheers!

The music is Kurdish and the dance has some common elements with the authentic kurdish dances. It is an innovative approach to presenting Kurdish dance in a choreographed way. You will not see these movements in Kurdistan and in villages. nevertheless, it is a nice adaptation of the spirit of Kurdish dances.
