Ah, a thing of beauty. I believe it is better to have a steamer out on the road doing what it was built to do instead of gathering dust in a museum. It gives you a better sense of what the past was like when you see the engine live and breathe.
the Poles are showing the way again !!! yes with some help, but only in Poland, Poland is leading the world again, get those steam locos out of those museums and use them, they can pay for themselves as the Poles have proved, greetings from wales!!!
This is a wonderful experiment proven successful and exhilarating. Like the whisper in the film "Field of Dreams" "If you build them..they will come"! Using these well loved machines are the way to return people to the romantic era of train travel. Not every train passenger needs to go in excess of 100 mph/160kmh. Imagine if other major countries dedicated a few rail lines to steam locomotives not just as tourist attractions but real functioning commuter links? More jobs, less oil consumption

It's like...They're free, you know? The engines, I mean. Instead of being preserved and "tamed" this is the real thing, engines doing what they were designed to do.
I love Poland. They would have shot Dr Beeching. My local station is Biala Podlaska still with its Freight yards, coal dock and shunters. My local station in the UK is Cleckheaton central...thanks for shutting it in 1965 now a Tesco. Rot in hell Beeching, Long life polish steam
its quite problematic, cause how can you drive a train full of passengers, when actually you have no idea about that?'short lesson' is not enough.thrilled woman sitting by the throttle is talking and not looking at the signs.not now! I dont mean,Im against mr Howard but it should be controlled,so it is safe and not harming for the locos(!!!).
Harming to the locos? I'll assume you are a Polish dude. Trust me, nothing these Brits are doing is doing any harm to these locomotives. Also that woman looked away for two seconds. I highly doubt she missed any important signs along the way. My gripe is there are far too many misconceptions about railroading. Running a locomotive is not this disciplined act like they make it out to be. Most railroaders are fucking morons. I haved worked with at least 85% morons. They got their jobs by nepotism.
Its great a few steam trains dont pullute that much & we have plenty of coal still, whereas oil requires allot of energy to turn into petrol and is running out. The british have always loved steam, and always will since beeching heretically systematically destroyed 60% of our railway network, if only he just mothballed it, but no he spent money detroying it, Poland must be one of the only places in the world where people can go & experience running a real steam train service.

Fissionesque, you don't get it, they pay for the opportunity to run a steam engine because it is what they love, it is their hobby and passion.
