Get your facts straight. Buys from more expensive providers that provide electricity with almost no carbon footprint. He and his wife also primarily work at home, necessitating home offices which, in turn, require much more power. That, coupled with his larger-than-average home, security system, and appliances that use electricity rather than gas it seems completely legit to have a high electric bill.

Which begs the question, why do we even fear a warming of the Globe? Common sense indicates this would only mean an INCREASE in habitability for a majority of the world's species (plant AND animal)... Rate of sea level rise is slower than building development, etc.

No, it's not. A big house only has a carbon footprint if it uses gas or coal power. His house uses methane and only for certain things and to a lower degree than most homes. He also buys almost twice the number of carbon credits than he needs to for his personal gas use.
As for the jet trips I agree that he shouldn't take many but sometimes they're necessary.
You still haven't provided ANY proof of his mansion being "insanely wasteful." You're grasping at straws.

He installed all the "hot" green items, including geothermal which tells me he's doing this for SHOW...
I've taken energy conservation courses at UC Berkeley (go figure) and Geothermal is hardly efficient LOL!

Really, all these "green" improvements he's made haven't done jack shit...
He'd have gotten more efficiency just by doing a once over of all the insulation in his home and making sure there are no leaks... This is proven to reduce energy waste by a HUGE factor.
