England always come so overhyped, but they probably are better placed than most European teams-France are a trainwreck, Italy are over the hill, Netherlands arent what they were. I thought Germany were a relative flop in 08. Still not sure Spain have the tournament pedigree to win a world cup.

Either way, no European team has ever won outside of Europe, history tends to repeat itself. Its Brazil in the pole position as usual.

I agree with your point about Owen, but Beckham can also make an impact his crossing and dead ball delievery is unrivalled in the England squad.

Capello does not choose on Commercial Value he chooses based on a players current and what they can bring to the team.

No one can play a 50 yard pass with such accuracy time and time again, so if we are looking that final ball a goal down in South Africa hes our man to deliver and Owen is the one to find the space and finish.

You can't knock the guy for his English skills, I mean he taught himself to speak English within a month of arriving in the country, that's a pretty big achievement. And that is without mentioning what he's achieved as a coach, England are at their best and most efficient for a lot of years. Get Darren Bent in the squad though fabs.
