  • not trying to offend you or anyone else, but in my personal opinion i think anthias like that look and swim alot like goldfish. like the 20 cent ones you use as feeders. i know up close they are very pretty but from a distance they look like feeders.

  • you're entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong...lol

  • lol THAT COMMENT WAS 9 MONTHS OLD BUT OK

  • wow...beautiful tank! I'm looking to turn my fish only setup into a FOWLR (fish only with live rock) setup soon and maybe a full blown reef tank some day. Can you please give me some tips for corals and live rock health? Thanks! Just reply to this comment or PM me.

  • Beautiful work on that tank. I had a reef tank, but it is such an undertaking to keep it healthy. I switched to a marine tank with an artificial reef and have Yellow Tangs, one Pacific Tang and a Flame Angel. Much less to worry about.

I envy yours though, just stunning.

  • very good.. thanks for ur post in my reef page! kiss from italy

  • very nice tank well done!!!

  • how big is your tank in centre metres

  • You have a tone of fish.

  • Is that a crosshatch trigger? Very nice tank.

  • what kind of filtration method are u using?

  • cool fish,nice tank,i love fishes

  • Keep the calcium at like 430

  • purple up is just calcium....so if u use it dont put in other calcium additives or else calicium be way up

  • looks great! beautiful tank! if anyone is interested i just posted a video on a diy surge device. i love it.

  • Awesome tank! Well done.

  • has anyone here ever used purple up? does it work?

  • nice

  • nice tank could use a little more room though for all of the aquadic life

  • Looks a bit overstocked with fish. Tank looks great though

  • awsome tank

  • great tank come check mine out on a site called reefbuzz

  • does anyone know what type of anthias those are??

  • Lyretail...

  • too bad i secretly dropped a deuce in it

  • Your tank looks amazing. How much did you pay for reefs, and do you buy little pieces at a time? I was thinking about setting up a 35 gallon to start. What are some of the thinks I'd need besides ph, ultralum 5000k ultraviolet uv sterilizer powerhead, do you have to buy bags of salt every few weeks after making water changes? Also what is the best test kit for testing ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. salinity of water?

  • You don't need all that crap, just get a good protein skimmer or 2, a pound of live rock for every gallon of water, good lighting power compacts or better if you have the money metal halides. Couple powerheads and thats it. Start adding organisms slowly a few every week or so, Cheap damsels, coral frags.

  • do u have aim? i need soem help with my tank

  • Beautiful setup.

  • What does it cost to setup a reef tank that size with that much life? I'm looking to start one soon

  • Starting a reef tank is very expensive. You have your lighting, filtration, heater, live rock, sand, test kits etc. Metal Halide lighting - $1000+ Sump filtration - $300+ Heater - $50+ sand - $80+ test kits $80+ live rock - 2 lbs per gallon - $900 ($5.99 a pound average) Plus the tank and stand itself which could be around $500 PLUS the life in it which could be thousands. Its a big commitment.
  • thanks

  • Ryan, if you paid $1000 for lighting, someone ripped you off. I paid a little over $300 for lighting for my 75 gallon and yes it's a very good lighting system. Also, a heater isn't necessary. I've never used one. All in all it can get rather pricy if you have a sizable tank.

  • 1000 for metal halide?

thats reasonable for me. Where do you live?,that might be the reason in price difference.

Using a heater is necessary if your house is below 80 and your halides cannot heat it.

  • I live in Louisiana. My house stays between 69-75 degrees.

  • Heaters are a good Idea if you live in a climate where the winters get cold. My tank rises to just over 30deg.C at times in summer, and would drop well below 20 during winter without a heater. You must be close to equater I guess.

  • Oops, I should have read a little further before commenting. You already addressed this one =)

  • Yeah um, $1000 for lighting; you got ripped off pretty bad if that's what you paid. You can buy a good enough lighting system for about half the price, if not then less. You dont need 2lbs LR for every gallon. It's more like 1.2lbs/gallon. To save money you can just make your own stand. Your welcome.

  • Your a fag why would you even bother getting into this.

I live in Ontario, thats the average price for halides tax in.

and 2lbs per gallon is the rule of thumb.

  • I live there too dumbass. Way to go! Just think a little smarter and get them cheaper online, FUCK.

  • guess yours arnt top quality.

  • thats awsome, its a fun hobby, just make sure you research a little before you start, it helps.

  • tank looks perfectly stocked to me....... 2 tangs in a 75 might be pushing it a bit, but as long as its a long 75 and the filtration is there you should be fine.

  • i think it just seems like theres alot fo fish cause there all out and about usually some fish are out and others are hiding looks alright to me

  • im not quite sure but is that to many fish or no ???

  • Possibly, especially when the tangs grow to full size!

  • Great tank. Curious about the size as appears overstocked?

  • it is a 75g tank with a 50g sump with an H&S A150-F2001 skimmer and i never had a problem with nitrates. there are 2 tangs, a trigger and a few small fish that I don't believe dont add as much to the bioload as bigger fish. my tank also has a refugium which helps with nutrient export

  • Fantastic variety of fish. Sounds like you have a great setup. If you can keep the nitrates stable then good on you, enjoy the fish

  • yo i checked out sargassums the only ones i could find are like 100 150 bucks id much rather go with the blue throats (at like 50 bucks) or a pink tail (very varied prices) but thanks for ur info anyway

  • Good job. A bit overstocked with fish, no? Is it 75 g?

How often do you have to change water to keep you NO3 at 0?

  • thanks tbxtaicho. ill look into pinks but ive never seen a sargassum at a lfs.

  • looks like a 90 to 100 gal.the um current maker is just to big it looks like its flowing at a 120gallon an hour rate.usualy to simulate the current you want 1 third you tank for the rate.also if you want to have the fish looking natural all the time they have a clear film that yo can see them and they can't see you.works wonderful onmine.

  • is that a blue throat trigger those things are the shit. there like the only triggers ive known to ba reef safe to some defree

  • Pink tails are also reef safe so are saggrasium triggers.

  • how many gallons is it

  • Perfect! I was seriously looking into the 14k Hamiltons but didnt know if they look good or not. Now I do! Are they SE or DE? Any actinics? How about reflector?

  • they're SE bulbs and i use Lumenarc reflectors. It's supplemented by 2 URI 110w Superactinic VHO's run by PFO ballasts

  • What MH bulb are you using? I really like the color temperature of your tank.

  • i use 250W 14k hamilton bulbs powered by Icecap electronic ballasts

  • Great fish selection and unbeleivable coral. I really think the crazy flow in a reef tank is so important. Seems like the fish like it too.

  • you lighting must have metal hallides! you can tell how the water glistens.

  • does ur bluethroat ever pick at any of ur corals or any inverts u have like shrimp snails and crabs also stars

  • Nice tank man, good stocking selection. Try a dwarf angel like a flame angel. I know their risky with reef's but they are amazing fish

  • Very good looking tank :-)

  • Wow great tank. You must clean the glass a lot. Really amazing. I wish I had the time to upgrade my 55 to somthing larger. Thanks for sharing this.

  • wow how the heck do u maintain that??..i want that!!

  • LOLz man , iafter seeing thus vid said damm that was to short , and went to name to see ur profil and the comment is what i was tellin to my bro :p

Just leave the camera for for 5 mins and leave the room , wanna see the blue tang - balistae fight :p in few words , WE WANT MORE !!!

  • Wow really nice tank how you keep it that clean mine just gets loads of algae but I have loads of filtration

  • how much gallons is that tank??

  • love the acro and clams, keep up the good husbandry!

  • Beautiful tank, looks like you got some crazy flow in there!!

  • i didnt realise they were all compatible species...i only have 2 clownfish (pair) id love to have more.

  • jk again i dont have a reef tank

  • jk i only have a 500g tank with a reef

  • my pomocanthus navarchus died from my shark in my 1.5kgal tank

  • i see a maxijet mod!. This guy must be from RC ;D.

  • ROFL

  • i had a dojo long fish 2 tiger fish and two angelfish but they died

  • what kind of triggers are they and ur tnak is very nice iam upgrading to a 125

  • i have a male blue throat trigger and a sargassum trigger

  • wow.. How long has your tank been up?, What lighting requirement to inverts happy? I am so new marine tank, I have 90g just recently converted from fresh. Did you put all inverts in at same time? Anyways, nice set up! Thanks.

  • i upgraded to this tank March or April,i added all the livestock pretty slowly

and for everyone else who has asked here are the specs for my tank

  • Try cyclop eeze, my lyretail anthias liked it, before they were killed that is.

  • nice anthias, my blue tang killed my new anthias, Do they eat flake foods?. You know, your tank has to be bigger than 75 gal, I have a 72g and it looks much smaller than yours.

  • lol, it does look bigger since i don't have much lr in the display tank, i have it in the sump so there is more swimming space tank measurements are 48lx18wx22h if i remember correctly, my anthias only eat frozen mysis, i have been trying to switch them over to NLS or flake but no success yet

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • nice

  • Wow! Love the zoos and sps. Nice, Very nice

  • This is super impressive!! What size is this tank? I noticed the trigger- how does he fare in amongst the others? Kudos!! It looks great!!

  • it's a 75g tank, i have 2 triggers a male bluethroat and a male sargassum trigger, both are reef safe, they've never even bothered any of my inverts or my shrimps

  • Sooo- another question- were they the last animals added to the tank or did you just add them along the way as you added your other fish because my primary concern is the predatory nature of triggers in general?

  • i added them along the way, the chromis/regal tang/flame hawk fish and the anthias were added after the 2 triggers were already in the tank

  • i added most of my fish after i had my triggers, i haven't noticed any aggression whatsoever with them. The sailfin/anthias/flame hawk and one of my cleaners were all added after

  • Awesome tank. One of the best I've seen.
