  • LOL -- great video; what a goofy bunch.

what is the toy called [see 3:00 minute mark] that's great idea for a toy.

  • Jeremy:

The reason why it may be a bad idea with a Havanese is the dogs will bond with each other faster than you but taking them to training will change that. Dominance issues are only a problem if you have two alpha dogs. A good breeder will know who their submissives and alphas are. A good combo is one submissive and one alpha. Submissive only means it will not usually fight for status. Issue is house training. Always easier to do one at a time but doable.

  • Hi, talemaker. House training is going surprisingly well. They're bright. One's smaller than the other, and she was the clear dominant, but the larger (younger) one is gaining gumption, so I'm worried this could lead to problems. My main concern is the younger one has signs of separation anxiety. I've dealt with this before in a terripoo, but with two pups I'm wary that if I make the wrong move she'll shift her unhealthy attachment from me to the other pup. Thanks for your great advice.

  • loved the video they are all so cute...Liz

  • Liz: Thanks - nothing like a Havanese or two or three! ROFL!

  • Hi. I just got two Havanese pups, 9 weeks and 8 weeks (same dad, different moms). Looking on the net for training tips, though, I'm getting nervous (a lot of folks suggesting this is a bad idea, but nothing on Havanese pups in particular). I'd be very grateful if you could give me a tip or two; specifically, to avoid dominance issues do I really need to keep them separate for a year (for training, feeding, sleeping, walking, etc.), or is this more a concern with larger, more aggressive breads?
