  • the comments here always crack me up, they usually seem to be one person trying to show everyone else how smart they are and it makes them look silly and insecure.

Makes you wonder if they actually watched the video and have enough experience to know what they are seeing.

  • man, you guys actually get it, lol. I know from simple roughhousing with people way bigger than me, when they actually try to hurt me (choke me, etc.), relaxing and understanding on how to handle the stress is very key.

  • perten, I like your stuff. (but any chance you could find another song...?)

  • lol 3:19 Rodney King

  • Not even Rickson Gracie would take a fight to the ground at a bar or street!

  • how do you know? dont think for somebody else

  • I like it. Simple principles, but I haven't see them practiced like this before.

  • Taking deep breaths like that can actually send your body into shock, deep breathing is actually one of the WORST things you can do in a situation, it's a huge misconception. Taking controlled, normal breaths is the best way to calm down, deep breaths bring in too much oxygen, which actually slows your heartbeat and lowers your pulse and can cause numbness in the limbs. Not good things.

  • I'm not sure what you mean by deep breaths - systema advocates shallow breathing under stress

  • There was one part that looked like they were taking deep breaths, i could be mistaken, i didn't have the sound on. Still it is helpful advice fro people when they are in a situation where a friend gets hurt. People always seem to encourage them to take a deep breath to calm down, when actually they are unknowingly making the situation worse. Shallow breathing is a better technique, so it's good to see that they know what they are doing.

  • a very interesting video. the physical stress situations remind me a lot of my infantry training. however, what is the most intriguing is the recognition of the connection between the rational mind and the instinctive and emotional sides. this system appears to have some very deep roots...

  • What they do is nothing else than a sort of autogenic training (deep and controlled breathing and mental figurations ARE parts of autogenic training). If done properly it can take away the anticipatory anxiety of a fight, and you don't waste breath because of tachicardy (i do muay thai and training and IT WORKS). Do it wrong and you'll have overbreathing. To remove fear i'd better contact a SERIOUS psychoteraphist. Really... kicking a guy while he's doing pushups? What's that for?

  • systema is not a sport base art. it is meant to kill not make someone tap out!

  • What's the difference? Do you think a boxer, a thai fighter or a BJJ fighter couldn't kill someone?

You can't kill people quickly and easily with single strikes and neck breaks. You need control and it's only going to happen by repeated strikes or a choke. Possibly brutal neck cranks as well, but that needs really good control.

  • Boxing, Muay Thai and BJJ are sports! There is a huge difference between training your mind to destroy your oponent than to score points. Remember Muay Thai and BJJ come from styles who's purpose was to destroy not score points. Yes they could kill someone but after many seconds!! Combat fighting and sport fighting are too different! How many times does a BJJ fighter open up it's vulnerable areas?Too many but use the original Jujitsu and you don't fight on the ground.

  • what is the intro music called, track name, artist anything?

  • It doens't have a name it's just a piece of incidental music

  • Could you please send me the incidental music in mp3, if you have it, it would be awsome

  • im anxious to see a systema fighter fight in mma and shutup the naysayers once and for all

  • Aggressive focused? That's a weakness. (IMHO)

  • Great Training!

  • awesome video clip. usually martial artists hate being in a losing situation, its great to see how "investing in loss" can keep you balanced, calm and ready. awesome!
