It's been conifirmed that James Cameron will be directing the second & third Avatar Movies will begin making it after he and the screen writers & the cast together and get the budgets ready.
They'll be expecting to hit the screens about 3 yrs from now..yeah i know we'll have to wait til then folks, but it'll be worth the wait...i do hope they'll name the second movie "AVATAR: The Return to Pandora" or whatever cameron wants to named it.

You like movies like alien, others watch movies like titanic. Well I must admit, I didn't see "The Hurt Locker," but it's hard to imagine a film that is more important than Avatar...both for the technology that it has contributed to film making, and for reminding a generation to look beyond material goods and see what is more important.
And I must admit, I hate that "The Hurt Locker" won after that producer resorted to all those dirty tricks!
I loved Avatar...and I can't imagine I will enjoy "The Hurt Locker" anywhere near as much.

The Academy Awards have become a snooty film making festival...they seem to want to nominate the mainstream films that make film making viable, but they often turn away such movies when it comes to awards.
I mean, "Shakespeare In Love" beating "Saving Private Ryan" for Best Picture? Clearly the Oscars have been hijacked by mainstream hating celebs!
It's a -candy to the eye- movie. I celebrate the fact that it throws you into a hell of ride overflowed with entertainment... but Cameron decided to do it with a cliched story that really doesn't engage you that much, that's a fact. Impossible to win a competition against movies with themes and arguments that really drive you into something deeper about life, like Pixar's Up, even another Sci-Fi like District 9.
SCI-FI is my favorite movie genre. Avatar is really masterpiece - brilliant visual effects, unique storyline. Avatar is 100x times better than overrated Lord of the Rings and The Dark Knight. Sigourney Weaver was brilliant. The same with Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang.
Actually I prefer 80's and 90's films but such masterpieces like Avatar and The Passion of the Christ prove the opposite.
Well, the music from Avatar is superb. It's not all the time when I watch a movie for the first time do I want the entire soundtrack.
James Horner did a fantastic job with sound affects and instrumentation in composing for this movie--getting across the dangerous beauty of Pandora as well as percussion and tribal instruments for the tribal peoples.
So it just blows my mind that with such a great soundtrack, why use music NOT from the movie to promote the film?
I have seen this movie and it was amazing!! It's one of the best James Cameron films. This movie is certainly recommended, you will not be disappointed!

Just FYI--the first piece you hear on this trailer is NOT from Avatar. It appears nowhere in the movie, neither on the soundtrack.
It DOES appear on The Island directed by Michael Bay...at the end of the movie when all the clones are running out of the underground bunker.
Why use music for a movie trailer that's not from your movie?
