I resently had work done on the trans to tighten up the shifts and increase the stall. It still would never be a drag car but for what I wanted in the first place I'm satified. I started addressing some more weak points: suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires. It's a daily driver with better performance. If I want to race I have a souped up '85 Silverado with 400 hp for that.
The Sonta can be made quick but it takes alot of work. I was able to squeeze an extra 50 hp out of my '07 but it was done with alot of fabrication and money on the exhaust and engine but it's still way too slow because of the transmission. I'm trying to figure out what to do next to fix that. It won't be cheap if it's possible to fix that.
@TheTexasHitmen ditch the car. i am doing so with my 2009 limited V6. 249hp is okay, but 229tq is not. plus the tranny is crap, the seats horrible, the ride bad. great handling, and an excellent highway car, but it's got to go!!
That year Sonata is slow through first gear... after that is when it wakes up, but the Impreza is fast off the line and through first. Also, the Sonata V6s are all autos which is terrible for any sort of sprint.

Look it up, I have a v6 sonata and on highwaya mines with intake and exhaust stays with all the stock wrx and even some tuned, but i lose it around 95mph
@HammerSlammerThrash Didn't buy it as a tuning car, just decided on every vehicle I own to put Intake and Exhaust on for mileage and for the extra performance. It's a great reliable luxury sedan.

@HammerSlammerThrash telling u bro the sonata 2.0T is probably gunna be a tuning car especially the hyundai genesis. i think they are adding a DI Turbo to the 2012 hyundai genesis coupe
@blackshadow9115 no el problema es que el sonata tiene alli todas las de perder... el subaru es un motor muy liviano, de carroceria igual, esta hecho para eso, tiene turbo de fabrica y es sincronico o sea croche el croche ayuda mucho en arrancada, el sonata un motor v6 pesado con mucha fuerza es pesado, PESADO o sea en todo es pesado
@blackshadow9115 pero ponlos a correr codo a codo de 140 km/h pa arriba y ves que por ley asi sea pesado el sonata se lo lleva hasta los 280km/h xq a mi no me vas a llegar diciendo que un 2.5 se lleva en via a un 3.3 jamas ni nunca asi tenga turbu, nitro, tira peo tenga lo que tenga en via se lo lleva y ese 2.5 no me pasa al sonata despues de 200 el sonata sigue subiendo como un caballo mientras q el subaru va a ir pariendo despues de los 220 el turbo despues de esa velocidad no lo va a ayudar!

Stupid race IMO...I think that Sonata has no chance vs Subaru. Sonata is a slow sedan for a city, while WRX being a rally car...

No. 1) Subaru Impreza is a 2.5L turbo and not is a heavy. 2) Sonata is v6 but so heavy

AWD helps alot. But I think if you do a race from a roll, the Sonata would become a strong challenge. Both nice cars.
