So glad you put this video up. Was going back to visit this year in Sept, but I broke my heel in 4 places so looks like it will be next summer. My great aunt lived in Edderton. My great grandfather lived in Tain and worked as a drainer. In todays words maybe that means a plummer. It feels weird knowing I grew up in the USA but when I am in Tain I feel like I belong there. Maybe because the people are so nice! Don from New Hampshire USA.
@deeteenh A drainer was the guy who dug the drainage ditches along the sides of the roads. My partner's great grandfather and his father were road contractors in the area so maybe they knew him!
@Hank2wheels I was there in Sept 2009 for a week. Saw the house of my grandfathers. He grew up there on Chapel St. Didn't realize there was another distillery there. Thanks for putting this on here. Every street you drove on I had walked on and brings back great memories. Hope to go back in Sept of 2011. And I thought we had old towns here in the states! Tain goes way back. Don Taylor of New Hampshire, USA.
@deeteenh. Happy share my trip with you Don. We were in the area tracing my wifes ancestors who came from just up the road in Bonar Bridge. The Balblair destillery is 6 miles from Tain near the village of Edderton.

PannYanChorus liked it too. She has video of her

Thanks for the great little tour, and for the new whiskies!! Have you ever tried The Balvenie Scotch? Good stuff!

Cheers Mike. I've not tried Balvenie, yet.
My last real good whisky session was last year when Tom Pacheco and his tour manager were staying with us.
Ride safe.
