Still amuses me that folks compare the experience of a Pres candidate with that of a Vice Pres candidate.

Palin is the only candidate on the ticket with experience as an elected official in the Executive Branch of our Govt at any level - including the Community level, the Local level, and the State level.

In the Exec Branch (unlike the Legislative), there are no "present" votes or taking a "safety-in-numbers" position on issues.

If McCain loses, he has given Conservatives Palin/Jindal 2012.

Excuse me.....I think people are confused with this idea of "spreading the wealth around." What really happens when those who work for their money have it taken from them and it is given to those who refuse to work......"poverty is spread around."

Obama is letting the BUSH TAX CUTS expire. It will go back to the same way under Clinton. You can choose to continue with the exact same tax cuts that we have had for the last 8 years that have not worked, thats your choice, but the economy has gone to shit under those plans, and people are hurting. Keep in mind its 3% tax increase for people making 250,000, its not like some crazy 40% increase and spreading the wealth around. The debt is like 8 trillion, things can get much worse...

Obama's tax bracket is a moving target. First it was $300,000, then it was $250,000, then it was $200,000, last week it was $150,000.

The fact is that Obama already can't afford the $1 trillion in campaign promises so he's having to adjust he'll tax to death so it includes more people.

You're right, it's not 40%. that would be crazy. Instead he proposes to nearly double what it is right now, from 15% to 28%.

Bill Clinton only went as high as 20% during his administration.

Just basic needs of utillities, car payments rent and day care are outrageous. Work alone doesn't necessarily = wealth and I'm sure she didn't mean that literally.

But,

work + attitude + advancement + education + investment + time = wealth eventually. Add luck anywhere in the formula and wealth comes quicker.

On the other hand,

no education + kids at 16 + career in minimum wage jobs + entitlement attitude + Barack Obama's tax plan = incentivizing poor decisions, expanding welfare, and pulling others down with you because of your poor choices, inaction, and laziness.

The spread the welath around that Sen. obama is speaking of isnt to enrich the welfare system by rewarding those who refuse to work. He is speaking about people who work daily and cant seem to make ends meet. He is talking abt tax payers. If our children are educated and parented well we can reduce the amount of unwed mothers and fathers and have planned familys with moms and dads. It all starts with education. freechoice1011, that's just it. Obama's tax plan will take money from those who are paying taxes and a lot of it will go to those who don't pay taxes in the form of a direct payment from the treasury department.

A "tax cut" is a reduction in the taxes you're paying. Obama's plan hands out "refundable credits", which is a tax check even if they don't pay any taxes.

Obama can call it what he wants, but that by definition is welfare.

With a good, solid education a child has real hope that they create themselves. Not the kind of hope that's slapped on a bumper sticker.

That's why parents need and deserve school vouchers. So they can decide if they're child needs to be pulled from a failing school and put into a better one.

Bureaucrats shouldn't decide where your child goes to school, simply for the sake of bureaucracy.

Fair question. To me, rape is no more the fault of the baby than it is the Mothers.

I believe that life is life no matter the circumstances, except where another life is in danger.

So with that said, making the decision against aborting the baby is the only logical & ethical answer. The only question then, is does she keep it or give it up for adoption.

If I were to decide by placing blame, questioning ownership, & her own convenience how could I possibly reach a logical & ethical conclusion?

As a history/economics teacher the relationship is scary when you put it in the context that he admits in his book that as a high school/college student he was inspired by not only Karl Marx, but also politically active blacks including the Black Panther Party.

The Black Panther Party and Ayers' Weathermen Underground were both Marxist organizations and part of the World Revolution of the 60s and 70s.

Alinsky wrote that he was inspired by Vladimir Lenin.
