    A home schooling mom

  • This really works, I have done it with my third grader and he picked his time table so quickly

  • Really good video! I never get bored watching theze kinds of videos. These are the videos that keep me entertained and not bored!!!

  • Learningclub, of course that approach is better than nothing, but I do prefer the method I show in the video.

The next step, after the method shown in the video, would be just random practice, be it with games, flashcards, or worksheets.

Games are certainly the most fun way. I've collected a list of free, online multiplication games on my Homeschool Math website.

  • Useful video, Maria. Thanks.

When I learned the tables, it was:

    3 x 1 = 3

    3 x 2 = 6

    3 x 3 = 9

So we go 'Three Ones are Three', 'Three Twos are Six', 'Three Threes are Nine' and so on...

What do you think about this approach?

I can see that it is easier for the child to learn the tables in the way you described them. But would the approach I described be useful as a next step? Would like to know what you think about this.

  • I just received your feedblitz about your new video. You did a great job. Thank you for sharing this with me. I am always looking for another method to teach skip counting esp. multiplication.
