  • Best commentator ever!

  • hahaha thats awesome they got caught out and the aussie vl takes the win! great vid thanks heaps for posting

  • Good point sk8rgeoff! If the BM's had been the correct weight then they wouldn't have been such guns & the racing would have been closer from the start. Rouse Sierra would have still walked away I think if its engine hadn't committed suicide tho! It was clearly superior to the rest of the field. But in the end the sierra blew up and the BM's had infringed the rules & the Holden won which is the important bit! Pity the Holden couldn't make any further impression through out the rest of the series

  • John Harvey is a truly unappreciated champion.

  • Stop ya bitching people!

    Seriously good upload!!!

A little slice of Australian Motoracing.

  • lot of f1 drivers

  • i've heard the europeans' interpretation of the group a rules was actually a lot more relaxed- hence the bmw's underweight and the holdens not.

Fantastic to see the aussies taking it to the world! Does anyone else know how to race touring cars as well as us?

  • Yeah the Germans, the Italians, the British, the Spanish, should I go on?

  • Germans: ok, i'll give you that one.

British: cough. does the BTCC even exist any more?

Italians: Yeah, right. Show me one italian that's done anything worth mentioning in touring cars

    Spanish: better of racing MotoGP

    so yeah, go on...

  • The best touring car racer in the world (and for the last handful of years) is British! BTCC has big grids, good close racing, and more importantly more than two makes of car!

Re: Italians - Tarquini, Giovanardi, Alfa Romeo.....

So there you go. I can't remember the last time an Aussie came and did something special in Europe. Please correct me if I'm wrong. And don't try and claim Radisich. ;)

  • Can't claim Radisich as he ain't from OZ, he's a NZer.

  • Alan Jones - world f1 champion '80. And if we're counting motorcycles Mick Doohan 5 times world champ and Wayne Gardner as well

  • Don't forget Johnny Ceccotto (sp?) Roberto Ravaglia , Gianpero Simoni didn't do too badly either.

  • Good to see Holden winning at Monza in 87. 1987 being the year when everybody else either sucked or cheated. "Holden, go win races without cheating!"

  • Is the WTCC available on VHS/DVD?

    Shallow

  • From memory ATN-7 showed this review during the first round of the AMSCAR Series in 1987, the one where the Lansvale boys win one of the heats in their VK.

  • RIP Roland Razenberger

  • if you could post the rest of the races, i would be forever thankful. i'm in the middle of creating a BATracer carset based on this 87 WTCC, and I need all the info i can get. if you can find any more of the videos, that would be fantastic.

  • great stuff, are the rest of the rounds coming?

  • I will have to look through the tapes to see what I have.
