This is probably meant to be a great movie, but the acting is HORRIBLE!! I only recognize three actors/actresses: Rob Lowe, his character's mom, and the sick mom. Everybody else are new to me. And like I said, it's bad acting. Dislike all you want, but I know a bad movie when I see one.

Omg! I just noticed the mother that dies Is holly marie combs from charmed! or at lest looks and sounds like her! I think this is the saddest movie ever! I cried for like half an hour afterward!!!

I was commenting on how she looked better as a brunette then a blonde. Then I looked at the dvd case and it was actually Jennifer Garner. They look and sound alike to me. lol

I have babysat kids for over 8 years and never has a child spoken to me or their parents that way. Yes, they might annunciate and know big words, but they do not pause after every sentence, nor do they make unnatural expressions while speaking.

i have been a teacher at sunday as well as a mentor at an kids afterschool program and chuck e cheese....maybe you just babysat normal kids...there are some kids who are very very intelligent and do speak like that

so many questions. the movie is about a boy trying to buy shoes for his mom because his mom has a heart condition. its simple. i don't know why this movie confuses people. the mom dies christmas eve and that is him 15 years later and the other guy is the one that bought the shoes for the little boy. watch the movie carefully and maybe u will understand. not trying to be mean but its a simple movie

I was in the store and this kid in front of me was buying a pair of shoes looking for his money,I thought of this story& went to pay for him because i was all in the christmas spirit and stuff and the kid looked at me like what is this man doing then his Mom walked over and looked at me like why is this man trying to pay for my stuff and the cashier and everyone was looking at me, I was so embarrassed.
