we are finding many eels here in America declining in number...what is the situation in Ireland? there are minimum 6 inch requirements here on the atlantic coast but the poaching of glass eels may be a big issue.
Amazing catch, these eels are going to make several nice meals. I can't really tell but are these freshwater eels or conger sea eels? What the traditional ways of preparing eel in Ireland? Here in Hawai'i we cook congers either in white wine vinegar Portguese style or broil them over an open flame Japanese style. No freshwater eels here which is too bad beside they are my favorites though they can be bought frozen. Thanks for sharing the video.

@MrKellyo Hey thanks man, Imma collect some worms and try tonight for some eels, I was fishing for turtles last night with some rotton chicken just something I had laying around.. And caught a eel on it was surprised didnt even know they were here

Nice catch dude I use the same type of net here in New Zealand does a pretty good job too.
