Macdonald has in the past declared war on animal lovers protesting against his use of fur. And has remained unrepentant, saying: "People who don't like fur can p*ss off. I love fur. It's a beautiful natural product from animals."
PETA have blamed Julien Macdonald for perpetuating cruelty to animals
He launched a stinging attack on animal rights groups. He said: "Focus your attention on something that's important.”
Well Im a bloke so that's hardly true. But I have seen first hand what the perceived need to be stick thin can do to people, and I think that things like this bear a lot of the responsibility. They may as well be promoting heroin use
Yes, But, in this instance, the girls are making a choice, as people make choices to go and and drink their selves stupid, these girls are in control of their life, if you want ot be succesful, you have to have the image, not mine, or your fault that the clothes just do look better on these people, its a fact, they look more delicate, and hang better, therefore sell better :]
They have the right to that choice, and the choice to do anything to themselves. But the fundamental difference between that and this is that they are flaunting this choice to impressionable people (particularly young women) and making them see this weight as desireable. Whether they got this thin naturally or not in their own personal lives is therefore a moot point. Perception is everything.
So you are either stick thin or morbidly obese? There's no in between? What about normal sized? And what's the point of advertising these clothes if they only look good on famine victims?
No not at all, of course there is in between, no two people are exactly the same size. I just meant that for advertising purposes, clothes look better on skinny people who have no shape/curves.
You are presenting that as solid fact, but where are you getting this from? And how could you even possibly know that when adverts never feature people who are normal sized?

Clothes look better on skinnier models. Fact.
Quite frankly if I saw a morbidly obese person wearing one of those outfits I would be less inclined to buy it.

And in regards to the clothes, most people would be laughed out of the room if they wore them in their day to day lives.
