But I was mainly there to film the regular traffic before the airport gets closed down in June.

This is rather sad however you are correct in saying the world was a different place. Today it would not be a good idea to film at an airport in America. Many freedoms were lost here and I a happy to see you can do this. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I remember landing at TXL in a dense fog on Pan Am back in the 80s. Great experience. Berlin is super!

Are there still any flights to Iran, or is the Iran Air desk long closed?

I don´t know if there are flights to Iran, but it could well be. I haven´t seen any Iraninan planes there. But there are flights from Iran to Cologne.
