  • ganda,ganda....

  • this is traditional dance not muslim dancing !

  • I agreed 100% to jaymrcool123123. There is no such thing as Muslim dance!

This is one being shown is a kind of cultural dance. Philippines is rich in this for having thousands of island. We need more of these dances to be shown.

    Thanks.

  • para sa kaalaman ng lahat!!!!

muslim is a follower of Islam and Islam is a religion...meaning there is no Muslim dance cause there is no religion dance...just like cristian is the follower of catholic relegion...and ther is no catholic dance!!!use the tribe name culture dance not the religion...bali baliktarin ang bable at quar an...walang nababangit na relegion dance....so tha is a magindanaon dance and nor a muslim dance...................

  • Silat based dance definately

  • it is nice to see that there are other Filipino traditional dances other than Tinikling , but that shit was getting played out. Tinikling is not even traditional it is just a colonized version of the the muslim traditional dances of south east asia

  • beg your pardon, tinikling is a traditional dance in leyte, i remember when i was just a kid we used to play or dance with too sticks of bamboos in the playground at school so......

  • yeah i was aware of that, but the one i was referring too was Spanish version. i personally wanted to see the original version before the Spaniards. I checked out LEYTE DANCE THEATRE 's Ka Singkil on youtube which was pretty cool. i also recently found out that the bamboo dances are every where in south east asia such as malaysia, indonesia, thai, camobodia etc.etc... its pretty cool

  • My favorite traditional dance is the speghetti song dance... LOL

  • @iTzFilipinomonkey their ka singkil isn't even traditional, it's cool but its a theatrical version of the dance, they put in a lot more modern dance into it...there's no "pre-hispanic tinikling" just like singkil isn't a pre hispanic tinikling. even the bayanihan singkil you see today is pretty theatrisized compared to the original singkil. also remember with the exception of ati(aetas) and lumad dances, there's not too much pre-hispanic visayan dances, so tinikling is what you get

  • please don't discriminate all the muslims.

  • I'm trying to tell him/her that, but... well, wouldn't listen.

    Ah well. his problem...

  • ScarletMoonAkanishi, im pretty sure alot of Filipinos don't know that their ancestors where muslims. Lapu Lapu was a muslim and what is funny every filipino is proud of the him as a hero but yet despise the muslim. such an irony

  • ...hindi sila lahat muslim. naniniwala din ang muslim sa preservation to life - na hindi dapat pumatay at manakit ng tao - grabe ka naman mag generalize. wag naman ganyan.

  • tell that to all victims of mujahidin terrorst! tell that to the innocent christians in poso indonesia who are beheaded! tell that to the people in lanao who were massacred like pigs! tell that to the family who are victims in 9/11 tell that to the parents who were killed in lrt rizal day bombings, tell that to the world! tell that to my father who is killed by muslim extremist in cotabato! now u tell me did allah command u that?

  • as I said, they are not all muslims. Wag ka mag-generalize - kasi hindi maganda un. kung muslims man sila, that's there problem - hindi un connected sa religion nila - problema un nung tao. baka naman may mental problem na un! wag ka ganyan, masyado ka nag gegeneralize.

and I'm not a muslim, actually. I just feel that nobody should generalize like that - it's not right. don't blame the muslim community - it's not their fault. Problema ng tao un kung pumatay sila, hindi nung buong komunidad.

  • violent behavior breeds, violent behavior that's all i can say. that's what they do and that's what learn from their spiritual leaders!

  • It kinda saddens me how you generalize Muslims that way. I happen to know muslims who aren't like that, they happen to be real nice.

but that's your deal, so.. *shrug*

  • okay i want u to watch poso indo massacre, and try to annalyze it!

  • really? i dont think so caz if they happen to be? why would they teach their children hatred against christians? go and browse the youtube and you will find out for yourself, what their so called quran been teaching! U die for islam u go to heaven? strap urself with c4 go to crowded places and ur called a martyr? hmmm that's very strange?

  • mix it wit scratch,

  • i admire these young boys who are dancing traditional dances, instead of hiphops, they seem proud of their dance..keep it up, hope to watch your show when i visit davao next year, inshaallah

  • very nice. hope to visit Davao soon

  • hi..no offend lng ha?its that kuntao?ang pagkakaalam ko kuntao is a mindanao martial art dance. mas mganda sna if may flexing of muscles at extention of the body..pro bilib ako sa mga batang sumasayaw.keep it up.just improve a little.

  • Mash'Allah! That's look like a kind of malay silat style! Could you please tell me what is the name and to find it there in Davao? I go often to Surigao, Butuan and Cagayan

  • The dance seems like a combination of the Kuntaw and the Silat (among the Tausug people of Sulu). Yop, the silat is a common heritage among Filipinos in Mindanao and Malaysians. This performance was danced like "a little faster" than an original performance I witnessed (performed by old public school teachers in Jolo). Some movements are also seen in the "Igal Tabawan" of the Sama di Laut and even the comicry of a male dancer of the dance called "Tariray".

  • In this dance you witnessed in Jolo, were the movements based on silat? Although I have seen family silat style in Basilan, I am not aware of any silat styles practiced in Sulu. From what I hear, it's all kuntao there. Wish I could find other silat systems in the philippnes. I'd appreciateany help you could throw my way.
