I wastched this movie whithout knowing what it was and i just had to find out the name!! And now i have to find it so i can watch it online or download it or something...

And well if you compare the tho vertions of 'sweetny todd' all i can say is this,

Johnny Depp does have a pretty face and he CAN act.

But Ray Wintone really fits better as Sweetny.

He made me love the movie and i did'nt even know his/the movies name.

So, we really love Ray over here (Y)

Stop comparing Ray and Johnny. As far as I'm concerned, they are two completely different characters because they are presented in different ways with two totally different scripts. They are both good.

I love this version of the legend; beautifully acted, well-shot. As macabre as it may be, it was strangely deeply touching. Ray Winstone was magnificent, making Todd so much more complex. Great adaptation.

I watched this when it was on the Beeb, and thought that Ray Winstone was a great actor in this. Certainly a few gory parts, and the ending was superb! not sure what to make of the hollywood version though

Sweeny Todd (in all I've read) is an English folk tale based on a French story, there's no record of actual events or court/police (bow street runners?) record either,

If anyone knows differently please post any links or area's to look at to the contrary Either way I thought Ray Winstone's version was great, and was a sympathetic portrayal of a very damaged human being
