  • Groovy, man. Groovy.

  • there's something about this video that just makes me happy. i really cant put my finger on it :)

  • this site helps with tractors mytractorforumcom

  • nut cutting a wide enough furrow

  • @Michigander79 cuts as wide as the plow dude, cant make it cut wider......

  • i have a old monkey wards to! its a 310 with the 10hp briggs. Any clue where i could get attachments for it?

  • You're like me, bro. At :53 you need a sign on the back that says:

"WIDE LOAD". Its kinda noisy but gets the job done.

  • very fast

  • I have tractor that is a gilson but its not a montgomery wards.

  • i have a 1978 montgomery ward 11 hp 36". runs great and i only paid $100 for it.

  • haha i payed 100 dollers for a brand new poulan pro weed eater tractor with a briggs and stratton 12.5HP I/C that had new parts with it when i bought it and everything on the tractor was pretty much new and still working on it

  • cool :)

  • the tractor would of costed 500 dollers or more but the guy gave it to me for only 100 it was great

  • wow, even better!!!!!

  • the guy is nice to me tho and i got the whole engine put back together and its pretty much brand new if you wanna say it il get a vid and put it on here

  • thats cool, i am trying to convert mine to be 4x4, and i will put a vid of it once i get it finished :)

  • im converting myne and slapping an airhorn on it and putting remote start and do you think itd be a bad idea to hook the alternator up to the battery on a seperate switch ?

  • lol, that will be cool!!! and no i dont think its a bad idea to put the alternator on a seperate switch, thats actually a good idea.

  • yea i don't feel like switching the lights off that line too much the alt only powers lights but ima use it to charge the battery and buy another battery but soooo much wiring its crazy

  • lol, good luck

  • thank you it will be alot of work and il get a video for my subscribers :) i got a video on my page of a tecumseh straight pipe its a beast

  • i look forward to seeing it, and that engine is awesome!!!!! i have a straight pipe on my sears suburban, but it doesnt sound as big and throaty as yours :)

  • should i do the same thing on my tractor or put stock muff on it?

  • i would say go for it, just be sure to put a long enough pipe so that you dont warp your valves. it will sound great!!!

  • Yea i know thats what worrys me about it i think i might buy a stock muff and in the future do straight pipe

  • if you have room and enough pipe, you can come out of the exhaust, and take an elbow and run a pipe under the machine, then take another elbow hand have the pipe exit out of the back of the tractor, you could even put a y on there and have dual pipes coming out the back

  • What is the model number on that engine?

  • Monkey Wards. Haha! This was what I remember my parents calling it when I was a kid. They would always abruptly correct me if I called it "Monkey Rewards." I thought the store might sell training supplies for apes. We had a MW/gilson push mower that lasted a good 20 yrs.

  • i guess you don't need wheel weights with that fat ass drivin

  • Its a beast!

  • hey, I got a monkey wards with a cast iron 16 horse briggs single. it needs a carb cleaning and the ignition needs to be messed with to get it running. if you have a similar engine, do you have any advice?

  • the carb is simple enough to do. As for the ignition you should by the module to get rid of the points set up. its only about $15 and comes with simple instructions. to do the magnito/coil you have to almost pull the motor so hopefully thats not what it is cause thats a big job. if you have the old school coil like in a car the module will not work.

  • thanks a bunch, I really mean it, I don't know who else even has a rare tractor like ours, so any info is greatly apprecieated.

  • although, there is a major buildup of gunk sitting in the bottom of the carb. even after I get the top of the carb off, I am not quite sure how to even get at that crud, carb cleaner won't take it off. plus, my choke plate is bound in it, it won't move.

  • and the ignition is probly gonna be a bitch, seeing how the driveshaft for the tractor looks like it's bolted onto the engine flywheel.

  • yes it is bolted on the flywheel, you almost have to pull the engine to get to the ignition, loosen all the mounting bolts and tilt the motor to get flywheel/shroud off

  • Oh, okay, I will not have to totally pull the engine out, just tilt it.

  • @jp23jd does your 16hp briggs cast iron single cyl have a montgomery ward sticker on it? i have a 1974 16hp synchro balenced cast iron briggs single cyl with all the briggs decals + the monty wards decal on the schroud. its factory painted white it has the gastank mounted to it and is set up for stationary use. its rope start only no electric or recoil start. i havent a clue what wards would have sold other than a tractor that would require this big an engine?

  • @1944johndeerel no it's black with a synchro balanced decal on it. yours is probably off a generator.

  • @jp23jd must be?

  • i agree, i know my cub would kick ass too, they are just a better built machine ;)

  • @siguaw any tractor from the 60s and 70s is a better built machine. Me, I preffer my Bolens 1250

  • @SuperJetski1 i agree about the older tractors, with the exception of john deere's. They are not very good machines in my opinion. I have never owned one i liked and they always place last in our pulls

  • Not bad 4 a monkey wards I think my cub cadet can do A better job. LOL keep up the good work .

  • Own both and I believe they are both near the same. My Montgomery wards 14 hydro is as beastly as the cub 147 hydro I own.
