@AL2000FL I agree to an extent but it was the dissonance of the WHOLE band that made it CLASSIC Alice. Without Layne it could never be CLASSIC AIC but they can still make NEW classic songs because they are still really talented alltogether.

album versions definately better, especially as this version misses what i think makes the song... the 3rd scream of "yeah!" after the guitar solo. layne sounds like he put SO MUCH into that scream... i suppose thats what made him 1 of the best. r.i.p man

I just plain love how Alice in chains really harmonizes most of their music, its so awesome, like if you hear them on the radio or a cd, you just feel compelled to sing the high or low part! you feel like you right there with Layne singin! I love ALICE IN CHAINS

haha i always switch off between jerry and layne on this one. its fun to sing jerrys lower part during the chorus since layne's higher part sticks out more. sounds awesome. well, to me at least. i cant sing for shit.

Maybe a better voice exists in modern rock, but i can't think of any. He's singing a song promoting drug use, when he went to 86 pounds, lost his teeth and had liver failure, horrific chronic pain.. all from drugs. Now that takes balls. I wonder how many people were lured into trying H from this song.

I tried it cause I wanted too.
I have used it many times but Im not an addict. I can see how it would be easy to become one though, once you feel how good those drugs make you feel its hard not to think about it and want to do it.

It's hard to think of anything that causes more wreckage to people's lives and families than drugs. Just think of all those people, and every one of them said the same thing you did. They're not an addict, they just wanted to try it. Sure, check back in 10 years
