  • bob is not gone.

  • BRAVO!

  • This is increadible work....excellent animation.

  • @Foinked

thanks :) it's one of my best ones i think

    here's other suggestions

Iris / Awakenings / Falling / Misstick::The Origins of Halloween / Aikoliv's Glow Dance / War Ends / Obey / Jack Skellington Salsas / Dr Zit - Drum Beat

those are not tutorials and more entertaining :)

  • in the program you can chose any image or color as the background. in this video there's no green screen but you can render as a series of images and each image has a transparency kayer. With most video editing programs you could change the background. 3d animation, is faster to do than 2d/cartoon animation, you use dials to reposition each limb, that's called posing.

You can pose your character 1, 2 times per second of animation and the computer takes care of the intermediate poses

  • Very interesting. I assume you can green screen and then Color key into a different environment. Is that kind of animation time intensive?

  • interesting,

  • @truebones

    thanks! :)

i tried to add many visual elements in each scene of 10 seconds

  • *amazing*

  • thanks :)

if you google for mcjjet or search it in the daz freepository , yesterday i published the script and figure i used to make the steam & smoke

  • This is really cool - very well done! Music and the lyrics - (hi, hi, hi) - quite something. This is one of your best!

  • merci! :)

in the aphex twin video 'window licker' ( lèche vitrine ! ) we can hear a woman say "je vais faire des croquettes au chien" i always found it funny and that why it's in the lyrics

  • Great job!

  • thanks :) it's practical to build an animation for a 'song' because you have a structure and timings to build upon

  • Wow !

The scene composed only of red and white is sophisticated !

  • thanks ! i'll pm you a link to another one you may like '( titled 'falling'' )

  • This was infectious.

  • people will take to the streets and dance the steampunkettes

  • wow...nice!

  • thanks :) i hope to have at least one per month

  • Well Jacques; that was either your best yet, or you've just gone right off your nut : )

Really enjoyed this one - not sure if you can truly call anything surreal anymore in the modern world, but this must surely qualify - thanks!

  • thanks :) i like it too i watched it a few (many) times - i have so many videos that the best ones get buried - the best ones for me, would be -

iris, awakening and Drum beat and Steampunkettes

  • oh and there's also "War ends" :)

  • I like the airplane bird things. :D

  • maybe i could call them boid-planes ( youtube has some videos about boids, but my boids are very simplified they dont really see one another or have a goal :) )

  • Great Jacques a lot of detail, nice and clear like the segment at 0.59,well back too the mods and Fallout 3 and Left for dead for me eh,still playing with DAZ but very rare now

  • thanks :)

someday i may make a mod for GTA, to replace Tony by some markers, then i could replace the markers by one of the Steampunkettes :)

  • I really, really, REALLY liked that car in this. Cool video man :). I hope you're well, I haven't been in contact with you in a while, but I'm still here :) Take care,

    - Giles.

  • youtube ate my answer!

so i was saying ... thanks ! and, i'll probably add the car and the smoke/steam kit to my freebies site, and i add the link in the video description :)

  • Wow, you have really come a Long way! It has a very cool style! I love the colors, those blocks and other elements - Very COOL!!!

  • thanks :) i tried to make scenes I'd like to watch, the scenes were pretty disparate, but in the end a storyline emerged. it could use some work on characters relations, though at least there's relations between the characters and us :)

  • great work !!! the music remember me the kraftwerk !!!

  • merci! :)

i like kraftwerk, sometimes i take an hour to watch all the kraftwerk i can find in youtube

i once thought about re-making 'showroom dummies' / les mannequins

  • Very nicely done animation, how long did it take to animate? Must say, you did well with keeping the motions smooth. Very nicely done indeed/

  • thanks :) i'd say the walk cycle of the piratette took 8 hours, mostly to make sure it was smooth and the feet were stable on the ground. Though in the end i lowered her center of gravity a bit too much which had her look a bit weak knee'd, and this explains why the camera angles don't show her boots for very long :) the other animations didn't take too much time since they are just a few keyframes.

  • to comfort myself i try to remember that real studio animators are happy when thy make between 15 and 30 seconds of animation per week :)

  • Ah, well keyframes are a saving grace, can't tell you how many times I have been so, so thankful for them in animation (Though I am still learning) and indeed camera angles can be so useful in hiding little goofs. You also managed to avoid any noticeable poke-through, that -always- gives me trouble when animating via keyframe. It was done in Daz? Or did you use other programs for parts of the animation?

  • the program i use the most is the plugin i wrote , which lets me see the animation curves - not to long ago i published it for gree - it's called 'scene graph' and you can find it ... i'll message you the link - you can also find this site by typing mcasualsdazscripts in google

  • Oh, the ones on that page look like they'ld be rather useful, especially for special effects, thank you greatly for pointing me to it. I'll have to try them out.

  • GORGEOUS!!!

  • thanks :) trivia the Coney island parachute jump tower! :) oops i wrote Connie in the description

  • ¡¡¡¡FULL STARS for your render friend , very very very goodddd¡¡¡¡.

  • thanks! :) i was able to keep render times under 1 minute per image and do some parts in opengl at 1 second per image

  • Hmmm... having comment-leaving problems. This is your best animation to date!! Is that steam a daz particle effect? Check out boing boing for a lot of steam punk stuff.

  • thanks:)

    i made the steam/smoke gizmo :)

    it's a script + a 50-panels prop

i'll probably make it available soon

it should work on all versions of daz

  • That was very weird.

  • Trippy! :0)

    ...makes me wanna do something...

    ♪♫♫♫♪♪♫♫♫♪

  • i'd like to make those synth voices sing, but other than using vocaloid.

in other news there's a beta version of daz studio 4 at daz3d

    ♪ s ♫ o ♫ m ♫ e ♪ t ♪ h ♫ i ♫ n ♫ g ♪

  • Very cool. Once of my favorite computer games is Arcanum. Steampunk stuff is cool. I'd like to see more of it in movies and such. Be a nice break from the rut most mainstream movie producers are in.

  • did they call it steampunk? i don't understand why i didn't see that word/concept on the net between 1995 and now. though i knew about William Gibson and cyberpunks. That 'll teach me to play only wolfenstein and doom :)
