  • Why don't I get the window from 0:28 ? When I try to add a bluetooth or network printer, I get directly to the point, where you usually get after clicking "the printer that I want isn't listed"

  • 1. this

    2. video.

    3. sucks

  • I know another way if this way doesn't work.

    1. type "network" on the search start menu

    2. open up "network" of course

    3. there should be a list of other active connected computers and media devices

    4. open up the host computer ie. "NAME"-PC under computer (make sure it's turned on and also make sure that the host computer has already installed the printer software)

    5. right click on the printer and press connect and this should work

  • What ? this video actually helped me..Thanks..At-least the guy made an attempt to help people..

  • @shady08ish really? there is no way i can get thsi printer to print wirelessly? oh thats not good!

  • I've never seen a printer appear in that box. I always have to assign the printers on Win7 boxes through the "Local" Standard IP Port option. All the WinXP boxes detect it. Truth be told, I'm a Win7 n00b so I'm sure I'll eventually figure out what I'm doing but at least connecting "locally" still works.

  • Useless Video.

  • Are you that stupid? We don't need a walk-through on installs that go according to plan, this is utterly useless. Anyone who couldn't get this on their own is a true idiot. How about a tutorial for when the printer DOESN'T show up, or when features of an installed printer don't match what they did on other couputers? No one looking for support in installing a printer would benefit from this video. Totally useless.

  • @kphag I beg to differ - not everyone knows the basics, it's not TOTALLY useless; it just doesn't suit YOUR needs. I'm glad i found this - i didn't look in hardware i went straight to network to find my device so it helped a little.

  • @kphag

Yeah, and how about the Windows Vista/7 administrator problem? You cannot print to a newly added network printer whitout starting word/notepad as administrator. This says nothing about that. And some users cannot click "run as administrator" on Word shortcuts, even though they're logged in as administrators. What the beep do they do about this issue?

And if you're at university and want to use network printers there, you probably need to setup as a home network, not a private.

  • Meaningless demonstration, this is Microsoft and Windows 7. If W7 finds the printer you don't have to to the control panel. The reason that you come here is that W7 doesn't find the network printer.

And, of course, in the control panel a normal person looks for "Printer" not for "Devices and Printers", again this is Microsoft, just pay-up but don't expect any help.
