So did Nimoy refuse to be part of that movie (when Kirk died) or was Spock just not written into the story and he couldn't appear?

one year later, well you probably know this by now but Nimoy was asked to direct generations but didn't want to because the script sucked (it did) he was also going to play a micro part in the film, when he said no they re wrote very little and gave his role to James Doohan (Scotty) also interesting to note that Chekov is doing McCoys lines (Kelly also didn't want too) Spock was also to appear at the end of the movie at a church where Kirk would have been burred. im glad he didn't do it
