pickens is all about making a buck. ask anybody with the phillips part of conocophillips. good ploy however and wouldn't be surprised if inexperienced obama falls for it. some of you already have.
Okay so a big part of the plan is to have us drive cars with Natural Gas, but I pay $1.20 per cubic foot today, and you need to compress 123 cubic feet to equal one gallon of liquid regular gasoline. Why does T.Boone think I should pay $147.60 per gallon for automotive fuel? Thanks for the wind power, but what's your angle on the Natural Gas? You corner the market on it? Friends with energy speculators?
Maybe you should power the Oklahoma State Cowboy's football stadium with wind power. Straegically place Turbines down on the field for 75 yard passes on 1st Downs. 70 Yard Punts and 80 Yard Field Goals. The Energy benefit would be secondary! As a long time Sonner fan,..I respectfully request that if you decide to convert Pickens Stadium to wind power,(under my plan)...that the Turbines be turned off when OSU hosts the Sooners:) Joe.
"At current oil prices, we will send $700 billion dollars out of the country this year alone . . . Projected over the next 10 years the cost will be $10 trillion — it will be the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind." - T Boone Pickens
Suggested Pickens Plan business card: 1. Cut imports by 38 percent. 2. Reduce import costs by $300 BILLION per year ($3,000 per family = $90,909 10 yrs) 3. Wind electric power 4. Vehicles powered by natural gas 5. Legislation required voter support 6. Legislation requires voter contact their representatives Side B: 1. Contact Senators: senate gov 2. Contact Congress: house gov 3. T. Boone Pickens: pickensplan com 4. Email all your friends 5. Post on your blogs 6. Hand to friends
It's about time people started taking action. I am so sick and tired of arguing with the drill now people- they can't see that it is NOT a solution. Good to see Al Gore coming out yesterday with a similar proposal. Maybe we won't have to argue with the drill, drill crowd, maybe, just maybe we can drown them out instead. We can't choose the times we'll see, we can only choose what we'll DO with the time we're given. Tough times, tough choices- let's get busy!
At last some leadership!!!! Pickens is doing what the President nor a paralyzed Congress would do - provide leadership with a plan people can get behind. Go T. Boone!! The addition of Solar development should be added to the plan - will save Americans hundreds of dollars on annual energy expense plus divert electrical power for industry.
Been trying to get my state to look at this. Hawaii has winds over 15mph 300 days a year. We should do it out of shear necessity bing that we're so isolated from the mainland.
you pay an arm and leg because the world is growing. nat gas should still go up in price because of this but should always be cheaper than gasoline because there is more nat gas than oil in the world and nat gas doesnt need refinining which makes gasoline more costly
Okay, no. The price a consumer can purchase natural gas at is sickening. New York it has recently dropped from $1.25 to $1.20 per cubic foot (cf). Ten years back it was about $1.12 per THOUSAND cubic feet (Mcf). In early 2005 it was $10.73/MCF, by late 2005 it was $18.06/Mcf. Speculators are boning the public in a way that even the Romans didn't dare to. Here is the big rub, they can't claim the price of supply went up like the big-oil liars because the well head price of NG hasn't gone up.
Keep up the good work. We need more advocates like T. Boone Pickens to acknowledge the foreign oil problem and present potential solutions in a realistic manner. So thank you, to him and those who are supporting energy production reform.

Ok I like this BUT I have a question. If natural gas is so cheap? then why do we pay an arm and a leg for it to heat our homes? Just curious there.
