It's absolutely amazing how meaningful these kind of old Disney movies are. I miss all of the witty and profound script and songwriters... Sacrificial love within a family, the struggle to overcome poverty, especially seen through the eyes of children.. I could go on and on.

@OldTelivisionRocks Disney is just the producer...they don't control what the movie is, they just sponsor it.

He probably just worked with what he thought was a good script, but it didn't turn out, or something. Plus musicals aren't as big as they were back then, at least not at a point where you can get big actors to take part unless it's a more modern-day one, which the director doesn't seem to be a fan of.

Either way, it makes me sad. Haha

I don't like High School Musical that much either but you're right about the actor type thing, but imagine some of the greatest actors you know retired or are dead...that's what he feels, I've actually watched many movies he has choreographed, the man is a genius with no where to put it, they don't allow genius in modern Hollywood.:(

I love Race! I recently bought the script because, well, i'm obsessed with this movie, and the script is so different! they don't even have king of new york yet. but, it's also really cool to look at the original script because i already know the movie script. there's a scene in the script where jack comes back after he's a scab and race does his delancey's bit "dear me? what is that unpleasant aroma?" and it's very tense and i was like "why did they kick that out? i would love to see that!"
