How are the smaller tires working for you? I would think you would need to mini tub or at least run a wider tire. Fuel leak isn't a costly fix, just replace/repair the fitting.
You left it running with a fuel leak; not too bright. Next time shut that thing down, grab a fire extinguisher, and check everything front to back. Would have been a shame to see it go up in smoke.
@Sniperman1964 Big block isn't the problem, it's if the car's chassiscan handle the increased HP and torque w/ ladder bars, sub-frame connectors, bigger panhard bars and so on, I'd put an engine cage around the motor to help stiffen the chassis up. No, man, now he has the cubes for more disp. and bigger pistons. Due to the size of the car tough, it'll be for str8 lines unless he really lowers it and does want it to be a corner carver, Why didn't Ford ever put a 460 in 'Stang anyhow ? 429 ?

it doesnt matter what cubic inch it is like 514 521 532 545 they all start from the same block like a 429 or 460 which ever you start from so yes if a 514 will fit a 545 will to " the block dont grow or nothing "
to get a 460 in there you need oil pan, headers, mounts, you have to remove the brake bootser because the valve cover hits it, you need a big block bellhousing for whatever transmission your running, its not so simple.
thats one bad ass mutha fucker. let me paint it black with tru fire air brushed. its my specialty. i myself am putting a 460 fox body together. yours is an ultimate inspiration
Hey I noticed that your motor is sitting up a little high, pull the k-frame and add some thick 2 inch square tubing and it will sit level and you will have much better weight transfer! Me and my dad have been building these cars with big blocks for years. You have to drill out the front hole in the k-frame and frame and install bigger bolts, but it will be worth it!
I'm almost positive that the 460 bolts right up. Only aftermarket thing on the car, is that it has an aftermarket engine mount. I can get more specs on the way the engine is bolted up if you're interested.
I know I sound like a kid in the video, but I'm not. Do you realize how much work has went into this car? When you can learn to do half the shit that we know how to do, come back with another smartass comment.
Its jerks like you that drive the youth away from this hobby. My brothers and I built my mustang, its a "man's" car. They were I was 17 when we started and they were 15, we learned alot form our dad but he didnt build it for us, you cant judge people by thier age
I built the engine, dad showed me how to check clearances etc. my bro fitted and welded in the roll cage and the subframe connectors. Me and a friend of mine swapped the rearend, I did all of the suspension work, built the rearend, and wired the car. Look man. Im 20 and Ive been working on cars since I was about 15, been around them my whole life. Age doesnt mean anything...we built that car, w/o thrid gear we were runnin 7.05 @99.8 in the 8th. not bad for "kids" on a budget.
was it hard to get that big block in there i built a 347 stroker for my 84 and am just at 500hp but want more power. what did u have to do to get it in there
Not really, if you run headers you'll need to cut the k member to fit. Its not as easy as everyone says if you do it right, alot of people just throw the motor in the car you'll need to do a little clearance for proper fit and/or get a tubular k member, it just makes the swap alot easier.
@Dmbnigga4life Im pretty sure that it isnt limited to a 514cid. you could just as easy put a 521, 532, 545 cid in just as easy with no sawing or cutting. the issue you run into when putting a big block in a fox body is with the headers and the oil pan. but you can go to Holcomb or D&D and get the conversion.
this car would make a good daily driver.

Just to let you know there's something dripping under the trunk, I think it's gas. So that's potentially dangerous so I figured I'd let you know.

This is too much engine for this car... I can make more power with a smaller engine!!!
The only thing I would drop a big block in, is a off road truck application!!! But this is just my opinion!!!
