I had the Crissy doll when I was little and loved it. The commercial is real, but the male announcer's voice is not; neither is the crying at the end. It was not advertised as a voodoo doll!! You pushed her belly button, pulled on the pony tail, and the hair "grew" from a center hole in her head. You then turned the knob in the back to make the hair retract thus becoming shorter. It came with a few curlers (the hair was synthetic & did not hold a curl) and a brush.
