In the end of oban star racer the shoter human stays as the new avatar.But he loved molly.Just when he said that he love her he died and turn into the avatar.

He cant live the planet of oban so he will never see her again.Molly also loved him.

This is just a short, not an actual movie.

It was used as a sort of pilot for the show we now know and love, to generate interest in the project and get funding.

More info on this is in the Wikipedia article on Oban Star Racers under development. Or you can hear it from the horse's mouth on the DVDs that were currently released. :D

yeah the producer guy had bad funding at the begging, and the tv station that was going to sign the contract would have been able to change the script like changing the main character to a guy! if u want to know more about this just look it up on wikipedia! seriously u should take a look, its REALLY INTERESTING!
