@PBJPRODUCTIONSTUDIOS It's literally a Sony Webbie camera model MHS-PM1 stuck to the nose of the plane with velcro...I think I put a rubber band on it for good measure...nothing fancy. I could send you a picture but I assure you it would be anticlimactic :)

@S10Man87 No, it's a Hawk Sky by Dynam. I bought it from nitroplanes. com. A lot of fun and a great beginner plane. Mine is almost 2 years old and ready to fly today!

@2011finley It can certainly be done. In this case though it's not. I was flying it by line of sight, meaning I was on the ground looking up at the plane. What you're referring to is FPV (first person view). There are hundreds of FPV videos on youtube.

Where did you mount the gyro?

@mrracer98 To use a gyro for roll it must be placed anywhere on the longitudinal axis, basically anywhere in the fuselage. A gyro for pitch must be located at the CG (center of gravity). Of course any gyro has to be oriented the correct way too. They're cheap enough to order one or two and experiment with. If you have a basic understanding of how flight control affect an airplane you should be able to figure it out. It's fun...not real practical, but fun...and you might learn something too :)

can you please explain me if the gyro was used with aleron servos, how did you setup this, you are great! was a head lock gyro used for helis?

@marce002b Hi and thanks for the kind words! The gyro is a cheap gyro from hobbyking (search google for TG-380). I believe it's called a "rate" gyro. It's NOT a heading hold or heading lock gyro. If your rx/tx has an available channel, the gyro gain can be adjusted in flight. Otherwise you can adjust the gain on the ground with a small screwdriver.

Just a note, gyros are fun to experiment with but in my opinion, won't make a plane easier to fly. I use it to help stabilize the plain for video.

Sweet, how do you attach the camera to the plane, and how long is a normal flight time?

@morrisclaxtion The camera is just velcroed to the nose. I throw a rubber band around it for good measure too :)

With the 1800mAh battery that comes with the plane, I can easily fly for more than a half hour. The plane flies even better with a heavier 2650 mAh battery and can fly for an hour if you manage the throttle.

Strapping a camera to the outside of the plane reduces the flight times, but not by much.

@morrisclaxtion Thanks for commenting! Were you asking about the plane or the camera? The plane is just over $100 and the camera was $85 from Amazon. But today the camera is $120-140 depending on your color preference...go figure...
