The Disney princess are made up of girls in their movies who show the right moral values and can set a good example to a little girl. Pocahontas was not a princess either. The Powhatans were a democracy, she was just the chief's daughter. Mulan is an amazing role model. She's the saviour of her country. She deserves the title of a princess.
@Stephanie90ish Actually in terms of Disney film releases, Snow White is the 'oldest' Princess as Snow White was the first, full-length, animated feature from Disney in 1937. Alice in Wonderland was not released until 1951.
@Stephanie90ish Alice was never a princess. The only time she was ever considered one would be in the Kingdom Hearts games. I love Alice, don't get me wrong. But she's not a princess.
...why is Mulan... Pocahontas there?there not princesses...and why is it always long haired rapunzel? shes not the princess short haired rapnuzel is fgdsfg!
@shadowcutie212 Actually, Rapunzel was born a princess and then kidnapped as a child. So technically she is a princess the entire time. Flynn is the one that becomes royalty.
@rma9286 I think she's complaining that when she gets crowned in the film she has short brown hair. But whenever you see her now she has her long blonde hair back. Which doesn't really make sense. In the same way that Beast is always a beast in the Disney Parks, but at the end of the film he turned back into a prince.
Oh yeah, great role models for kids: sit around waiting for a guy to be complete you, or that you need a man to NOT DIE IN A COMA. At least Belle did the saving. But Aurora and Snow White and Cinderella all kinda did nothing. It's more or less always the man saving the day.
@DizzyDior12 yeah she is, pause at :55 you see the black lady with the long black hair. but pocahontas and mulan aren't popular among young girls, they don't get enough advertisment as the others, which is wrong, i think because they are foreign, mulan being asian and pocahontas a native american and that these movies aren't magical as the others, but that is just my opinion
@Nana0Mimi17 I don't think it's an issue of race. Tiana is very popular. Mulan wasn't a princess. Disney said she has the spirit of a princess. Pocahontas was different sort of princess. Little girls tend to prefer the more extravagant castles & gowns than the sort of lifestyle Pocahontas had. I assume when you say "Foreign" you actually mean "not Caucasian" because a Native American is as not foreign to an American company as you can get. Belle is French.
Well, you can't really blame Aurora. She was placed under a curse by Maleficent. The fact that she showed a maturity and spark of fire in the woods is enough to gauge that she isn't completely helpless. Her prince had to save her, yes, but that wasn't really her fault.
I was much of a tomboy growing up but loved the classic princesses. My favorite is and always will be Belle. I just loved the story and also as a kid I loved that we both had brown hair/eyes. I had dressed up as Belle for Halloween when I was little in the pretty golden dress. :)

Is a kind of trauma that Mulan is a princess? Is it bad?
I love Mulan and I consider her like a true Disney princess even if technically she hasn't royal blood or that kingdom's stuff.
