@castagnola007 i did it with a 9 volt battery and it popped... i just put the 2 legs of the led on it one after the other and then after a slitsecond... BANG just amazing :D

is the light coming from the LED due to energy of the laser or is that just reflecting laser light?

@OGMO11 There is no photocell in the LED, so the diode can't produce light just from the energy of the laser. It's just the laser illuminating the bulb.

Not to mention, he says that the LED is dead.

The laser excites the phosphor inside the LED which turns the blue light into white. So yes, the bright light is coming from the LED, powered by the laser.
