lol u didnt have to do that to the camera it will not show the uv anyways cuz all cameras cant show the uv of the laser they instead will show violet or blue
@autoobist Ever think about the CCD chip in the camera? Hmm? Seen how their fair against that sort of light? Eh? Considered the fact that maybe the lens concentrates as much light as is entering onto the CCD chip, risking cooking it?
@castagnola007 i did it with a 9 volt battery and it popped... i just put the 2 legs of the led on it one after the other and then after a slitsecond... BANG just amazing :D
@OGMO11 There is no photocell in the LED, so the diode can't produce light just from the energy of the laser. It's just the laser illuminating the bulb.
The laser excites the phosphor inside the LED which turns the blue light into white. So yes, the bright light is coming from the LED, powered by the laser.

bro just so you know the laser can't harm your eyes through a computer screen as it does not emit the same type of light as the laser.
but thanks for the thought! hahaha

Codychronos at first I mis read you comment and I thought it said "and now he has a plastic arm" lol

You could totally make a show like "Will it Blend?" but with lasers. (Partnership opportunity =P)

One of my friends had a 1.5v led. He put 12v into it. He now has plastic in his arm.

That's certainly more interesting than the 100th "can it light yet another match / pop a ballon" video.

is the light coming from the LED due to energy of the laser or is that just reflecting laser light?

Not to mention, he says that the LED is dead.
