The saint are a millitairy group, so saints do exisist. they were in Iraq i think and they were supposed to send back home but the goverment didnt allowed that, correct me if im wrong
if you watch house of the rising sun video greenday copied the start of this song from there song i was watching house of the rising sun and just relized this
It was Bush's fault, and if not, then I blame Jindal. Actually, it was the fault of the fed. prosecutors who put Edwin Edwards in jail, if we had him none of this shit would have happened. In other news, the Saints are 12 AND FUCKING 0.......on the way to Miami...and a date with the Colts in the Superbowl...
I live in Louisiana, and I barely escaped the hurricane. I left the day it touched the shore. I live in Mandeville, the city that is parallel to New Orleans on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain. If I didn't leave i probably would have been crushed by one of the trees that flattened my house. Sadly, I was one of the lucky ones.
I Love this song like completely but doesnt it look like mike and tre and billie are really like doing there like green day moves while like U2 seem abit like meh :P May just be me
Back on topic. I'm sorry to U2 fans but jesus christ they smell their own farts obviously and find them to be obnoxious. Just my opinion.
From the Green Day point of view I would put it at a 6/10 because this song seems a bit diluted and doesn't have that jizz effect like most of their songs.
I hate it when people blame the government for this and that when they don't know shit about it. George W. Bush was actually a great president and sure he made a few mistakes but he is not the person to blame especially when it comes to Hurricane Katrina.
I heard Mexico sent troops. I didn't get to see them in New Orleans. I did see NOPD leave the city after the second week. Stopped some NOPD robbing a store of beer.
He told them to LEAVE the city 2 weeks ahead, + the Governor has to ask for aid. The president CAN NOT send aid without the Governors permission, which the governor DID NOT ask for.
okay, explain this. So your saying bush is physcic? because not even top meterologist saw it coming that early. More like three days after it happened,
I don't believe it was the Federal Governments entire fault. The majority goes to the CIty and State governments. When I was at the Super Dome all I saw was poor folk, same thing at the Convention Center. Nagin always had a TV camera in his face blaming everyone else. NOPD cruised by our post one nite and were looking for cars to steal. The Convention Center looked like a NOPD parking lot. The smell all over New Orleans was a mix of death, and shit.
just to clarify. it was in no way george bush's fault that it took so long for te government to respond. it was entirely the fault of the governor and nagin.
thats actually false. although it cant all be blamed on george bush, he had a lot to do with it. This is by far the dumbest comment I've heard all day.
Ive always been fond of this video and song.... I went into New Orleans the sumer after Katrina to do volunteer work. It was one of the best months spent in my life, but I always think of it like the tale of two cities; the best of times, the worst of times. On one hand, the people were amazing, and were very thankful and lots of people willing to help. The other hand was so much devestation. I came back suffering from some Post Traumatic stress, but its nothing to what so many went through
i was in katrin. I was in st. tammany parish. we had or own bomb shelter from world war 2, so we got to stay home during katrina. when we got out everything was destroyed and the sky was grey
oh i was in kenner. not during the storm, but thats where i live. i got no damage at all except for my fence fell, a part of my floor buckled, and my chimney fell. How did ur house hold up
Wow, I heard people of New Orleans are still suffering. I got activated from my Texas Guard unit to help the people of NewOrleans 1 day after Katrina hit. I stood on my feet for 24 hours by the Super Dome getting people on buses. I would do it again.
I loved the way stealth bombers are dropping crates, which at the speed a stealth bomber has to go to keep airbourne , parachute or not, would cause ridiculous distruction. that would be PHAIL. thank god the world isnt run by bono. but i understand the point of the song and i accept it. isnt it fun to be a prick?? (-:
The Federal government cannot deploy military or any other support without the permission of the governor of that state requesting it. Dont believe me? Look up the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act. Secondly, there were and still are enough troops stationed in the U.S. to respond to a natural disaster such as Katrina. That is a mandate of the National Guard. For the military to redeploy from Iraq would be pointless.
Actually Troops cannot be delpoyed outside of the country without congressional approval. And The government cannot appropiate money for the deployed Military without congressional approval once every two years.
I went as part of the Texas Air National Guard. I slept on the ground the first two weeks I was there. Shared my water and food with the good people of New Orleans. Took a walking tour of the lake and lower quarter. Saw gang members (jerks) fighting while people were trying to get on a bus out of the Super Dome. Saw dead people and animals. Saw Nagin in his hotel room at the Hyatt while people were outside in the Super dome.
I love the bashing of Bush and our military leaders for not redeploying from Iraq to New Orleans. Do you have any idea what youre talking about? First off, there is enough blame for every level of government but the majority of it belongs on the state and local level. Bush had hundreds of troops waiting on the Louisiana border but it was governor Blanco who prevented them from coming.
This was made during Hurricane Katrina in Florida, and Green Day worked with world known band: U2.
The 2 greatest bands in the world made an album all dedicated to Hurricane Katrina! After the Hurricane stopped, the people of Florida were very glad and in Starbucks they gave out the album for $1.67 each.
katrina hit the southern part of Lousiana florida recieved but a fraction of the damage that louisiana did you prick. and its called the saints are coming because we "THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS" came back from a horrible disaster and still kicked ass. so dont put your insight to something that you know nothing about.
What a great vid. Shows how the government/military don't give a crap about the USA, just oil profits and wiping out countries that stand in their way to maximize oil profits.
they totally took this song from the animals. yea remember that really old song house of the rising sun. they just changed some lyrics and made it thier own song. I LOVE GREENDAY AND U2 THOUGH!
how does this show anything on war??? its a song about katrina which was a natural disaster!! not a damn conspiracy or some shit get over all yourselves
omg wow your dumb, its how how the government should of called in troops to help the victims of katrina instead of just doing nothing about it DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR get your head outta your ass
One more thing. I'm sure i'll get a truckload of hate for saying my last comments, but none of those people went down there to help, so fuck it, their criticisms are meaningless.
Your completely right. The vast majority of people who offered aid had family and friends in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. This kind of destruction was unprecedented however; there was no contingency plan or recovery plan for levees breaking and the city being underwater. Lets not forget how much the city of Houston and surrounding areas did for those affected though. The Astrodome housed almost as many people as the Superdome did.

Then we changed the channel. Yes, the delayed response from the federal government was criminal. But let's not act too outraged, because at the end of the day, most people didn't give a shit.
You are a fuckhead. There was many warnings given out so they had a chance to get out like most of the rich did. Some had the chance and some didn't due to health. Don't forget the warning was still given. G.w is garbage
You people all can sit here and bash the goverment. Let me just tell you we've put our hearts and souls into the war and also aid of LA as soon as we were able to get deployed. It is much easier to sit here and bash other why not take it upon yourself to get into the heart of a disaster and do your PATRIOTIC DUTY!! (SSG.Loftus ARMY)
its cos the US army and government were too busy with this Iraq war business (which i thought was about weapons of mass destruction- whatever happened to that?) to save their own people in katrina, the US army was capable of all the things shown in this video but the Iraq war was viewed as more important. thats my understanding anyhoo

(SSG.Loftus ARMY)

its cos the US army and government were too busy with this Iraq war business (which i thought was about weapons of mass destruction- whatever happened to that?) to save their own people in katrina, the US army was capable of all the things shown in this video but the Iraq war was viewed as more important. thats my understanding anyhoo

the US army is big enough to deal with a flood and fight two wars, it was just the incompetence of the leaders
