@tannerleudy36 He uses old Gibson SG's play's alot of slide, with the Allman's it's mostly slide. I don't know what he uses for amps now, I've seen him use Marshalls and some sort of Fender tweed something or other. He uses minimal effects and little distortion. His tone is primarly through his fingers and glass slide, with reserved gain he gets a real creamy distortion that sounds awesome. Of course the open tunings he uses like G have a bitchin fat quality when barring the low strings ect.

Seeing Susan, Derek and the rest of the fine musicians at the Tower in Philly was really an inspiration. Being in the third row helped, and being so close to the band made for a great night. The band was so hot ~ time went way too fast. Come back soon.

Like some of the previous posters, I have only recently discovered this band thanks to Conan, but all it took was the first few bars of the song for me to know I was going to love it. And I did :) Beginning the search now for more songs!!! I hope the rest of their stuff sounds as good, there's not a lot of this type of music out there anymore. Or maybe there is, and I just don't know where to look...

Good song, but, dang, I just sampled the rest of the album on Amazon. This song is definitely the high point. The rest is mostly adult contemporary. So much potential with her voice and Derek's band. I just wish they would get raw and bluesy. Still waiting for a worthy successor to the Just Won't Burn album.

@ChuckVT83 My sentiments about Susan Tedeschi exactly - love Just Won't Burn but stopped buying her albums a few years ago because it seemed she was being dragged into bland mainstream mediocrity. Maybe she's just a 'twee' lady with an amazing raw voice, but for me she just doesn't utilise it enough.

That said I really like this song so hoepfully with the Trucks Band she might realise it a bit more. Hopefully.

- Like it. Starts of slow and mellow. Vocal quality leads us from smooth to rough especially after Trucks solo where Susan belts out the blues accompanied by the tight ensemble backing her. This is definitely the emotion you need out of music. Could she bring the vocals a bit more? Probably. But I feel for this song it gets the message across. Trucks is obviously a master and the rest of the band is excellent.

I wish Susan would elevate the passion in this one. You have to go to JANIS level on a song like this, especially with Derek and the band tearing it up. Then again, we all know that this band is all about the live show and live recordings, not as much the record, and plus this is still an amazing performance no doubt.
