  • i should fill a 2 tb drive with german scat porn, gay porn, all the best gore stuff and tell them to recover it

  • 4:40 AGGHAGHAHDGU!!!!!!!!!

  • Why use a middleman? There are mark up costs. Why not hear from Memofix directly instead of some guy reading notes?

The largest and most reliable DR company is NOT Memofish

  • thats fucking ridiculous. can someone please help me i have a hdd i put a password on it in the bios i updated the bios and now it says the password is incorrect everytime anyone now of any programs or services that wont cost me something ridiculous like these guys.

  • Comment removed

  • i have nothing on my hard drive that i would want recovered at those costs. that's both lucky and sad lol in a way

  • nah reading the advertisement for memofix :p

  • this is a fair treat mate, thank you. inspiration for my patch of the world

  • if you have no backups of your info, 7 YEARS of photos/videos of your friends, loved ones, partner(s) are invaluable. Imagine losing pictures of ALL your kid's baby to elementary school years. I would gladly spend $700 to get those back.

  • Those prices are very high. Seriously, back stuff up. I have my essentials on the cloud, and the rest on BD-R discs. I understand that the guy had a RAID5 array corrupt, which sucks, but most of that was probably unimportant (movies, tv, porn) and the essentials (digicam stuff) could've probably fit on a dozen optical dscs.... 7 years of pictures? If every six months he put the most recent pics on an optical disc, he'd be set. Kept in a cool dry place, those discs would be fine a decade later.

  • 700bucks is a bull shit

  • y u make me dizzy?

  • had to recover my laptop harddrive twice... thats 6000$! woopi for expencive recoveries! :D

  • 700$? AHAHAHAH

  • sounded quite good until i heard the price... $700?! so extortionate

  • Id use this service - if data was important enough

  • To be honest, after watching this, I went and backed up all my files. Lol

  • Linus exorcist @ 5:55 O_O

  • I like to use data recovery wizard for soft corruptions.

  • SpinRite 6 if it''s a soft error... :)

  • LINUS MARKETING , Unsubbed

  • @Jolinator that's all this channel is about bro

  • @Jolinator Wtf are you talking about? The whole channel is about showcasing products sold on their website not reviews. You're mad because he's promoting an NCIX partner? GTFO

  • Do you need to have purchased the drive from NCIX in order to go through them for the data recovery process? I have an old laptop that had a hard-drive failure, I bought from a local retailer. Is that something I can go through NCIX to fix?

  • @icecoldwolf

Your HDD does not have to be purchased from NCIX to have them do the Data recovery.

  • i want that USB ♥.♥

  • I don't see how moisture just "appears" inside the drive if you do the freezer trick PROPERLY. If you put the drive in an airtight bag, air/water vapor cannot enter the drive, and therefore there is no moisture to worry about.

Downvoted.for baseless fear-mongering and greedy company misinformation.

  • @FHCTech So what you're saying is that 100% of people remove 100% of air and moisture from the bags they place their harddrive in? you're an idiot.

  • a backup a day keeps memofix away

  • remember to backup the backups of your backups.

  • Still using Vista?? What's wrong with you Linus?

  • LinusBrandTips

  • and HOLY FUCK THATS EXPENSIVE!

  • omg they should expand to Australia, these guys are awesomely useful

  • @NCIXcom i have a core i5 750. when i increase the FSB from 133 mhz to 153 the processor speed gets a boost as well as the rams from 1333mhz to 1533 mhz. i ran prime 95 for an hour with processor temp maxed at 62C. the rams do not have heat spreader. what is the best OC option???i have a intel 655 mottherboard. and is it bad for the rams running at 1533 mhz???ur advice would be very much appreciated.

  • Don't watch @4:40 if you have epilepsy

  • Dear Linus, its called spinrite.

  • @56nano Ummm, no. Spinrite is bull-sh*t and is a fairly dangerous tool to be on the market. Stay well away...

  • Grey area is covered they never work on live data only imaged data

  • recovery software i tired never worked.. ended up throwing it out. wish i knew this

  • oops, I said Linux, not Linus.. my apologies!

  • I had a dead hard drive so I used it as a paper weight. After having it on my desk for about a year I put it back in my PC thinking it was a different drive and it worked again. Plus all the data was on it still which really confused me.

  • 700 dollars for some photo`s ? hell no for 700 dollars i fake them...

  • Stop advertising for other people to make your company money we wanna see more tech vids

  • @MSVEbaySale , the information Linus gives is very useful if you're in the misfortunate situation of needing it. This was actually one of the more useful/informative videos that I've seen on the channel. I'd like to see Linux/NCIX do a few videos on iSCSI-based SANs, and the difference between a SAN, and a mere fileserver. Since SAN storage seems to be the way of the future for both homes and for the enterprise.

  • @MSVEbaySale Uh, notice what the channel is called? NCIX TechTIPS, why would they limit themselves to showing graphics cards etc, they aren't going to just entertain you adhd short attention spanned twats.

  • What's with the wierd transitions?

  • Sadly this doesn't provides with South East Asia

  • You meant to say, snow person

  • The only drive that has ever failed on me is the Vertex 2 60GB SSD... was a case of now you see it, now you don't. I didn't actually lose anything though, since the drive was so small I stored everything on another drive. Just a pain in the ass having to reinstall Windows and such.

  • can i use memofix in germany?

  • Seagate really needs a company like this because they always die! Horrible drives, Seagate and Hitachi are a big no no.

  • @jorn89 WD's are bad too. Everyone has their own opinion. The 'message' is that with any storage medium or system in use, one should set up backup systems so that the extraordinary services of an outfit like Memofix are never required.

  • BLUE'S CLUES!! :D

  • wow slick you really suck at editing 4:40

  • This guy is an educated shamwow...good vid

  • I dont know a FUCKING thing about computers :/

but your like that ShamWOW guy :D you talk about something

that would normally bore me (like an orange Towel) in your case

computer stuff, and i find it interesting! lol

(No Hate, so dont call me a troll :p)

but you got my sub because i learned something new :D<33

  • psycho transitions

  • will this work for my gameing hard drive????? i have alienware pc so i dont know if their capable of doing gameing hard drive xD

  • @LKxDESIGN You can hardly call alienware 'gaming' hardware, it's the same components as any other computer only with a very high marked up price for a fancy plastic case on the outside. They're the same parts.

  • Vista?! Heresy!

  • I accedentally dropped my broken hdd and it worked again :)

  • Comment removed

  • They never say how much they *think* they can recover and recover stuff later. They recover all they can and then based on how much a customer is willing to pay for the data, they give that amount of data back to the customer.

  • @magister213 I highly doubt they go through the process of doing triple or quadruple head transplants on a drive for which the customer has not made a financial committment, in cases where there has been physical media damage. Do you have any evidence that they 'extort' the customer in this way? Linus' comments indicated that they are very up-front with the costs involved.

  • those prices are crazy

  • @Niqbal87 No they're not. We're talking about the professional services of Electrical/Computer Engineers here.

  • @iukea999 This isn't about Wow news. Coherence..Learn it. adios.

  • It doesn't look as professional as usual because you keep looking down, why don't you fix the notes next to the cameraman? :D

  • Hard-driver surgeons.

    Don't you love IT :D

  • Can you recover my Simpson porn from my collection of floppy drives?

  • They keep your data hostage, so if you say they didn't recover the files you want, they will trash your data.

  • Fix that hair Linus ;)

  • no matter how cute or snowman shaped they may be. lol

  • Recovering Data From Dead HDD is Extremely Expensive

Having Backups Are Way Much Cheaper (Untill 25TB)

  • @Lvent2101 Caps on the first letter of every word? this changes everything.

  • Kdodnjxjdnslsnud...ivg.idurjwkjsnkdjd........jndjd....sorry i had spasums with the flickerng

  • 05:54 I spat my drink all over my monitor

  • Shit's badly blurred at several points D:

  • Do they fix a raw drive

  • If you get moisture in the drive then you have a faulty seal on the drive, and the drive is no doubt contaminated by dust.

  • @snedie69er Actually hard drives are operated at atmospheric pressure, and they 'breathe' through air filters. Condensation inside a drive is possible. Go take a look at a hard drive from Seagate/WD sometime, they all have 'breather holes' which are connected to air filters on the inside of the drive for atmospheric pressure equalization.

  • @SUKItm

Although I am not 100% sure, I always thought they was filled with an inert gas to prevent corrosion and dust from affecting the drive components. It would only take a particle of dust 1micron in size to land on a drive head to hinder it's function. If it does use filters, those are some extremely good filters, but what I don't get is that a pc is such a dusty environment, wouldn't those filters block instantly?

  • @snedie69er No inert gases in hard drives. The rate of air exchange to the atmosphere from the drive itself is extremely small, so you're not exactly drawing much air through to equalize the pressure. Naturally you will have some air flow that is induced because of changes in barometric pressure/pressure altitude, to/from the interior of the drive, to the atmosphere. Tear an old HDD apart sometime, you'll clearly see the breather holes covered in filtration systems.

  • I love these new fade-in/fade-out effects NCIX is using these days! Really trippy!

  • @McgregorKLB fade ins? i thought that was just data coruption in the video!

  • @rattslayer Haha I know, I was only kidding ;)

  • i'm getting a little tired of the cameraman doing this like this: 6:25

  • What's that Linus? A Seagate drive died on you? Couldn't of called that one...

    *Rolls eyes*

  • In sovjet russia, hard drives recover you!

  • @103798 xD

  • @103798 i guess crazy russian doesnt like your comment

  • @103798 fake.

  • @103798 phery goot one comrade! more phodka!

  • in soviet russia, we use hammers to fix hdds

  • why would you store your photos on a raid 0 array without proper backup? stupid in my opinion cause everyone knows that this is pretty much the riskiest way to store data. raid 1 or 5 or even a simple back up would have done the job^^

  • @Weini123 RAID is not a way of backing up! If your PSU fails you still have a chance of losing your data. Raid is for data retention. A good backup is done offsite and incremental to save up on bandwidth.

I've had so many customers losing all data due not backing up. They wil never learn :)

  • @Weini123 I never said it was RAID0. I said he had it on a RAID array. It was RAID5. Sometimes arrays become corrupted.

  • @NCIXcom RAID is not a backup solution, it's just increased reliability of your storage media.

  • two dodgy edits

  • huh! I use external Hard Drive...

  • @ZarCus1984 its the same thing external HDD just has cases and the wire is USB which makes it SLOW!!

  • @Astro247z I used it for at least 3yrs in my gaming PC and haven't encountered any problem with it instead of downloading a big file directly to my HDD... yeah it is slow! but it makes my life comfortable and safe specially when I fuck up my PC...

  • i dont get why people dont backup their shit, its fucking 2011 ps. raid is not backup

  • @delameu I have 30 TB of storage, buying another 30 TB is not that cheap....

    I just live with losses.

  • yesterday I wanted to recover a folder. (by a software) anyways I found all my data but the folder that I wanted I found it but empty :( WTF

  • Some of these ads, are actually good because we do learn about great companys

  • again a tech tips about macc :/

  • 7 years of photos is code for 7TB of porn

  • @DEKARONGAMER97

    Hell original mate...

  • now i know why they have crazy russian!!

  • I have a drive that spins up and just double-clicks every couple seconds. The drive is not recognized by bios or the os. I think there's something wrong with the head, how much would a repair cost?

  • damm, $800 to recovery lost data from a HD!!! lol

  • AWESOME! Just today my Toshiba Qosmio reported that my HDD is failing and I don't have a means to back it up as i cant afford a new and external drive with the high prices from the new drive shortage, So this is just what I needed! thanks Linus!

  • Who the hell puts pictures on a raid array and doesn't backup shit?

  • Linus' face in this video's miniature is effing hilarious. XD

  • You need a better editor!!

  • HOHHH....thankgod....im saved....theres hope for me...

  • LINUS IS READING A SCRIPT! :OOOOOO

  • those people might be screwed out of a job soon :P

  • I wonder If Linus will build a computer that will Occupy Wall Street :P

  • When I built an entirely new system (current generation technology at the time; I was using 3 generations old hardware) I was so preoccupied with playing around with technology I'd otherwise never have had that I didn't bother to backup my data for an entire month and a half. In a fit of bad luck, my hard drive failed, and I lost all my documents, pictures, save games and other misc data.

It's been nearly 3 years and the drive is still sitting in storage.. Way too costly to recover.

  • Windows Vista sucks..What happened to the bench?

  • you can tell this was rushed like hell because linus seemed to read from a sheet of paper and editing was poor

  • Sad I can't send them my drives cuz they house very personal info.

  • 04:38 wtf? did i fall asleep then?

  • wtf was that edit at 4:42

  • I thought this was software like spinwrite.....

  • that shirt is from the late 80's

  • Yay for backups~

  • @atersky yeah it's a bit George Michael

  • I'm always backup my important data into file hosting and online backup services, if my HDD broken or even shattered into pieces, i just buy a new HDD and DOWNLOAD my important data from backup website, that's 100% safety way to make your data last long.

  • i thought hdds had to be taken apart in like 100% clean rooms

  • Only available for Canada or USA too?

  • this is why I use the cloud :)

  • do i look like i want my midget porn recovered ?

  • Who the hell edited this? 4:40 to 4:44

  • @thatasiannfella AHH MY EYES!!! AHAHAAH

  • @thatasiannfella new cameraman

  • @thatasiannfella aliens.

  • @thatasiannfella Butthurt? Did it trigger your epilepsy? If it didn't, shut the fuck up.

  • @Tr1pTr0p Wow.... You seem a bit butthurt. there was some dodgy editing; he was mearly commenting on the fact.

  • @Tr1pTr0p Wow. Rude much?

  • phewww. im guna have to get in touch with your guys soon then..

Ive got 3 hard drives in my shed that have died in the past, from a raid array...

All have important / safe keeping data on it, havent binned them for that reason, and nice to know i can get them sent away now to get recovered at a good price

  • special price for porn recovery?

  • Camera needs more exposure.

  • My HD crashed once before.. I was devistated that I had to download all that stuff again. Now i have it all back.. Thanks Pirate bay!

  • Guys if you need to get your hard drives working, just run a strong magnet over them! You need to get those magnets supercharged so they read better.

  • @ThisIsAGreatName don't follow this advice, it will screw with the magnetized data, not even a funny joke

  • @ThisIsAGreatName are you really that dumb? or do you just act it?

  • @ThisIsAGreatName oh wow....

  • what a cam bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I once lost 50 gigs of porn now i back that shit up

  • Very cool stuff. ^_^

  • Lost 55 gb of something inappriorate, didn't do anything.

  • holy shit didn't know ncix actually sold shit..

  • I dare you to shoot a hard drive and tell them to fix it. Period. :)

  • 7 years of photos = He had a fuck-ton of porn that HAD to be recoverd.

  • 47th.

  • Backing up right now with windows backup. :-)

  • sup with the weird transitions? :s

  • Now i know who to call when my porn drive gets corrupted.

  • you could avoid this all together and just back up your data, before failure accures.

  • @SylentCommando Sometimes you just can't back stuff up (like if you're working on the road and don't have a spare dive or one large enough handy for example), or even if you do, it could get lost in say a fire or flood or some kind of natural disaster and so on.

  • Luckily for me in India I have similar data recovery service and their service is great.
