No booster, the amp was modded for more gain.

@FJAMods I have the same amp. How would I go about doing the mod, or what should I tell an amp guy that I know cus I really need more gain on mine.

It sounds sweet. But in my opinion the original JCM 800 2203 non-reissue, no mods, sounds like no other. Incredible sound though...

how did you switch to clean on an old jcm 800 2203? I have a 1983 version, but have no idea how you did that

I get the clean tones by turning the guitar volume down. There is no added clean channel on this amp. The amp was modded for more gain.
