  • One more thing...

Anybody wanting reference material photos of real and fake A8 headphones should head over to "Flickr.com". Search on "B&O A8". You will find some terrific high resolution photos. There is one set of fakes particularly highlighted there, the ones with silver tips on the arms. But those seem much less common these days.

If you are interested in B&O A8 headphones, be very careful about non-store purchases. The fakes are still out there in great numbers.

  • NEW WARNING SIGN of fakes:

The latest round of fakes that I've spotted on eBay have a very obvious flaw: the ends of the ear stems. Rather than being tapered to a point, the fakes are chopped off (squared off) at the ends. It's VERY easy to spot. Some of them also have improper screens that don't go all the way to the edge.

Be advised that there is a guy named "Bob" from Orlando FL presently selling these with the fake box as illustrated in this video.

  • @informant007 Yep, I have just received those :-/. Watch out everyone.

I really hope eBay is going to do something about this. It is highway robbery. The seller don't check what they sell? (And buy?)

  • @informant007 ironic, i bought mine from a Bob in Orlando FL and could tell they were fake in an instant, i quickly returned them, him claiming he didn't know, yea right...

  • This video is over 3 years old and is now out of date.

Since that time, the counterfeit A8 creators have gotten clever. The new ones look even closer to the original. They've even copied the manual to look far more authentic. Unfortunately, the creator of the video spent so much time on the leather case, which I think would have been better spent with close-ups of the fake and real ones.

  • Mine matches the one on the RIGHT but my is GENUINE. I got my pair with my neuromonics device through my Audiologist who is treating my Tinnitus. My cord in the "Y" section looks exactly like the one on the RIGHT.

I think I know what the problem is. You are the one selling the FAKES so you produced a video to train everyone to buy your fakes over the genuine. LOL

  • Are you filming your screen? Are you retarded

  • @TechnicCreations

Glad I could help with this video...

and by the way...it's not in HD quality either

  • @slyrotes Good answer:)

  • The Asian rip-off industry is completely shameless. What garbage.

  • nybdy needs a BnO a8 headphones for cheap??

    mail me at nits_addihash@yahoo.com

  • Would it be a lot safer buying them on Amazon?

  • @chucknorrisownsall yes, but if they are under 80 bucks for new, dont do it.

  • i got the fakes for $13 and there not too good

  • @TDHReviews Can you do a video on the fakes (close ups). I just wanna really see the differences. Thanks if you can.

  • @headphonesandcables Sure i am soon, sub to my channel and youll see it in a few days. My camera isnt that great but ill go the best close ups i can do

  • @TDHReviews was already a subscriber :) will be sure to see the video

  • @headphonesandcables cool ill try to get to it soon

  • ahhh.... good thing there's a bang and olufesen retailer next to my house, which shares the same building as loewe tvs xD

  • Any idea where you can buy more fake bang and olufsen equipment? has the beocenter 2 been replicated yet?

  • are they both made in China?

  • @OxfordBanana No the real ones are "Made in Denmark". B&O is the best in the world

  • i have the original once sealing on kijiji for 70 bucks new

  • f**k me i was very close to buying a pair from ebay. now iv seen this, the fakes stand out. thanks

  • Shit, I missed the auction where they this headphones auctioned for 18$ :-///

  • These things are a pain to put on for the first time O;

  • Thanks for the vid. I'm trying to find some headphones that Don't fit inside the eArholes

  • Fake or not, both are made in China!!!!

  • @victorh1414

the fake, probably. B&O one are product in denmark.

  • @ermepo ummm... no they are not! I only buy from B&O shops.

  • @victorh1414

yesterday I've bought the B&O earphones in a B&O shop .magic sound and of course made in denmark:)

  • @ermepo How do you know? haha I also got them and it does not say where they are made...

  • @victorh1414 no not all are made in china the real one's are made in Denmark :)

  • Please note that earlier bang and olufsen A8 headphone's cable had a "Y" split .I bought my bang and olufsen A8 headphone from a bang and olufsen shop in 2002 and they have a "Y" split cable. Thanks

  • Thanks man, gread work.

  • The wire differences at 1:18 is sorta invalid/obsolete argument. B&O has changed the design from U shape (like on the right) to the Y shape (on the left).

B&O Changed the design in around 2005 ish. I bought mine from a B&O shop in the city where i live a few months ago.

  • have mic?????

  • does these B and O work on iphone?

  • @QinZ2

    yes!

  • I have this earphones, pretty good sound and of course original :)

  • very expensive earphones...

    I prefer Koss ,AKG, sennheiser..

  • I have this shit more than 2 years... Original ones =)

  • The fakes look like they have the speaker of an ipod earbud, i wonder if they sound as bad

  • Thanks for posting this video - I'm really keen to get a set, and don't want to get lumbered with fakes! I hadn't realised how similar the fakes look, but at least now I should be able to tell the difference. Thanks again!

  • continue:

Although the quality of the fakes are pretty good too, I think, selling fakes as original is just bad. I hate other sellers that make money by cheating others.

  • I sell earphones on ebay, and sometimes, i got cheated by my supplier. If this happens, I'd immediately find a new supplier and stop doing business with the dodgy ones.

Before listing them, I will always test and check for their authenticity by doing some online research. :)

And if they're not genuine, I will mention that they're a brandless earphones and not Bang&Olufsen, and sell them at the cost price (to recover some money).

  • hi,just checked again but mine original one definately is like in the video.maybe bang & olufsen later made a slight adjustment to the cord, cause I have mine for over 6 years i guess. Please keep in mind that the fake ones definately are being "upgraded" to look more like the original ones...enjoy the vid

  • I have to say 1:18 the wire on the right is the real one. I got 2 real A8, 1 stand alone and 1 from the Beosound 6. they are both wired like the one on the right. All the other details are correct for your video, but not that.

  • I bought Real and fake ones of e-bay just like you .

The build quality is very different between the 2 noticeably on mine; The insert into the bottom of the ear piece where it joins the wire is flexible on the proper ones, but hard plastic on the fakes.

I did get a full refund for the fakes, but only as the seller wanted to continue selling fakes and didn't want negative feedback.

If you buy off e-bay do not leave feedback untill you are sure they are genuine.

    I hate the fake sellers.

  • Two points of misconception in the video that I'd like to point out after research

    1) Not all real A8s have the U-cord, and not all fake A8s have the Y-cord either.

Basically, Bang & Olufsen changed the cord split design around 2005-ish. The A8s made before the design change all had the U-cord. And so, obviously, the fakes imitated that. After the cord change, the new counterfeits imitate the new Y-cord, but the old fakes in circulation still have the old U-cord.

  • Thanks for the video, i guess I got conned $50.00 for a pair of fake ones on ebay. Taking no more chances, I will be picking up an earset 2 or earset 3 at the BO Store.

  • Well, I definitely got fake ones for 40 USD but they work fine. The sound quality is probably not as excellent as the original B & O headphones, but apart from the embossed logo and the fact that mine have the two cables into one T, they look like the real thing. Oh how I wish I didn't see this video so that I'd stop lusting for expensive headphones!

  • shit i just bought some on ebay :(

  • I also bought some on eBay. THey where real! :) YEY

  • i didnt buy any on eBay. :)

  • jeeeesssss you had me worried there for a minute, till I remembered mine came from the B & O store. am a bit concerned about the 2 cables into 1 T piece though, mine is larger than your vid shows and looks more like the fake but they are real for sure.

  • I can see the difference...but which one is fake?

  • Lol nvm in the beginning you said the left one is always original. Sorry. Man these are good imitations.

  • oh man thanks thanks thanks for your help!!! I was thinkin about buy them on ebay and this video has opened my eyes! like my mother says nobody change cents to dolars(one cent for one dolar you know) if you want this earphones you have to pay for it... xD thanks man, take care! ;)

  • perhaps B&O should employ some of the con artists. They do a pretty good job copying...

  • great video....damn i bought the fake one!!!!for 60 euro on ebay...i knew since the first time i opened....

  • well if they sound good and work fine then it shouldnt matter if it is genuine or not.

  • unfortnately they don't sound like the originals...:(:(:(:(

  • yeah thanks for the video man. there this gay n00b trying to fool ppl about his fake phones

  • yhman i jus got some fakes

the sound qual is like any other standard

nothing exciting at all like the real b&o really are should not of bought these bad boys lol

    peace out happy shopping

  • Thank you for this video!!!

I think it is a good help for some of us...

But you can really see the difference between them!!!
