I Found This video very helpful! i love penumbra and played it a lot, but when my hardrive was fried and i lost it. after getting a new laptop i realized i forgot what i had on my laptop, including penumbra. ive tried remembering it but ended up just getting amnesia whenever i looked. it has been 2 and a half years and i gave up looking a long ass time ago. but thanks to this video i both remember what its called and are reminded to go download it, thank you DasBoSchitt! :)

Looking at your list of horror games that you've played, i have to wonder if you've ever heard of Amnesia: The Dark Decent. I havn't played it myself, but from what I've seen, the gameplay is fairly similar to Penumbra, with a mid-evil Silent Hill twist. In fact, some of the themes of the game (hallways and rooms suddenly getting dark, living guts and blood on the walls, invisible creatures following you and waiting for you to fall into the water) are very reminescent of the Silent Hill games.
