i've never been very good at origami primarily because the smallest mistake in a fold exponentially increases how messed up every fold from there on out will be especially when folds depend on another fold for the crease point

Only when the kusudama is finished it stayes put together. Before that it is always going all directions. When it really fals apart you could use a tiny piece of stickytape on the inside...

Do the pieces latch on together just by folding, or did you glue the pieces together? Kusudama models are some of my favorite but I haven't found any that doesn't require glue.

I made this also! it took me hours to create. I had difficult time assembling the actual modular. First I had to make each individual sheet...30x. :S Then it took me awhile to figure out how to make it 3D! But the final project...unbelievable.
