Batman Begins: movie with preposterous plot that took itself far too seriously.
TDK: Movie with cheep psychotic villain and filled with simplistic moral messages being beaten into the heads of the audience without any respect for intelligence.
I love the beginning, the song builds up to the main theme is awesome, Hans Zimmer is a great composer I consider him up there with John Williams and Danny Elfman
Why discussing which movie is better? They should be seen in the light of eachother. No one of them can stand alone. BB clearly has the best story-line behind it, telling us who the heroes is and how he became it. DK showed us how human our hero truly is and surpassed BB in acting-performances & roles.
0:55 Can't wait to see what part of TDKR they use that part. So far in each movie it's when Batman jumps off a building and opens his cape, hopefully we get another moment like that :)
The Dark Knight is a much better movie than Batman Begins because it has both a strong hero and interesting villains, whereas the villains in BB were not as deep as Two-face or the Joker. BB is about what it means to be a hero, whereas TDK is about anarchism vs anarchy, state terrorism vs terrorism, the pointlessness of laws or moral codes, and the need for evil to define good. TDK goes beyond BB because it talks about more than just fear. It asks questions instead of giving answers.
@Regenmacher175 Its hard to day which one is better, honestly i still dont know, but it's good that they both films focus on the different aspects of Batman, unlike other superhero film where it just feels like "same shit, different day".

@Regenmacher175 I truly respect you opinion dude, i really do, but these two films should never be turned against each other, they're the same blood, i could be wrong, but still Dark Knight Rises looks really good
@prathammajmudar Because everything eventually dies out/gets played out. For example: Family Guy is no longer funny, Smallville got hella played out cuz it was so long. You always want to end a franchise at its height (or before it dies out) like The Chappelle's show.
Guys, BB showed us a Batman movie we'd never seen. It not only delved into Batman's mysterious origin and involved characters never before placed on the big screen, but it also showed us the action and drama that is Batman with a seriousness never done before. This laid the groundwork for a sequel, a sequel that would take things to levels barely imaginable. The sequel did this. Hence, it is ultimately better. However, BB is unique and important beyond measure, thus, nothing will ever match it.
@Tripp393 No. You just think you made a clever insight by making some pointless abstract statement. TDK had different themes, morals, conflicts, characters, grander battles, greater tragedies and so on. So no, all of TDK wasn't in BB you dumb bitch. Again, nothing about that statement makes sense. If it does, explain it. If not, admit your fucking dumb and shut up.
@Tripp393 lol. OK. At least I have an analysis. I was actually looking have have an argument, but it seems you can't explain your opinion (most likely cause it's groundless and stupid) so I think we're done. Respond if you have an intelligent point to make. If you don't, then fuck off.
@Tripp393 No it doesn't. A couple themes obviously run in both films, but they're not all the same. Many of BB's dynamics are expanded and/or changed in TDK and others in TDK aren't in BB at all. This spands from the moral points of the movies to the characteristics of the antaganists, and to the hardships Batman faces. There are similarities, but just shrugging off TDK as a BB clone with bigger explosions is ridiculous.
@TheLockon00 Only it is. The joker is completely embodied by the scarecrow scenes. The first scarecrow scene is more complex than anything Joker did in TDK. When he gases Falcone it is: revenge of dead slaves from the cornfields; portal-ing back the doctors from Auschwitz to complete their experiment; The seminal subversion of human will as we know it, all rolled into one moment.
@TheLockon00 Something that Joker represents is a revulsion against American Capitalism to the point where his ideology resembles foreigners who want to destroy this country(he acts like a guy from Alfred's colonizing past in Burma). Crane already represents this. Him and his all american(yet creepy) face is helping the league of shadows destroy the place he lives in. Why the hell would someone do that? Well he hates his life in Capitalist America just like the Joker.
@Tripp393 However, the scene where the Joker talks to Dent in the hospital and finalizes his transition into Two-Face is much better and has much more signifficance than the Crane scene. BTW nihilism doesn't mean "lack of emotion". Speaking of Two-Face, you didn't address him at all. Since your aim is to simplify the entire Joker (who was well represented in the film) into a Crane rip off, you'd think mentioning Two-Face would be important too.
@TheLockon00 Being that BB's filmmaking is much more fast paced it deals with Dent very quickly. Dent in BB is Gotham's DA Finch. The point of Dent is that you cannot use bad tactics to accomplish good things. You cannot use power to root our power. You cannot be a good guy in a corrupt system. This is why Finch gets killed off. But in TDK Dent/Finch lasts the whole movie. This is proof that TDK is BB slowed down. And there's nothing really wrong with that.
@TheLockon00 Another thing the Joker represents is nihilism, the lack of emotions. There's good emotion, there's bad emotion, but worst of all there are some people with no emotion. There is no greater moment of nihilism's threat between the 2 movies than when Crane gases batman. It is awesome in its ruthlessness, the way it takes Bruce's entire life, all his hardships and (almost literally) tosses it out the window, as if this life is a dead cold place and we are just pieces of meat.
@Tripp393 Well that first part about Crane is inaccurate. Crane's costume was never designed to represent slaves and neither he nor his toxin were meant to represent the nazis. Also, your analysis of Crane being anti-capitalism is folly since he wasn't trying to destroy the city. He thought they were going to hold it for ransom. Doesn't sound overly anti-capitalist to me. While the scene where Crane gases Batman is amazing, there's nothing nihilistic about it (or Crane in general).....
@TheLockon00 Also, a hint that colonialism/slave treatment is a big part of the film is the beginning. It's not for nothing that the film starts with a white boy stealing an indian arrowhead.
@anirudhkrishnamani I like Begins more that TDK because it focused more on the character of Batman. Hope TDKR does the same and beleive me,I have high hopes both forit, the new Superman film AND the new Spiderman film. Yes I didn'tlike the other Spidey films.I love SPiderman and all but the films sucked.
@anirudhkrishnamani i love the training scenes in the mountain, i like both for different reasons, since ras al ghul is returning im more happy than ever, tdkr will go back to its roots with the impact of the dark knight.
@anirudhkrishnamani are you kidding me? batman begins was hella boring until the end when Gordon showed the Joker card i was like ohhhhhhhhh ssshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttt
@anirudhkrishnamani Begins inspires me to rise up and be a better man but Dark knight makes me question the society i live in. Dark knight expands on everyone elses character (giving Bruce the short end of the stick) where as Begins only focused on Bruce (obviously)
Batman begins > The Dark Knight. Yes Joker was phenomenal. But Batman just wasn't as Iconic in The Dark Knight as he was in Batman Begins. I honestly feel The Dark Knight didn't deserve such a cool title. The movie just bugs me too much to really like it. But I LOVE Batman Begins.
@118Cashmore the nolan films are closer to the books than any other batman films ever made actually. the comics are darker and more realistic than you might think. at least over the last 25-30 years
@guerrillajack would call any of his run, all that realistic? i mean sure its dark and has a similar tone to what nolan's doing but then again you've got all the stuff with the black glove and Dr.hurt and zurr en arrh, seems like stuff nolan wouldnt touch on
@MercWithAMouth1 well chris nolan didnt create batman. and if he can't do a REAL batman movie without making it too realistic, than i guess he's just not THAT good to begin with. people need to remember, this is fantasy. it's derived from a comic book. and i never said batman's run as a whole, just some select books here and there...
@guerrillajack Hence the reason why he is going with the more plausible villains ( Joker for example could exsist...to a degree anyway same with Two-Face but he would most likely die within hours from bacterial infection) as opposed to implauisble villains such as Bane and Man-Bat,
@starkiller20293 I think there is room to include some of the more fantasy-laden elements from the comic book series. Once Nolan finishes up on his trilogy, Time Warner may decide to commission a new Batman series and allow a new director to take the helm 10 years from now. It's basically what Sony is doing with Spider-Man. I do like what the makers of the videogame Batman: Arkham Asylum have done with the series, however, and look forward to both Arkham City and Dark Knight Rising.
its not who i am underneath but what i do that defines me
omg that scene was just so awesome how reachel figures out its bruce cuz she said the samething not seeing bruce as high class person, but now she realizes what kind of person bruce is omg it was just so well done.
I'm gonna guess that in Batman 3, they're gonna put Harley Quinn in because of the Joker. But I also have the feeling they'll put the Riddler in because of Scarecrow. Since in the comics they were like, a criminal couple for some crimes. Or they might put Poison Ivy in for Two-Face's death, and if Harley's put in. As long as Ivy, the Riddler, or Catwoman, are put in, I'm happy!
@pheo99nix I believe the creators of the movie are going to use more "realistic characters", so it's a very small chance Poison Ivy will make an appearance. If they put her in, PLEASE be a hot actress.
@superhamzah85 wait were u just reading all these comments? i mean i typed that seven months ago (n yea it was funny) but still, did u hav nothing to do while listening to this or something?
They're not the "Latin" names for bat species you stupid american/canadian ignorant piece of shit. They're the "Original" names of the Bat species which happens to be in Latin since americans can't name their own country properly.
You sir, are an Internet douche. The "original" names of these bat species are in Latin. You said it yourself, "names" and "Latin". That makes them Latin names. Hahaha, you're an idiot. Keep cursing and carrying on all you want about Americans and Canadians being "filthy, stupid" people, but it doesn't change the fact that in trying to insult us you contradicted yourself. Why couldn't you have just enjoyed the music? It's sad that you're a Batman fan. Gotham is in America by the way.
wow calm down geez and by bashing americans and canadians? What the hell does that have to do with knowledge about songs or the movie? You're really a piece of shit bringing a country into this
Gotham does not exsists. and if there is a place with such criminals and corrupton, it is, regletebley, argentina (i hate that obligation to call it "home")
How ever, i thik "idiot" is a "Gentle" description.
His idiotic agresivity is an evidence of our "friend's" limeted mind. and a great confirmaton is that he sad Latin rules. Latin is an idiom, idioms are sound you make in an determinated order. no idiom is better than another.
you really need to calm your ass down i mean really bashing another country for not knowing the names of a fucking bat? I mean have some sort of common sense not everyone knows everything like you so sorry bastard
Do not apologies to idiots like this. they do not deserve it. since we can keep respectfull (for the agression to your contry, you are still respectfull to him), we are waaay better. never forget that. But, even when i live in Mexico, i am totally agree with you, he's an... "pedazo de mierda putrefacta" (I don't know how to say this in your idiom)
you and the ones of your kind... i'll never understand in what does it helps that you insult a country or a person if you do not even show your face, since you are in a scren.
Please, do not be like the rest of humans, a pathetic plague that knows nothing but searching fights. you're jus a bully.
By the way, my name is Matias Rodrigues, i live in Mexico. (jus in case you want to say that i do not show my face) Do not awnser me. i'm not gonna entablish contact with one of your kind after this

118Cashmore 1 year ago
@118Cashmore the nolan films are closer to the books than any other batman films ever made actually. the comics are darker and more realistic than you might think. at least over the last 25-30 years

@MercWithAMouth1 what about grant morrison.
guerrillajack 1 year ago
@guerrillajack would call any of his run, all that realistic? i mean sure its dark and has a similar tone to what nolan's doing but then again you've got all the stuff with the black glove and Dr.hurt and zurr en arrh, seems like stuff nolan wouldnt touch on
MercWithAMouth1 1 year ago
@MercWithAMouth1 well chris nolan didnt create batman. and if he can't do a REAL batman movie without making it too realistic, than i guess he's just not THAT good to begin with. people need to remember, this is fantasy. it's derived from a comic book. and i never said batman's run as a whole, just some select books here and there...
guerrillajack 1 year ago

I liked Dark Knight Better, but it didn't have the amazing end that Batman Begins had with the intricate plan to destroy the city.

PaintSniffer07 1 year ago
I'm gonna guess that in Batman 3, they're gonna put Harley Quinn in because of the Joker. But I also have the feeling they'll put the Riddler in because of Scarecrow. Since in the comics they were like, a criminal couple for some crimes. Or they might put Poison Ivy in for Two-Face's death, and if Harley's put in. As long as Ivy, the Riddler, or Catwoman, are put in, I'm happy!
pheo99nix 1 year ago
@pheo99nix I believe the creators of the movie are going to use more "realistic characters", so it's a very small chance Poison Ivy will make an appearance. If they put her in, PLEASE be a hot actress.

@pheo99nix catwoman & Poison Ivy will never be put in

They're not the "Latin" names for bat species you stupid american/canadian ignorant piece of shit. They're the "Original" names of the Bat species which happens to be in Latin since americans can't name their own country properly.
And you obviously got that from me in Tadarida..
"All Musics names are names of Bat species."
Stupid filthy north america piece of shit, geez.
InfernalBr 2 years ago
And since Latins rule obviously, everyone knows that, your women know that.
InfernalBr 2 years ago
You sir, are an Internet douche. The "original" names of these bat species are in Latin. You said it yourself, "names" and "Latin". That makes them Latin names. Hahaha, you're an idiot. Keep cursing and carrying on all you want about Americans and Canadians being "filthy, stupid" people, but it doesn't change the fact that in trying to insult us you contradicted yourself. Why couldn't you have just enjoyed the music? It's sad that you're a Batman fan. Gotham is in America by the way.
WWBTOYL 2 years ago 2
wow calm down geez and by bashing americans and canadians? What the hell does that have to do with knowledge about songs or the movie? You're really a piece of shit bringing a country into this
thecrow345 2 years ago 3
Gotham does not exsists. and if there is a place with such criminals and corrupton, it is, regletebley, argentina (i hate that obligation to call it "home")
How ever, i thik "idiot" is a "Gentle" description.
His idiotic agresivity is an evidence of our "friend's" limeted mind. and a great confirmaton is that he sad Latin rules. Latin is an idiom, idioms are sound you make in an determinated order. no idiom is better than another.
Greetings from

you really need to calm your ass down i mean really bashing another country for not knowing the names of a fucking bat? I mean have some sort of common sense not everyone knows everything like you so sorry bastard
thecrow345 2 years ago 2

I didn't realize that every one of the tracks on this soundtrack Corynorhinus, Nycteris, Antrozous are the latin names of different bats
