The 2007 test is more accurate. In this test they dont subtract the time it takes the driver to realize he passed the 100mph. It should mention the 0-100 time and 100-0 time, separately.

The figures aren't important here. This whole argument about the vantage winning isn't important. On a surface like that 2 vantages would get different results. One would be faster one would be slower. Different drivers also affect the times. He even states in the video that the GTR and Caterham tests were done on a different day and the track was slightly damp.
Theres no way a V8 Vantage is quicker (especially not from a stand still) than cars with roughly the same weight, but more traction (4wd or rear engined GT2) AND more power. The new E92 M3 plays in the same league as the Vantage performance wise, and a GT2 / Gallardo etc. will eat the M3 for breakfast. Take a close look at the speedo from the Vantage, they started to hit the brake at 90 mph ON THE SPEEDO (which is even less in real), that explains the unrealistic performance of the Vantage.

The DBS vs AMV8 test was botched, in this video it shows the V8 getting to 100mph way faster than the DBS, and we know for a fact that the DBS can reach 100mph in 9.4 vs 10.6 for the V8

I have watched the GT2 beat the ZR1 and im sorry if you don't like it but it all looked pretty fair to me they couldn't get traction off the line in the vette and the gearbox in the vette was slower the guy said he thought that if they took that out of the equation the ZR would win which it did in the roll on, the GT2 is of course German it's not a conspiracy mate.

The GTR accelerates and brakes better than the Vantage, and other reviewers have gotten MUCH better 0-100-0 times out of all of these cars. Seems a little fishy no? Watch some other of Autocars reviews, they ALWAYS favor British cars. And no, the ZR1 had tons of traction of the line. But if you actually carefully watched the video you'll see it started later than the GT2.
And the gearbox in the ZR1 is by no means slow. It's faster than the GT2's gearbox, the GT2 doesn't have a short throw shifter which makes it much easier to shift fast in the ZR1. They just plain sucked ass at driving. Everyone knows the ZR1 accelerates faster than the GT2.
And where did you get that bullshit statement, nowhere in the video did a guy say he thought if they took out the slow gearbox the ZR1 would win. That is complete and total BULLSHIT.
In any case I can assure you there are no potential GTR customers now running down to the nearest Aston Martin dealership and visa versa they are completely different cars aimed at a totally different market, likewise GT2's and ZR1's.

The DBS vs AMV8 test was botched, in this video it shows the V8 getting to 100mph way faster than the DBS, and we know for a fact that the DBS can reach 100mph in 9.4 vs 10.6 for the V8

Exactly there not going to be biased towards the base level Aston are they there going to try to big up the latest most expensive model surely.Autocar are not biased I have been reading this mag since the 70's it is very well repected and has been doing the 0-100-0 for ever, the guy in the Vantage just hooked up really well and got a flyer it happens like that sometimes.The car that surprised me was the Caterham ive heard it do this in the low 11's.

NO. I'm saying since they're a BRITISH car reviewer they over exaggerate the abilities of BRITISH cars. They've been doing this ever since a little while after 2000. They have also been extremely negative towards American cars. In a drag race test they had a ZR1 lose to a GT2 which is COMPLETELY false. They are in general a dishonest car reviewer, probably the most biased I've ever seen.
There is NO WAY that a Vantage beat a GTR, as well as some of the other cars that were in that video.

Ok 1st off there is no way I would expect a vantage to beat a GTR but saying they exaggerate British cars is BS! I have watched the GT2 beat the ZR1 and im sorry if you don't like it but it all looked pretty fair to me they couldn't get traction off the line in the vette and the gearbox in the vette was slower the guy said he thought that if they took that out of the equation the ZR would win which it did in the roll on, the GT2 is of course German it's not a conspiracy mate.

You're fucking stupid, there is no other word for it. And do you have ANY idea how the GTR performs? The GTR accelerates and brakes better than the Vantage, and other reviewers have gotten MUCH better 0-100-0 times out of all of these cars. Seems a little fishy no? Watch some other of Autocars reviews, they ALWAYS favor British cars. And no, the ZR1 had tons of traction of the line. But if you actually carefully watched the video you'll see it started later than the GT2.

And the gearbox in the ZR1 is by no means slow. It's faster than the GT2's gearbox, the GT2 doesn't have a short throw shifter which makes it much easier to shift fast in the ZR1. They just plain sucked ass at driving. Everyone knows the ZR1 accelerates faster than the GT2.
And where did you get that bullshit statement, nowhere in the video did a guy say he thought if they took out the slow gearbox the ZR1 would win. That is complete and total BULLSHIT.

In any case I can assure you there are no potential GTR customers now running down to the nearest Aston Martin dealership and visa versa they are completely different cars aimed at a totally different market, likewise GT2's and ZR1's.
P.s most of us over here do actually love the ZR1 too (were just bored of the Americans telling us it's better than our Astons/Porsches/Ferraris because it's not and never will be.

Well hurf durf no shit there isn't. The GTR is a better performing car than the V8 Vantage, EVERYONE knows that. But that isn't the point, the point is that they always skew results for American and British cars. It's not like it will increase or decrease sales, that's not the point.
And if you're talking about performance, there are only 4 things that beat the ZR1. Enzo, MC12, Zonda, Viper ACR. That's it. There is no Aston that performs better than a ZR1.

And no, the DBR9 may have beaten it in those LeMans, but the DBR9 still got less laps than the C6.R in previous LeMans. The lap record for the DBR9 at LeMans was 344 laps, the lap record for the C6.R is 355 laps.

My son worked on the One-77 engines, they were built at Cosworth Engineering Northampton.
My best friend is a test driver for Aston Martin /Jaguar/Land Rover in Gaydon Warwickshire.
They have both said the One-77 is......
A stunning car and has set times in testing that have way exceeded AM's ambitions.

The engine was tested at Cosworth at over 800hp (I have a Video if you want)
It runs in a slightly detuned setting in the car at 750hp.This is from a normally aspirated engine, bit like the Mac F1, don't want any turbos or nasty old superchargers spoiling the experience.
At the Gaydon site there is a 2.5 mile test track plus a road simulation course a bit like the one at millbrook/bruntingthorpe

Superchargers and turbochargers only spoil the experience if they lessen engine response or have lag. This is not the case with the ZR1.

I have seen all the "so called lap records" set at the ring.
I have also heard Matt F (garage 419)saying that he had heard from "A very credible source"
That they along with the GTR times where seriously exaggerated.
When the ZR1 or ACR or GTR set those times under controlled conditions by truly independent testers,like the Zonda,Maser, and Enzo I will not only accept them but I will contact you and apologise for my scepticism.
Until then I am definitely not convinced.

CORNERS? The ZR1 is only 0.3 seconds faster than the GTR on a 13 mile nurburgring with ALLEGEDLY significantly higher lateral g's on the skid pan and faster slalom times. The reality is, all the evidence shows GM falsify statistics and figures for their cars to look better than they really are.

Regardless of Autocar's tests the GT2 is a very good match for a ZR1.
