Lol, it took my Dad like 2 years to beat this game. He kept getting stuck on different parts so there were plenty of times when he would just stop playing for a while. He even let on my my uncles borrow it and beat it before he did.

I remember how satisfied he was when he finally beat it.

When I found out this level existed I was traumatised - Croft Manor is the place you go to chill and have fun messing about, it was as good as the game for me as a kid. That alarm is chilling and having to defend yourself with the shotgun in the midst of it all... it won't be the same relaxing place ever again!

You associate Lara's home with safety so it's extra chilling. You know the geography of the mansion so well that you can only imagine where these enemies are at this moment in time; maybe there's one hiding in the maze, one concealed behind the kitchen cabinet, one resting on top of the obstacle course perhaps. Horrifying.

Yup. Try running around the maze with no flares. All you can hear is footsteps, gun shots and dogs panting and woofing. In the pitch black. Verrrry terrfying. And its easy to get lost..

I actually found this level to be one of the more terrifying. Immediately when you start the level, they're coming for you. I was so tense because any minute they would be right beside you. The game was quite glitchy so the enemies would spawn in weird places in their own leisure. Once I hid Lara in a safe spot, set the controller down for over ten minutes and then a dog rounded the corner and pounced on Lara. You felt the enemies were alive, because the AI was so radical.

Most likely, it's behind one of those doors in the main hall that's usually closed.

There are 5 doors upstairs on the main hall. 3 Are accessable: Lara's Bedroom, the music room, and the attic. What lies behind the other 2 are a mystery.

Mmmm, that's interesting. Your end boss only took eight blasts of the shotgun to kill. Mine took sixteen at close range! I wonder why that is. In fact, it only takes half of the ammo to kill the bad guys on your version for some reason. Is this the PC version or something? That must be it, because it takes more ammo to kill the bad guys on the PlayStation.

After you finish the PlayStation version, all the enemies are 2x stronger. I think every time you finish Home Sweet Home the enemies double their hit points, but I only think it can go up to a maximum of 4x. The PC version is always the same difficulty, no matter how many times you play it through. I used to have the PlayStation version until the CD messed up, now I own the PC version.

the daytime lara's home is the training level ; D This is the last level on the game, which you get to after retrieving the Dagger of Xian. Differences are; it is night, the lights are on (obviously), Lara gets a shotgun, Lara's wearing a different outfit and there are enemies. I think that's about it.

play through the entire story mode. This is the very last level. You get the dagger in the 2nd to last level of story mode.

You start with the key. But you don't start with it in training mode.

I used to wonder why on earth everything was so huge and out of proportion IE whenshe jumps onto the kitchen counter. It's cause the game was built on a block system like a gameboy system except in 3D. Im a game developer so I helped develop a couple of gameboy games which helped me understand how to do 3D level design. Thanks for the fond memories Italianguy. I watched all the walkthrough clips of this game.
