He may be a very cool character, and one hell of a last boss, with a damn good theme, but daaaaamn....he still can't top Kefka. I hate comparing FF's to eachother, because it ruins them.They're each their own game..But when it comes to the villains,Kefka is definitely the greatest. I hope to see a FF6 remake on the 3DS.

- I had to play it several times over :P I got to the end and accidentally saved over my only save,never made that mistake again... years later I replayed it again but my memory card... exploded... years later I played it again and finally beat it. hell I even watched my mother play through it completely as a kid and again as an adult.

@SlayerZaraki I think they just said that to try and blow the whole sephiroth character out of proportion. They are trying to make money off him so they need to portray him as the strongest being in the ff world. BUT, if you pay attention to the storyline of kefka, you will see that he absorbs the powers of 3 GODS. i don't even know how they made it possible for him to be defeated.

I think Kefka is the best for a few reasons. He fucked the world up worse than any other villain in the FF series. His badass Joker-like watch the world burn personality. His excellent music, and his success.

Actually, Tetsuya Nomura confirms that Sephiroth did indeed achieve godhood by his own hand. It's all in the Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega. They even go so far as to say that he is the most powerful entity in the Final Fantasy universe, bar none. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me, but hey. It's their character.

@SlayerZaraki - I always thought that Sephiroth was cool creation, but the reason i think Nomura says this about sephiroth is because his body was actually destroyed and only his Will was intact and he was still able to wreak havoc on the world. (Well that and he DID create the character lol) I dont understand this Kefka vs. Sephiroth fanboy shit.... they ended up both being angels (gods) but in the end were taken down by regular folks with some magic on their side

@neoarchangemon Here's the thing. Sephiroth never actually made it to godhood. Unlike Kefka, who succeeded in that about halfway through the game. Kefka is the only Final Fantasy villain to ever ascend to godhood. None before and none since. Another fun fact, if you do your research, Havoc Wing and Heartless Angel, attacks that have been claimed as signatures of Sephiroth's, were actually taken from the Kefka.

Love that 42-second intro for this song. Its fast-paced, tensive, and even has some panic/insanity at the end of it, which sets the stage for the final battle against the manic, sadistic, clown-like god: Kefka Palazzo. The rest of the song is entertaining too; makes me want to see a speedy and action-packed clash of the fight itself.

Mateus never became a god at all. That wasn't considered official. The second mode of the game is just that, a bonus dungeon. As for KEfka, he did in fact become a god. The only two FF villains to wholly succeed at godhood were Kefka and Sephiroth. Kefka became one and Sephiroth was basically an artificial god created by man.

The crator that the Black Materia's meteor would have created would have to be repaired by the planet and the lifestream

Sephiroth was going to use this new and fresh wound and weakness to absorb the lifestream into himself and thus become a god

As a result, he never actually hit godhood, close but no cigar

He was one of the worst villains in the series anyway and OWA has absolutely nothing on dancing mad, it's not even second best as far as final bosses go in final fantasy. Neo exdeath and Zeromus' themes are better.
