  • the 99% is saying that the 53% is getting fucked over.

  • I live in Canada so I'm not part anything

  • to make your voice heard:

    stand up

    speak up

    shut up

    sit down

    repeat as necessary

  • Like yourself, I agree with both. I work my ass off, yet I'd be more than willing to protest because the 1% did fuck us all over.

  • 1%

  • The new movement! I am now the 0.0001927% and I want the rich peoples money!

  • so wait do you have to have 3 jobs to be in the 53%?

I have two but i work an average of 64 hours a week 80 hours a week during holidays

I have three shirts and two pairs of pants

I am 20 years old and two months pregnant

my boyfriend goes to Penn State full time so I'm the bread winner

    so am i 53% or 99%?

    probably both

  • 53%

  • He wears make-up...

  • 1% because it's the government that allowed the banks to make the loans. protestors are in the wrong damn city

  • Your right it would be so much easier to blindly follow

  • The hole occupy wall street was just completely fucking stupid. No one there really even had an idea why they were protesting, like ' our lives suck, we didnt go to school, we spend all our money on crack and pabst blue ribbon, so fuck you for doing something with your life ' Some of the most stupid shit in the world, what did they even accomplish? Fucking nothing at all.

  • awkward..... i just drank some Dr. Pepper 10...

  • Its so hard being moderate!

  • I'm part of the dear 99% that is actually 4%, stop rioting and shut up so that my taxes go to something worthy other than cops to patrol these riots

  • Rhianas an ugly skank >.>

  • Honestly, I don't think occupy Wall Street is going to do anything. But hey, everyones entitled to their own opinion.

  • Am in the uk and i didnt have to opt in..

  • I am the 1% that worked all his life, spent hundreds of hours getting better at my job , finally getting what i dreamed , and then getting rocks trowed at my window and being called a "money-whore" and fearing the safety of my family .

  • lolz "the occupy movements seem to have some legs and are spreading" giggity

  • The amount of uneducated shit that is being spewed into the comment section is fucking amazing.

  • idiot

  • Rihanna's just unfairly fxcking gorgeous.

And honestly, there's truth to both groups; the 99% is whining, in essence. Rightfully so, but whining. The 53% works hard for their accomplishments, but virtually slaves, and fails to hold those accountable that truly are.

    Toughie, really.

  • Doctor pepper is horrible :P

  • i'm with you on loving and disagreeing with 53% and 99%

  • But seriously the 53%

  • The 1%!

  • Ur awsome

  • I just got the iPhone 4. I wouldn't use the 4s features anyway. The 4 has what I need! :))

  • To the guy working three jobs thats fucking dumb. Sure you are busting your balls on three jobs but thats only because the 1% fucked you over. Don't you think it would be much better if you only had to work 1 job and be doing just as good?

  • i agree and disagree with both sides really

  • One of my friends asked siri or something like it "i need a place to hide a body" and it gave him a list of places lol

  • The "53%" complaining to the "99%" about working 3 jobs in order to sustain their lifestyle is stupid. It's like being a slave to a system and then trying to pride yourself on how hard you work to obtain the bare minimum of livelihood while the people on top continue to plummet you in a position where you need to exponentially work harder. Its so circular.

  • @postmodernmusic1 exactly!...it's like when I was trying to find work people were insulted I even applied or inquired...fast forward a year later I have a good income from the internet so I don't do traditional jobs. Now they try & tell me to get a real job. like them & work 3 different jobs,no sir, can't pull me N to your slave world & I'm legitimate if I don't slave been there don that if this helps them feel better...people be free any way you can it's your life no one else!

  • it's all fun and games and until we withhold sex and then it's so unfair.

  • Rihanna is not sexy.

  • I thought that guy was going to kill himself.

  • I'm part of the 53% because I actually have a work ethic and went to a top college and chose medicine as a career. The retards that chose management from the University of Phoenix and are trying to run their McDonald's successfully are those saying, "Fuck Wall Street!"

  • @CR7equalsLM10 well not everyone can be a doctor..or get into/pay a top college/university...and it's not just that they don't get enough money; its that the "1%" are kinda fucked up.

  • I will also add that I left a lot out of my post because of the character limit and to avoid rambling for decades on a problem that has and will exist for as long as I could spend talking about it.

  • Q: "Which group do you agree with MORE?"

A: Neither. 99% is 3% closer to accomplishing something. 53% is 100% done doing anything to fix the problem. That's just my opinion. Maybe I missed something.

  • @TheSatafly

So your from the future than, since your already know whats going to happen ?!

For the rest of us with uncertain knowledge about the future we got to try to change something, maybe it works

maybe it doesn't. if we don't try it's most definitely not going to change...

The anger that drives the 99% is very deeply routed it's not going to fade, it might take few more runs, so what. Slow and steady wins the race!

  • HELP ME

  • but that just what i think. there are holes in every point of veiw that i've heard so far, i'm not saying that what i'm proposing will work but as far as i can see nothing will.

  • well if theres a 53% and a 1% that would mean that the 99% is really the 46% right. the 53% is causing this to coutinue. if we stop working for the 1% then they would be forced to fix it by paying more or do all the work themselves, rather then keeping all that money. so we can continue to barley survive? true if we stopped working altogether alot of us would die, but protesting isn't really do any thing at all. we need to force the 1% to wake up and say we're done feeding your greed NOW!

  • @jamiejuicejamiejuice 100% agreed. A study showed that only 16% of them didnt have jobs

  • Potato.

  • "So much easier to blindly follow"

You are blindly following, Phil. The guy that started the "53%" consider starting up tumblrs as one of his "jobs".

Also, the 53% itself is supposed to be based on the 53% of people who pay income taxes.. because the other 47% aren't earning enough to qualify for paying it(though they still pay payroll taxes so technically they're still taxed!).

  • Screw them both just change Democrcy to somthing better

  • Hmm I don't think my parents will let me watch porn now

  • we have a chocolate bar in the UK, called Yorkie. and thats advertised as "not for girls"

  • It's not like the protesters don't have jobs! How would they live and buy their signs? (lol). They just care so much about the movement that they are putting their lives on hold practically just to try and save us all. 99% over the people who will work 3 jobs for the rest of their lives and do nothing about it. I am saying that and I am def in the 53%.

  • Lol you just said occupy wall street spread its legs XD

  • Haha Misogyny! (0_0'')

  • @Giggle69able Maybe those people that cant afford their mortgages, should rethink living in a house that they now cant afford. They must make some tough decisions about their finances.

Our constitution DOES NOT GUARANTEE equal outcomes in life.

  • @Giggle69able I'm not working for nobody but my family. I don't work hard, just so I can give someone who doesn't/cant/wont work as hard as me, some of my paycheck, so they dont have to.

My pay check belongs to me, not you, nor anybody else, regardless of how much I earn.

  • I agree with both but I tend to more agree with the 53% =)

I think 53% are not pessimists but realists?

  • No Phil, Rihanna's starting to look like Tina Turner - what with that dodgy hairdo.

That's not sexy......not sexy at all......

  • @NeneValleyHarriers amen, my friend. Amen to that. :)

  • OWS is a large inclusive movement. I certainly don't agree with everyone involved but I do agree with the general messages. The movement as a whole is definately not anti-american, anti-democratic or even anti-capitalist. People are angry about the current state of the economy and how the richest people of corporations and banks affected it in their favor and not in the peoples and their control of politics. Beware of media with political and financial agendas like Fox News.

  • What needs to happen is for Americans to be more informed about how the government is run, how policy is made, and the political groups involved. We need average people who are in the 99% and 53% to run for office and replace the rich and wealthy in power. It's Simple, but I haven't seen anyone step up to the plate...

  • Clickety clack...

  • 53%

  • My dad is blind and has the new ios 5 and it really helps him a lot with using his iPhone!

  • Its Funny cos the mothers union logo looks like a strange looking penis, and they are on the subject of censoring explicit content (to a degree). hahaha

  • Well if your audience is willing to be educated about the credit crisis they should google "the crisis of credit visualized" from vimeo

  • 3 %

  • 53%+99%=152%

  • @whenxdovesxcry

    53%+99%+1%=153

  • @whenxdovesxcry dislike. I made that same joke a while ago.

    Haha I kid!

  • @whenxdovesxcry shouldn't it be 53%+99%+1%=153%

  • I think I can identify with the 53% more than the 99%.

  • 99%, When you get a political movement that is gaining support from both the far left and the far right I think that that is a giant signal that we have a huge fucking problem that needs to be fixed. My dad, conservative republican, my mom, full fledged democrat. Both of them, extremely proud of me for going down to occupy Portland between school and work.

I want change, and I will work for it, but I'm also paying for school by myself and that comes first. Occupiers don't equal squatters.

  • aren't 53% included in 99%

    mathematically speaking ?

the 53% kind of get fucked the same way by the 1%

they just have more endurance or maybe luck.

Working 3 jobs is very honorable,

but i guess its more a necessity than a choice.

Who would want to work 3 jobs if working 1 job were sufficient.

I'm having a hard time understanding why the 53% need their

    own movement ?

  • 53

  • 99

  • 53%

  • I'm 13. I don't know what the hell is going on. I vote 99%

  • 53%

  • hey phil did you already give away the game??? I'm for the 53% due to the fact that they are closer to the american ideals than the 99% which have many claiming to hate america... can't get down with that have too many friends that have died defending our country to side with a group that claims to hate it...

  • thank god im irish :D

    i like porn

  • im a lady lover, show me the boobies.

  • People need to work to leave ....

  • If they made a drink exclusively for women, nobody would say anything. In fact, there ARE drinks exclusively made for women. I hate feminists.

  • @SchizoManatee YES--what ever happened to separate but equal?

  • 53%

  • What do you call a woman with an opinion? Wrong.

  • check my vids and new site where where can speak da truth all day

  • I work 2 part time jobs with no benefits and struggle to pay my bills. But I side with the 1%. Make something for yourself. Quit griping! GAH!

  • 99%

  • i don't understand where they came up with 53%. does that mean 47% of people don't work? i have to work 2 jobs but i'm not taking a job away from someone else. nobody wanted it at the place i work at, so i took the opportunity to grab it. doesn't mean i'm retarded. sometimes you have to make your own "double rainbows." =)

  • @ajoytob No, in order to pay a federal income tax, you need to make a certain amount of money. When you have to pay your taxes by April 15th each year, you have to do some math to find out how much you owe. If you don't make enough money, you don't have to pay it. Usually if you just work a min. wage job you don't give money to the govt, they give it to you. Pretty much the 53% are saying they're contributing and the 99% protesters are leeches on society.

  • Think of the economy like the human body, Money is blood flowing through an economic circulatory system. The Banks are the heart, and all the lower classes are the smaller blood vessels. If a whole bunch of capillaries get blocked, it isn't so serious, but as you get to more important blood vessels, the more important it is they don't get blocked. Bankers are hording the money like a blockage in the system and they're the heart of the economy. We've had a heart attack, and we need serious help!

  • Dear 53%, You have to work 2 - 3 jobs because the 1% aren't paying you enough to sustain yourself with one job! People don't want money for free they want millionaires to be taxed properly so they don't fuck up the economy by hording all the money, (Money needs to circulate in order for it to work) and if you're working more then one job your taking away a possible income for someone who is unemployed! I'm sorry 53% but i have to inform you, you are retarded!

  • I'm with the 53% The OWS group really just want free health care and free college tuition.

  • @robopam Do you know how the federal reserve operates? how about the banks?

  • There is no 53%... I'd say my piece but iluvdrakeandjosh already said it all. If you claim to be 53%, just, just...gah...just stfu and keep the crap in the can i.e. your mouth.

  • @magicaIpineapple

Firstly,I typed it on my phone with predicted so I couldn't see the full screen. Secondly, I can spell better than most youtube adults. Finally and most importantly spelling is less important than my opinion which was what I was asked.

  • @Fbinitie

spell better than most youtube adults huh

isn't that like saying you're better at darts than a guy with one eye

  • 53% .... two jobs (graveyard and days) although the 99% have a valid point, paying bills is what needs to b done. By all!!

  • I like working for my own income... not someone else's. I'm pretty sure economist Claude Frederic Bastiat would agree.

  • I would say the 53% have more of a cause

  • I think there should be a national sales tax instead of income tax. It would promote saving and make taxation equal to the amount of money you spend.

  • Wallstreet needs to be held accountable; and not given bonuses and bailouts for failing.

  • @ProtocallShot You shut the fuck up I don't remember talking to trash like you so get lost ...

  • So who's to say that the 99% protesters don't go to work and do the protest as well? It doesn't make sense for them to only be protesting cus unlike the popular saying "Money doesn't bring you happiness" you can't be happy without it, and you can't survive/live without it.

  • I always have to watch the openings about 5 times to figure out what the fuck is going on.

  • If an old man is taken for his life savings in a ponzi scheme by a scammer, do you say the old man is to blame for being gullible and unprotected so the scammer keeps the money, or do you blame the scammer for being a piece of shit and fucking over the man. Seems like some people here blame the old man.

  • @FuckItSnoopy

    PS-

There's a difference between being a moderate and being a pussy.

  • BACON TITS

  • Hey Philip DeFranco and viewers,

you should all watch the video for the song Silence Won't Save You, by BobbyDarling. It is a very under-viewed work of art and is what I consider to be the epitome of the Occupy Wall Street movement. The song captures part of the reasoning behind so many people around the world protesting. It can be found on youtube. Hope you all enjoy it :)

  • I agree with the 99%, even though I'm kind of part of the 53%. I work my ass off so I don't have to be a part of the lower class (the economic issues are not nearly as bad in Canada). However, I get that the 99% is also worried about the way native Canadians are treated, how handicapped people suffer, and how of all the unfairness in the world, the 1% have way too much going for them. Yes it was a system that people supported, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be a change.

  • only 53% of households pay FEDERAL TAX????? WTF! I pay all kinds of taxes! what happened to the other 47???????????? they dont pay taxes????

  • i completely agree with you on your opinions about the 53% and the 99% groups

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with the Venus Project, we've reached that point where we need to try these radical alternatives, and I think TVP is the way forward

  • was that a nine inch nails song for the preview of avengers??.... cuz trent reznor is awesome.

  • i dont have to pic a side cuz i like in canada

  • i always get this feeling that i'm back in school when i watch these videos

  • that was an awesome idea for a trampoline placement...

  • You just can't be Serious, ? The whole Protest upsets me, Because I was all ready to join the fight - Until I Notice there was no point, Standing around in a park because things are messed up doesn't hurt the 1 percent who completely messed everything up, hell Bank Of America received a huge bail out, and instead of saying thanks we will try not to mess up again... they said well let's hit you poor bastards with a 5 dollar a month debit charge... wow thanks -Where is the dam run on the bank!!!

  • 53% irritates me because they don't realize that the mass majority of the 99% does the EXACT same thing they do. They aren't lazy people who never pay federal income taxes and felt like bitching for no reason. They work just as hard as you do,are tired of all the bullshit, and unlike you, are speaking out against it. The first step to change is acknowledging and speaking out against the issue. What are YOU doing to help? Nothing. And that's what bugs me about "the 53%" people.

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh won't disagree with phil on the point that, yes, middle america made some bad choices too and they added to the problem, but why is the middle class the only ones really paying for these mistakes? Wonder how this will all turn out. If the groups join who knows what'll happen. Also wonder what can be done...

  • @iluvdrakeandjosh how much of that group does that though? i have a poor woman who always beg for money by a SHOPPING CENTER that shopping center has a McDonalds that is HIRING some people piss me off for that reason

  • God bless you Phil and America

  • I liked it

  • im with me wich mean i am with the scamers bitch!!!

  • I'm with the 152%ers (patent pending). Combine them both they are for the same thing just with different approaches (MLK & Malcom X not MLK V Malcom X)

  • Love the show PhillyD!

  • It was entertaining and funny. All you haters out there need to get a life. He's just posting his opinion. You could do the same. The problems are there. Let's stop blaming each other and work to resolve the problems.

  • 53% not saying 99% is wrong though just arent they kinda the same thing?

  • Why are you so fucking stupid Phil? Would it kill you to think?

  • I dont fall into either catagory, im not a pessimist, an optimist, a libral, demacrat or republican, or anything that falls under a certain catagory, I am a realist bottom line. Look, its all great to place people in certain little boxes, its cool to even play the blame game. That is until you grow up and realize that it doesnt matter who's at fault, its not about whats been done (because whats done is done) and its not about who is to blame (so someone might get fired, there'll be 10 more

  • Yeah ur awsome!

  • I'm with the 53%. Just because the "1%" offered you a loan on a house doesn't mean that you can now magically afford it. The same goes for the bankers and brokers responsible- making a ridiculous money for a few years off of terrible decisions obviously did not pay off in the long run. You knew the people couldn't afford the mortgages but the investors asked for more loans, so you decided to lower your standards for credit requirements for home loans. Greed and stupidity killed the economy, so

  • i say that the people who actually cant get jobs and truely try are the people that should be getting unemployment not the people who abuse the system

  • I go with the 0%

  • Mann this dude looks like a proboscis monkey lol

  • The 1% Is a asshole

  • Both 53 and 99 % HAVE AMAZING POINTS
