The first week I had them i had a slight lisp, that was pretty much it. I have been doing this for about a month and a half. My friends who had braces were surprised, they have never have seen rubber bands go this way haha!
@kelz412 Depends on your situation, I have to wear mine all day, just have to take em out when I eat and brush my teeth. Only got one more week with em! Good luck
Thats what i have...my lower jaw is a bit off.....but they never gave me that elastic band thingy to put over my front tteeeth...and now theire almost taking it of....
I wear mine like this. I always forget to wear them though. My midline is only a tiiiiny bit off... I was the one who brought it up to my ortho, he didn't even notice it. I have an appt next week and haven't been wearing them but if I wear them all this week will it be fixed? I hope to get my braces off in the next 2 monthssss D:
At the video of MolenOrthodontics (wich is the same video) they say in the discription that in some cases elastics aren't enough and they give you a herbst. How can that make your midline good?
Are you flipping serious? I have to have this and other rubber bands for deep bite and a small over bite I'm kinda mad and FYI you take them out to eat
@abby75077 Its not a cross bite, google it or youtube it and you will know what I mean. I have cross bite which is supposed to make my smile broader and bite better.
@515NeNe Its not a cross bite, google it or youtube it and you will know what I mean. I have cross bite which is supposed to make my smile broader and bite better.
@zawette Your dentist will tell you how much you are supposed to use them. I only use them in the night but my elastics are not placed the same place as in the video because its a different problem... I got cross bite and elastics work perfectly... Its incredible how much my teeth have moved in one month of using them and I believe I am going to use them for two months more.
@lol8110 Its not called a cross bite because I have a cross bite and that is a whole other problem. Cross bite is when your upper smile is not broad enough which means you will bite wrong. Search for cross bite and you will see what I mean. I have such a thing in my jaw that push them outwardly.
I have one like this, and I have another one but on the same canine tooth, they connected that to my last(wisdom) tooth in the back. What does that mean? I have an overbite and my midline is messed up? It feels weird. :P
When I first had braces,(needed 3 teeth pulled out ):) they hurt like a bitch for 2 weeks. But believe or not, pain go will by fast, and your teeth end up looking really straight! It's totally worth it. I only have to wear mine for a year and a half.
I use those rubberbands since almost 2 months but I dont see any difference. I even use 4 of them. Seems to be quite impossible to move all the teeth at the same time.
in my case, my Dentist is having a problem to correct my midline, as both upper and lower teeth have shifted on the left, so applying opposite force is not helping, is there some right way to do it that u knw of?
holy shit... how are u going to it with that thing?! OMG so it if i have braces And if the center line of my lower and upper teeth are not meeting up i'm going to wear an elastic that way?!
It's not as hard as it looks. I'm currently going through exactly this, and it's not so bad. Just as long as you don't wear them too long, or the elastic will snap and rebound into your cheek. THAT. KILLS.
Apart from that, it's not so bad once you get used to it.
Often the orthodontists are aware of this, and while they'll insist that you wear it as often as possible, they don't expect you to wear it all the time. Often, it's all nights, and whenever you have free days (for example, I wear mine nights and most weekends)
I am wearing this exact same configuration to help my midline. Does anyone know the timeframe for the size of movement in the video? (yes, I will be wearing the elastics 24/7)
This is some pretty heavy movement, but it really depends. I've got a similar thing (nto 24/7, but as often as possible), and mine have moved 2mm in about 8 months (about half the distance shown here, perhaps less). However, since i'm older, it will take longer (I am also notorious for having a very stubborn jaw). it may be shorter for younger people, or if they wear the bands 24/7 (Out of curiousity, do you have animal names on the bands? I'm on Rams, and i'm curious as to how it works)

I hate putting on elastics in front of people. I can never nonchalantly put them on without having at least 7 people stare at me.
