@SafariOutfitter Do you know any departments that teach about Point & Shoot aiming method? Basically you use your naturally physiological ability to point at an object with your index finger and your middle finger to pull the trigger to aim accurately versus using sights, because during a stressful fire scenario you lose your ability to focus on things up close e.g. your sights.
@billyshob You pretty much have to learn to do that yourself, depts will not train civilians on handgun training because of the liabilities, but if you can find a local gun shooting club they might be able to help you in that training aspect and many more shooting drills. I use that method myself for me within 20 to 30 ft it can be effective good luck.
Have you ever shot a S&W M&P? If so, do you like it better than the Glock? I have shot both. I think they are very similar, but I like the M&P better. What do you think? Also, I live in NJ and officers don't carry tasers here. I think I already know the answer, but what do you think about that too?
@boeingphan Tasers can be an very effective tool, many depts are doing away with them because of annoying lawsuits I carry the X-26. I love it for a less then lethal tool, now they make one for the civilian market called the X-26C, you will go through a very thorough background check before it will be activated, but check you local laws about the use of tasers for self defense and if your state or city allows you to carry one I would treat it as a CCW weapon and follow the same laws as such
@biteme19671 Yeah, I intend on becoming a L.E officer for one of the local municipalities here or maybe county deputy. On of my family members is a K9 Unit for the county and he said its too much of a liability. Basically the only less lethal is the pepper spray and A.S.P which some officers don't even carry.
@Twilightfan17749 Yes, there are plenty of female officers. Employement? Each department is different. The internet will be one of your best tools to find out the requirments for your area to become an officer.
@Twilightfan17749 I'm a officer as well, it can be difficult to carry all that equipment, but it is very manageable, you just have to keep yourself in a fit condition, I am also a self defense instructor so we do drills with our equipment on, anything from kneeling 2 being knocked on our backs and recovering to defend yourself.
Thanks for the response! The reserve unit I hope to work with is the same department in which I hope to work as a sworn officer. Hopefully this will lead to a career. Stay safe

@SafariOutfitter i can respect that, I'm just the opposite. We almost had an officer killed because he was taking shots from a guy with 30-06 at an unknown range. From the shell casings it looked like he started shooting at about 200 yards. The officer was saved by a civvy that had his hunting rifle in the truck. I'm a Civvy now and still wont go anywere without a rifle or carbine of sorts within reach. There is something to be said for the racking sound of a shotgun though
@SafariOutfitter Being in Kansas, its mandated that officers carry both a shotgun and M4 in their cars, there is a high likelyhood of needing the range of the rifle due to it being a big hunting community.
@CPLBSS88 The makes a whole lot sense. I work in an industrial area surrounded by residences so the likely hood of needing a ranged weapon is very unlikely.
@SafariOutfitter To add to that; we have a big meth problem here and the preferd weapon for them guarding their "compound" is a semi-auto rifle of sorts, usally a modified SKS or AK just because how cheap they can get them but its not uncommon to capture AR's. Sounds like our AO's are a bit diffrent though, glad you can get by with a shotgun...spending 1k on a rifle kind of hurt lol.

@chris35128 Basically just stay physically and mentally fit. You will need to pass a physical fitness test. @SafariOutfitter I was the same way until mine got knocked off my belt during a fight with a subject. Things changed, I re-thought my belt setup, and now I use a swivel holster. Although your belt is a bit more crowded than mine, so all that stuff also probably "squeezes" the radio so it won't fall off too easy. Thanks for the reply!
@nardiii Thanks nardiii. I know there are plenty of folks out there that show tips and tactics (which is why during an audtion for a upcoming reality show somone else was picked instead of me), but I don't want anything from my videos or classes to cause harm to anyone.
@hooahboy20 Each agency is different. Some do; some don't. Some departments give each officer gets their own car. Some departments make officers "hot seat" the cars meaning: The car never stops runing. The officers just trade it off to each new shift.
Hello, i am 18, & a sr. in high school, i want to become a police officer what things should i be doing now? and what do i have to look forward in b.l.e.t.?
@CI321 Right now, getting a LE job is extremely hard in my area since agencies are laying off certifed officers. If it's the same in your area, I would suggest getting into good physical shape and look into going to college for at least 2 years to get an A.S. or A.A. degree. You could also look at getting a job for an agencey once you graduate in a non-LE positon. Perpahs in communications, code, or another branch where you can get your foot in the door and learn the in's & out's of the dept.
what advice would you give me i'm in the 10th grade and i want to become a local police officer i have decent grades always making sure i dont fall below a 2.5gpa but also i have a 2nd degree assault charge but i believe the charges were dropped can i still become a police officer?
@Streamcentral Depending upon where you live, you may or may not have a problem with your past. It may also depend upon where you apply. Since you were under 18 when you were charged, chances are you'll be okay. Just keep up your grades, look towards getting some college education after you graduate, and look into joining the police explorers if some place offers it in your area.
idk if this is a dumb question but do you get to choose all the gear you carry can you explane that to me i plan on being law enforcement when i graduate high school
@gabeonly Each agency is different. My department requires every officer to carry a pistol with one extra mag, a set of handcuffs with a key, one less-leathal weapon, and a handheld radio. Everyting else is optional.
For that multi tool you might wanna use a Leatherman. I have one my self (not a police officer) and its great for everything and it has a lifetime warranty. Thank for the upload and thank you for protecting us at home:)
@sniperpistol50 If you take a closer look, you'll might be able to see that it is a Leatherman. You're not the first to miss that. The Juice throws people off because of the scales. It's not as pratical as my Super, but it doesn't weigh as much either. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
man i wanna be a cop just so i can have a belt that lets me carry all the stuff i do really wanna carry but its would just be very uncomfortable in my pockets and stuff
@6muffinstuffer9 - Okay if you wish to be childish and call names over the internet have fun. The idiot here would be the person, who instead of finding or using a good solution to carry their items, decides they should call people names who may one day be the one you rely on when you call 911. Continue to be a jerk and see how far it gets you. If you reply I am not going to grace you with an answer again.
Do you carry a back up gun on duty? If so what kind and how? It's interesting to me to see the different ways people can carry a back up firearm everything from tucked in body armor to in a pocket to ankle holster.
@dirtdiver6789 I just now read your comment. For some reason it was flagged as spam. I do carry a back up, but I don't like to show how I conceal my firearms because unfortunately the wrong types of people watch these videos too and I don't want to give them any ideas. Thanks for watching and taking the time to make a comment.
just curious, have u considered changing the holster option to a safariland 6280? i am not a LEO(yet) but i shoot idpa and most of the guys i shoot with are officers and have recommanded carrying a gun light while on duty, just wanted your thoughts on that. and also how can u change to g17 from g22? most department i know only alllow department issue?
@roughers93 As far as duty gear goes, I've had several types over the years (nylon, patent leather, basket weave) depending upon the Chief at the time and what he/she wanted us to use. I am not a fan of handgun mounted lights for a whole lt of reasons that YouTube won't allow me enough room to explain. I'll start another message for the Glocks.
@roughers93 Regarding the Glocks, years ago my department switched to the Glock 22. The problem was that the .40 is not a forgiving round. Several officers had trouble with hitting their target. The Glock 17 was offered to them and their accuracy improved. Then the .45 came out and some offers wanted to use that. Also, the plain clothed detectives and officers started carrying the sub-compact Glocks. Although some would argue about having the same caliber, that's a whole other discussion.
@powlo64 You get used to it. For folks that served in the miltary, this load is nothing compared to what needs to be carried while in the armed services.
@emeralddowns1 I saw the design you're mentioning on an episode of Sons of Guns. In a real life application (and this is just my opinion), I can't say that it would be a good idea. There is an incredible possibilty for human error with that set up. Many of the things done by Red Jacket (and other reality shows) are simply done for ratings.
@johhnyfasnazzy My department doesn't have a policey against gloves. Most officers that I know don't wear them except for certain encounters. I have a pair of Hatch HK operator gloves that I only wear if the situation warrants them to protect my hands.
@crazyfooInc If you're refering to the switch position debate, I prefer my switch towards the light on the battery tube instead of the end cap. However, some companies now have dual position switches which allow the operator to take advantage of both positions.
@xero3ag1e Yes, a high quailty rollerball pen with the distinct ablity of less viscous ink to "which tend to saturate more deeply and more widely into paper than other types of ink, give rollerball pens their distinctive writing qualities." Wikipedia
The transportation or carrying of any firearm is different in each state (or country). However, always leaving a weapon in a vehicle might increase the chance it could be stolen verses leaving it secured in a residence. As far as rust on a baton... It depends upon the metal, how or where you store it, and your enviorment.
Can I carry a shot gun in my vehicle if it's in a case? I mean I'll have it away in my trunk. Also I find that my baton's often rust, what can I do to stop or fix that?
@12jason223 My department only bought racks designed to be mounted on the prisoner partition. I have an administrative vehicle without a partition so I have to keep my secondary weapon secured in the trunk.
@petey10001 When I first started 15 years ago, we had Motorola. Now we're using GE M-RK's. We're switching to a new radio at the begining of 2012, but I don't know what type it will be.
@1989JCH There have been times when I wish I could have the M-203 that was mounted on my M-16A2 and my compliment of gear worn while I was serving in the Marines. Heck, I'd love to trade in my squad car for my old Humvee with the MK-19. I don't know why, but for some reason folks frown on guys (& gals) carrying the big guns.
@SafariOutfitter It is sad what some people say about your vid, but I like it and respect what you are doing. And thank you for doing your duty in the Marines!
@1989JCH I don't mind the comments. Sometimes I can get a conversation started with those types of individuals and I'm able to change their prejudice towards law enforcement.
@JHFunny1000 I'll tell you this, it happned to me once and I fell like the biggest dumb @#$%. Years later when I saw that little buttcap invention, I bought it right away.
I get really tired of people hating on cops, yes their are many corrupt cops out there, BUT, not all of them are bad, I know alota the cops in my area, and most of them are actually decent guys who do their job the right way, but the bottom line is, b4 u hate on cops think about this, u think we're bad off now, what if cops and laws didn't exist 4 a day, at least they take care of what needs 2 be taken care of, but their not perfect even the good ones, we should be greatfull for their service
cool shotgun, im gunna be a police officer as well. thanks for the video, gives me an aspect of what i might have to use/get. hope to see you on duty!!
@RockstarenergymanAK I use Speer Gold Dots. I use to carry Ranger Talons and before that I used Hydroshocks. I've never had any problems with Glocks using hollow points. The only time I've ever seen a problem with ammo in Glocks was when some caddets were using really cheap reloads for practice.
@fz492 Thank you. If you talk to your department heads, I know a lot of departments get stuff donated to them for other agencies. They could look into it to get you some better gear.
@SafariOutfitter hi...in brazil we have a law that forbid the public administration from buying imported goods if we have a similar item that is made in brazil.... so we only use taurus made in brazil weapons.... but thanks anyway....
@JohnHardwick1976 Hello, after seeing the comment you left on my video, I took some time to read your channel/page. I would encourage you to read through the discussions/comments on that video. Perhaps then you might consider retracting your comment if you truly respect the constitution as you seem to imply on your channel profile.
Nice vid. I finnaly got upgraded to the nylon belt from leather after begging the supply officer for a year! much lighter. I always keep my draw side pretty clear from all other items. Well, we used to have the twist pull holster, but now it comes straight up. I also have the clip strap for my second pair of cuffs. Two cuffs is a def. ok man, interesting this popped up on me IDK why. be safe man!
hey , just stoppin by to say hey, and hope u been safe and kicking ass and taking names, been busy as hell myself, this time of year starts getting real busy on the west coast, well stay safe and watch the hands,,,,,,
@newtubetubetube Although a patient (or suspect) might have a latex allergy, I'm not worried about a brief exposure given the the amount of latex medical items that are used by the county and local fire rescue units for treating patients. My primary concern is protecting myself from any harmful pathogens.
@newtubetubetube Nitrile gloves are fine, but as I stated... My primary concern is protecting myself. If first responders had to worry about hypersensitvity, we'd all have to replace our gloves, our barrier masks, look into what type of adhesive is used on AED pads, what insulates the cords for the electrodes,... The list goes on and on.
Pretty well rounded kit. I don’t know how often you have to break windows but I found myself needing to do it a lot and as you may or may not know; the baton kinda sucks at it. To solve this issue I chose (and still do) to carry the victorinox rescue knife. If that was too much tool/ weight then I would often carry the bench made rescue tool belt cutter/s breaker...great items to have especially in the event of an auto fire or any other time you cannot wait around for the F/R.
@CPLBSS88 Thanks for taking the time to comment. My gear is constantly evolving and is different today than it was when I made this video. Although I haven't had a problem entering vehicles through a window with a baton, I have a spring loaded glass breaker in my patrol car just in case.
@MrJphs It's not so diffrent that it'd be worth shooting another video, but I will be recording a video talking about less lethal options and body armor.
@MurrayRobertson27 I'm sure some folks might still have there shotguns or other secondary weapons mounted in the front against the dash. However, since most cars have airbags, consoles, or computers mounted in the front, the secondary weapons have to be mounted elsewhere. I have an administrative vehicle which is why my secondary weapons rides in the trunk.
@RainbowCanyons I'm curious. Did you search for videos like mine with the intention of attempting to insult a god cop? Why would you make such a comment on an educational video and not a video where the topics you brought up are being discussed?
@RainbowCanyons Again, I ask... Why are you making these comments on my video instead of somewhere that these topics are being discussed? You speak of bad cops. I will speak of bad people. It is my job as a law enforcement officer to protect those that can not protect themselves.
@RainbowCanyons I appeciate what you're saying mate, but the police cannot choose what laws they want to enforce, the same as we can't choose the ones we follow. If you want something legalized, then the best and most respectful thing to do is to start a campaign or talk to the government, not to post spam on innocent people's videos
@RainbowCanyons Yes, but we're not at that point yet. You and many others may think these laws are unreasonable, but there must be many more who don't agree otherwise the laws would never be passed. The police are only human, so they would speak up and rebel if it got to that point but at this moment and time the extra security and checkpoints are needed.
@RainbowCanyons Thank you for commenting on spamming videos Titans. I believe many citizens are unhappy with current events both domestically and abroad. As you clarified and I previously stated, my videos are not the place to have a debate with somone about politics or government affairs. I will allow the posts to remain on my video. However, if comments from individuals (Canyon) fail to be contrstuctive with relation to the topic of the video, I will simply delete and block the comments.
Hi. I really think I should tell you officer, but I am completely blind, so I can't see what you're doing, so if you can explaine to me what you are doing, that would be great. Could you be so kind to show and tell me and everyone else, how the taser works, how does it feel to be hit by one, and what is that clicking noise. That sound makes me jump. I'm not talking about the second you fire, but that clicking wile it is going through the person. That would be great.
I agree with the concerns expressed re: using lethal and less lethal ammo in the same weapon. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. Personally, I'd leave the 870 at home to protect the homestead, and invest in a patrol rifle to ride up front with me (not in the trunk). Also, as an EMT, might I suggest nitrile instead of latex gloves. They offer better protection, and less chance of people having adverse allergic reactions to them. Lastly(and most importantly) Stay Safe!
Every officer should carry a pepper spray...if somebody is drunk for example and he is resisting arrest the pepper spray is the best way to go! (I am talking from experience) ...but the rest of the setup is great :D
@gamenode Carrying extra doughnuts won't do any good. Doughnuts must be eaten to see the benifits. That's why so many cops have extra armor around their waste (known in the civilian world as a muffin top or spare tire).
1:) Shotgun make it lethal or less lethal not both, documented cases as to that.
2:) I think in this day and age NOT carrying a light equipped pistol is liability, yes they shoot at the light. If you are doing your job and doing it well you should be shooting them first if they are presenting that as an option.
3:) put the spare taser cartrigdes in your car, along with the multitool, thin out your keys, CUFFS up front GTG!! good setup otherwise.
I can give you my work email from there and we can go into some detail, there's no actual case law for shotgun that I'm aware of but you can contact ALS, and they may be able to provide more info on it. Also look at the BART Police Shooting in the bay area CA about the mix up of taser/pistol... Let me know if you need more, I've also subscribed to your channel you have some excellent vids, and I'm not busting on you in the least.
@krazykiddjoe I disagree with the use of lighted weapons,it may not seem like I have any for sight into this but when you work in a HUD housing project of Portland, you have a pretty good idea.(not trying to be sarcastic,I just dont like people considering me a "security guard").I am sure that you know we are all taught how to clear buildings with a hand held light, a surefire in one hand can do wonders.Cops get into the habit of using lightd weapons like a flashlight and get hit with liability.
@Renta1Cop thats true if ur not using the light for what it was made for if u already have your weapon out why not have both hands on the gun and shoot like u were trained instead of carrying a flashlight in one hand cause i have never shoot like that in my life
@enjmcclendon I think it takes away from the basic fundamentals of shooting. When you draw your weapon and its a lighted weapon, you need to remember that the criminal will shoot for the light, which is directly in front of your body. That is why they teach you the FBI techniques and such. I think now and days people are all about tacti-cool instead of the basics.
@MrGamercat Each agency is different. Some will allow it and other do not. My department requires that I carry my issued Glock while on duty, but I can carry almost anything I want as a secondary firearm or off-duty firearm.

@hooahboy20 Each agency is different. Some do; some don't. Some departments give each officer gets their own car. Some departments make officers "hot seat" the cars meaning: The car never stops runing. The officers just trade it off to each new shift.

Is it legal for a police officer to carry knuckles? Great video greetz holland

@Pyrovuurtje I can't think of a reason why an officer would want to carry knuckles. They are a leathal weapon and for that officers have firearms.

Hello, i am 18, & a sr. in high school, i want to become a police officer what things should i be doing now? and what do i have to look forward in b.l.e.t.?
CI321 1 month ago
@CI321 Right now, getting a LE job is extremely hard in my area since agencies are laying off certifed officers. If it's the same in your area, I would suggest getting into good physical shape and look into going to college for at least 2 years to get an A.S. or A.A. degree. You could also look at getting a job for an agencey once you graduate in a non-LE positon. Perpahs in communications, code, or another branch where you can get your foot in the door and learn the in's & out's of the dept.
SafariOutfitter 1 month ago
what advice would you give me i'm in the 10th grade and i want to become a local police officer i have decent grades always making sure i dont fall below a 2.5gpa but also i have a 2nd degree assault charge but i believe the charges were dropped can i still become a police officer?
Streamcentral 1 month ago
@Streamcentral Depending upon where you live, you may or may not have a problem with your past. It may also depend upon where you apply. Since you were under 18 when you were charged, chances are you'll be okay. Just keep up your grades, look towards getting some college education after you graduate, and look into joining the police explorers if some place offers it in your area.

@carbone1503 The sheath has a clip. Due to the thickness of the belt, it stays attached very well.

@dirtdiver6789 I just now read your comment. For some reason it was flagged as spam. I do carry a back up, but I don't like to show how I conceal my firearms because unfortunately the wrong types of people watch these videos too and I don't want to give them any ideas. just curious, have u considered changing the holster option to a safariland 6280? i am not a LEO(yet) but i shoot idpa and most of the guys i shoot with are officers and have recommanded carrying a gun light while on duty, just wanted your thoughts on that. and also how can u change to g17 from g22? most department i know only alllow department issue?
roughers93 2 months ago
@roughers93 As far as duty gear goes, I've had several types over the years (nylon, patent leather, basket weave) depending upon the Chief at the time and what he/she wanted us to use. I am not a fan of handgun mounted lights for a whole lt of reasons that YouTube won't allow me enough room to explain. I'll start another message for the Glocks.
SafariOutfitter 2 months ago
@roughers93 Regarding the Glocks, years ago my department switched to the Glock 22. The problem was that the .40 is not a forgiving round. Several officers had trouble with hitting their target. The Glock 17 was offered to them and their accuracy improved. Then the .45 came out and some offers wanted to use that. Also, the plain clothed detectives and officers started carrying the sub-compact Glocks. Although some would argue about having the same caliber, that's a whole other discussion.
SafariOutfitter 2 months ago
@powlo64 You get used to it. For folks that served in the miltary, this load is nothing compared to what needs to be carried while in the armed services.

@emeralddowns1 I saw the design you're mentioning on an episode of Sons of Guns. In a real life application (and this is just my opinion), I can't say that it would be a good idea. There is an incredible possibilty for human error with that set up. Many of the things done by Red Jacket (and other reality shows) are simply done for ratings.

JenerationNation 2 months ago
The transportation or carrying of any firearm is different in each state (or country). However, always leaving a weapon in a vehicle might increase the chance it could be stolen verses leaving it secured in a residence. As far as rust on a baton... It depends upon the metal, how or where you store it, and your enviorment.
SafariOutfitter 2 months ago
Can I carry a shot gun in my vehicle if it's in a case? I mean I'll have it away in my trunk. Also I find that my baton's often rust, what can I do to stop or fix that?

Latex glove is not very wise. Try something that may not cause anaphylaxis.
newtubetubetube 4 months ago
@newtubetubetube Although a patient (or suspect) might have a latex allergy, I'm not worried about a brief exposure given the the amount of latex medical items that are used by the county and local fire rescue units for treating patients. My primary concern is protecting myself from any harmful pathogens.
SafariOutfitter 4 months ago
@SafariOutfitter Nitrile glove are not good?
newtubetubetube 4 months ago
@newtubetubetube Nitrile gloves are fine, but as I stated... My primary concern is protecting myself. If first responders had to worry about hypersensitvity, we'd all have to replace our gloves, our barrier masks, look into what type of adhesive is used on AED pads, what insulates the cords for the electrodes,... The list goes on and on.
SafariOutfitter 4 months ago

SafariOutfitter 4 months ago
@RainbowCanyons I appeciate what you're saying mate, but the police cannot choose what laws they want to enforce, the same as we can't choose the ones we follow.

@gamenode Carrying extra doughnuts won't do any good. Doughnuts must be eaten to see the benifits. That's why so many cops have extra armor around their waste (known in the civilian world as a muffin top or spare tire).

couple points on your set-up.
1:) Shotgun make it lethal or less lethal not both, documented cases as to that.
2:) I think in this day and age NOT carrying a light equipped pistol is liability, yes they shoot at the light. If you are doing your job and doing it well you should be shooting them first if they are presenting that as an option.
3:) put the spare taser cartrigdes in your car, along with the multitool, thin out your keys, CUFFS up front GTG!! good setup otherwise.

krazykiddjoe 5 months ago
@krazykiddjoe I disagree with the use of lighted weapons,it may not seem like I have any for sight into this but when you work in a HUD housing project of Portland, you have a pretty good idea.(not trying to be sarcastic,I just dont like people considering me a "security guard").I am sure that you know we are all taught how to clear buildings with a hand held light, a surefire in one hand can do wonders.Cops get into the habit of using lightd weapons like a flashlight and get hit with liability.
Renta1Cop 5 months ago
@Renta1Cop thats true if ur not using the light for what it was made for if u already have your weapon out why not have both hands on the gun and shoot like u were trained instead of carrying a flashlight in one hand cause i have never shoot like that in my life
enjmcclendon 5 months ago
@enjmcclendon I think it takes away from the basic fundamentals of shooting. When you draw your weapon and its a lighted weapon, you need to remember that the criminal will shoot for the light, which is directly in front of your body. That is why they teach you the FBI techniques and such. I think now and days people are all about tacti-cool instead of the basics.
